The infant room program is excellent; the teachers are attentive and caring. Recently I received a call from Miss Megan (one of the owners) after I had picked up my daughter for the day. Megan called to let me know that the classroom teacher realized they had forgotten to send home two unused bottles of breastmilk. Normally, they would keep them for use the following day- but it happened to be a Friday. Immediately my heart sank, because Goddard observes strict time limits on storage of breastmilk/formula, and I knew that the bottles of liquid gold would not be able to be saved for Monday. I could have driven back to the school to pick them up, but instead Megan offered to drop them off to my house on her way home that night. Talk about service! The teacher didn't have to alert someone to the oversight. Megan didn't have to go out of her way on a Friday night to drop off my baby's bottles. But they did it anyway! Saving the world- one bottle of breastmilk at a time LOVE Goddard Horsham!

They also received a lot of emotional nurturing, and you could definitely feel the sincerity of the teachers, staff and owners in terms of their love for the children and their jobs. The Goddard School feels like a family/small community, where everyone knows you & your child's name. There are always fun family events to keep you connected to classmates and your child's development. Even now, whenever we drive by the school, the kids excitedly yell "our school!" as a testament to their fondness of their time there. We highly recommend The Goddard School of Horsham; looking back on our time there, it was definitely worth the investment!

The Quaker values that are an integral part of the school community help your child become a better person. My son is kind, generous, has empathy toward others, and has excellent critical thinking skills. My husband and I are not rich and made sacrifices to allow our son to attend AFS. It was worth every penny. Contrary to other reviews, it is not a school for the wealthy and they celebrate community diversity. Every child deserves the education that AFS provides, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

We could not be more confident with the care and immediate attention the staff of Alphabet Garden took to get our 16 mo old emergency medical attention. They truly treat our baby like she is family. This school has it's pros and cons. The pro is the small…read moreclass sizes. Less than 50 students per grade, so it is possible to know all of your classmates. This is also a con because it makes "cliques" more apparent. Pros: Parent-teacher relationships are strong. Attached to the church so there is no walking outside during inclement weather. Nuns still teach and run the school, this is less common in some other Catholic schools. Convenient for local children. Has after school program. CORA is available to tutor children who are having trouble, this happens during school hours. Cons: Costly, there are even charges if your child stays for lunch (which last I remember is held in the classrooms since there is no proper cafeteria.) Lack of after school activities, and those that do exist are expensive. Extracurricular classes are poor, in particular gym, which is held in the chilly basement of the church. Small class sizes mean advanced students are held back. To keep them busy they are asked to help less advanced students. Most of the student body lives in the area and graduates to Archbishop Ryan. Religion is held in high regard, and is very prevalent in the classroom. By attending this school, CCD is not mandatory as you study for and receive the sacraments through their church.

I attended this school during 3rd grade for one full year in the 60s. That one, single year…read moretraumatized me for the rest of my life. I was placed in the front of the school in a room with approximately 10-12 other children with ADD. We did well in subject matters but had trouble staying focused and seated. What I do remember very well were the beatings we all suffered from the teachers. One was named Lauer, possibly Alfred. Back in the 60s, they used old-fashioned yardsticks to keep us in order. They would beat us until we cried. We had nobody to appeal to, as we were just a bunch of 7 year old munchkins. How bad could we have been? Lauer would first verbally torture the children. Then, if we reacted in an adverse manner, he would take his yardstick, which was never far from him, and beat the living crap of the child in his sights. Although we were not part of the larger school with many autistic children, we did have lunch with them in the lunchroom. I remember quite vividly those poor souls being beaten and abused by the staff. They never tried to hide or cover up the abuse. Delta School and others have been successful for the past 5-10 years at deleting my eyewitness account of what went on in this hellhole. Every time I post what happened there, they complain and my review is deleted. Next time, I will file suit and testify in Philadelphia court. This is a truthful account and they want it quashed. If you love your children, DO NOT send them to this school.

I honestly cannot believe what our experience has been like with Newtown Friends School. It was…read morerecommended to us by an acquaintance whose children attend there and love it. Small classes, progressive values such as inclusivity and diversity, values that so much seemed to reflect our own. It just so happens that our fourth grader was the victim of a crime over the summer before attending this new school. His behavior was affected by this event and, initially, NFS staff, using their language of partnership and collaboration, provided support that had an immediate positive impact. As they expressed a willingness to collaborate with us so did they decide NOT to actually collaborate. The simple recommendation was to keep the support in place and unchanged for a number of months. For whatever their reason, they chose not to do so. This immediately set our child up for failure as they made changes to the support that was working perfectly. Despite our efforts to collaborate, they simply changed it with no regard to what would work for our son. As a result, he was basically set up for failure. Our bright and motivated 9-year-old boy was never in so much trouble as he was at NFS. He was clearly under their critical microscope and their lack of understanding, empathy and unwillingness to work with him was both shocking and obvious. We decided that this school was definitely not a match for him or for our family. The values that they tout are good on paper but our experience is that none of them were genuine and there was no caring about our child, family or experience. "Teaching the whole child", and all of their "partnership", was chewed up and spit out along with us. But they made a point of keeping our.overpayment. Please know that NFS collects tuition fully in advance of the school year being complete. So if you invest in this place for your child's education and well-being, be prepared to lose your money if your child is deemed not good enough by those on high in administration. A sad reflection of Quaker values equating to a complete and total lack of empathy, enormous hypocrisy and obvious greed.
