A cafeteria employee treated me rudely. Many students at Bucks County Community College are non-native English speakers, and every student deserves respect. I attempted to sign up for a senior course for learning Italian. The people taking the registration information were unable to help me get logged into the system. When I found out how much the course was, I decided to go elsewhere, unaware that I was actually registered. I just paid over $200 dollars for a course that I never attended. The registrar's office said it was too late to submit a challenge to the fee and that it would go to collection if I didn't pay. Suffice to say, I won't be enrolling in any future courses. read more

I had a terrible online class experience here. Instead of lectures, the "professor" uploaded links to short videos, many of which were broken and lead nowhere. The occasional lectures he uploaded were audio recordings of in-person classes. The audio was terrible, the videos cut off mid-sentence, and were not comprehensive in any way. When I reached out to Bucks for a refund, they said no, because I was outside the refund period. I couldn't have known the course was going to have these problems within the time allotted for a refund. They demonstrated no concern or remorse over the quality of the course, gave no indication they were going to prevent this from happening to future students. I would never recommend this school to anyone. read more

Part of the Pennsylvania Community College System, Bucks County Community College has three campuses. The largest is the 200 acre preserve in Newtown, sitting at the edge of Tyler State Park. The Tyler Mansion anchors the northern edge of the campus, and provides some administrative office space to the school, as well as a facility for the many catered events that take place there. The park and the manse offer the institution an expanse and historic dignity seldom found in our new public schools of higher education. The tuition is approximately $10,000 per year, but most students qualify for some financial aid, bringing the average expense closer to $7,200. So, it is a good deal compared to double that cost for other state schools in the Commonwealth. Many of my son's friends start at BCCC and transfer to a four year college after graduation, thus saving money in the interim so they can more easily afford reaching a complete university education. Recently, I drove over to the school to receive my two Covid vaccinations (Pfizer). Bucks Department of Health had transformed the student center into a large injection site. With online registration and email reminders, it was a convenient and efficient place to take care of this important community health care responsibility. The staff was professional and humane, with easy directions to proceed through the process. No long lines. Little fuss. No muss. I was impressed with how smoothly everything went, and how well the school cooperated with the county government and the thousands people who chose to visit the school to take care of their important business. read more

The Bucks Newtown campus is huge compared to their other campus locations. Bucks offers a large variety of classes and programs that easily transfer to surrounding state schools at a fraction of the state school tuitions. To me, it just makes sense to pay 4,000 a year rather than 14,000 a year (more or less). You can take classes at pretty much any time of the year at Bucks. They offer two summer sessions, a fall semester, a spring semester, fast-track math classes, and mid-semester classes. Getting my Associates Degree at Bucks was fast, affordable, and easy. I see a lot of adult students who return to school by starting with classes at Bucks. The best part includes all of the transfer agreements they have with other colleges and the amazing advisors who guide you through your education. read more

I feel like I could copy Sondra's review word-for-word! Unfortunately nothing has changed since she wrote that over one year ago! The communication is terrible at best. And Dylan's review seems in awe that there's a bookstore. Hello, it's a college! Of course they are going to have a bookstore so that they can sell you all the books you'll never look at after the class is over! I had the misfortune of taking a computer class in the Gateway Building. To any normal-sized adult human, you will NOT fit at the desks designed for kindergartners! So if you're going to take a computer class: - bring a pillow for back support, - a few book (you can use the ones you purchased from the bookstore) to raise your monitor and - take off your shoes so your legs will fit under the tables. The room is divided in half with an aisle down the middle. So there are no good seats to actually see what the instructor is demonstrating on the screen. Way to go Bucks! Money well-spent on this new building. Somebody's palm was obviously greased! read more

BCCC is a great school. It is really affordable and the professors are some of the best. They have everything you could want. Safe campus and the excellent library resources. There are numerous areas to read in private without distraction. They also have an upper Bucks and Bristol location besides Newtown. The cafeteria is convenient. Unless you receive a large scholarship as a freshman this is the best place to start. It is also a great way to learn if you just want to take a class. They will advise you and work with you in every way. Bucks is so lucky to have such a good school in the area and they have put a lot of money back into the school over the years. read more

Only good thing about bucks is the pricing! Other than that it sucks. The advisors ALWAYS tell me I don't need to take a class & then when the next semester comes they tell me I need to take it ... waste of time and making me fall behind.. btw I was here earlier to review my classes and got yelled at by an advisor for me being on my phone checking to make sure he doesn't put classes I didn't need , like I told him. As far as community colleges go, Bucks is just fair. I transferred from Bucks to Temple, and the education I received here was good. I did learn a lot about myself and my area of study. However, the way this college is run is deplorable. They put all this money into renovations, and the school looks fabulous. In fact, I am jealous that Bucks didn't look like it does when I was a student. Anyway, back to my point, the school is super disorganized. They don't sent out the proper e-mails letting students know when they need to apply for a position for the following semester, and they don't have staff that knows what they are doing; I spent an extra semester taking classes that I didn't need cause an adviser told me it was required!!! Also, when it was my time to graduate from the school, I was told I didn't need a class I was taking for graduation. I dropped the class because I thought it was more important to focus on classes I would need. In the end, I couldn't graduate because that class was mandatory for graduation. Mind you that I had already paid for graduation. I found this out TWO WEEKS before I was supposed to graduate. It took a year of calling and pleading with Bucks to get my money back. Im writing in regards to my summer and fall registration. Unfortunately there has been some challenges in these area's. This past spring semester I was directed to the dean of the art department as my advisor. This was because registration had never notified me that half of my classes (that I was registered for at the time) had been dropped!! So Dean of the Arts department had helped me pick my spring classes... (Which was an event because at this point THERE WAS NOTHING LEFT TO PICK DUE TO this ESTABLISHMENT!!!) When it was time to choose classes for summer session and fall classes he referred me to the Woodshop prof . Unfortunately the Woodshop prof may have not been an appropriate choice due to my major being Graphic Design (I respected the Dean of the Art Department opinion at the time, so I never questioned his choices ). A few upsetting things have happened because of this... and one MAJOR event has been brought to my attention. Keep in Mind I'm only 11 credits away from graduating and WOULD LIKE TO KEEP IT THAT WAY!!! Im Scheduled to GRADUATE by December! Now the problem is during this up coming fall schedule I notice the Woodshop prof has me taking Typography and Graphic Design Class at the same time. I understand this might be a challenging task to accomplish both classes at the same time but I'm ok with this and will rise to the challenge, all I needed was the Dean of the Art Department's approval ( Since all of this can be traced back to him and now he should take responsibility ). Also I've been planned for these classes now for two months and no one has said anything to me!!! I needed help in understanding how this confusion happened, along with other class scheduling mis haps that happened due to my advisors choices. Now I have been told I am not going to graduate in December because the one class I'm not allowed to take until the spring semester due to this establishments disorganization and LACK of communication. I also have been advised that if another college provides this one particular class during the fall I may get it approved and take it in order to graduate. This baffles me because Bucks offers this class. Why would I give my money to another establishment. I am a full time student who works more than forty hours and lives on my own. I have taken classes at bucks now for four years and would like to Graduate. These odd situations seem to happen every semester and I find it to be more than upsetting. Im at the point where I want to withdraw from bucks and take my money some where else. I also plan on sending my applications to other universities in October and needed this semester to be my last at Bucks. These last two semesters I have worked very hard to raise my GPA and get good grades. Im a dedicated student and wish this establishment wouldn't punish me for striving to be the best. Please if you are looking to start at a community college... then do your research and go to montco!! its top ten in our country!!!! read more

Bucks is an awesome school, safe small setting , better professors than I had at university, and have an abundance of class sessions and choices to choose from. By far the best part time college in pennsylvania. renovated cafeteria, pool, 3/4 mile from tyler park, and a huge gym. The best part is the nice founders hall building. the founders hall is older, but the pool/gym area is newer. There's a locker room on he 2nd floor of the pool/gym building with a shower room that is hardly ever used. The cafeteria has a starbucks. And the BCCC has a bookstore too. read more

My daughter is concluding her studies at Bucks County Community College and her experience there was very favorable. She always found her professors and the college advisors to be both caring and helpful. She will begin her studies at Delaware Valley University this Fall and we feel that BCCC has done great work in advancing her education and personal growth. I am taking an online course on Introduction to Excel. I understand it is an introduction but to me it seems like the course is geared towards people who have never opened a spreadsheet in their life. There are no videos for visual understanding, just 2-3 pages of text for each lesson. Very disappointed with the curriculum, and most importantly it is way overpriced. The course is certainly not worth $139. I was planning on taking the Intermediate and Advanced courses too but you live and learn. And I can say this because I am also taking a simultaneous course on Coursera and I am learning a lot more in details. Their videos are informative, the quizzes are challenging and they cover a lot more in details. For the chart style lessons, I straightaway jumped to the quiz section without reading the short 2-paragraph chapters because I knew it all from Coursera already. I would not recommend this course to anyone because you certainly don't get your money's worth. read more

I was attending Bucks, for the LPN program. The program was very behind the times. Instructors at the Upper Bucks Campus were there to collect a pay check only. When ANY program instructor says, they have to steal supplies or we didn't order GI tubes in your kits to save money, so just pretend this catheter tube is a GI tube, you know you need to reconsider your school. Then I found out that they could dismiss you from the one year program; one month or even one week, before graduating and you could kiss your one year of time and your investment of $25,000 good bye, all based on a very subjective, 10 point system that was left to the discretion or whim of the instructor, who may not like your personality, I Bailed. This program isn't accredited either. The campus is nice, but they seem to be behind the times, more interested in fancy buildings then the content and professionalism of their education. read more
