I've been to Omakase a couple of times now, and every time I enter the place I instantly get caught…read moreup in the sweet, distinct aroma of Japanese cuisine; it makes me hurry to my seat so I can order and finally get my hands, er, chopsticks on their food! Recently, I've tried their Mt. Fuji Roll which has deep-fried tuna, unagi, and cream cheese. The taste is eel-ectrifying (ha!). I like how the mild taste of the cream cheese balances out the saltiness of the tuna and unagi. Aside from the usual fare of sashimi and maki, I almost always go for teriyaki chicken when eating at Japanese restaurants. Omakase's teriyaki chicken is good; it has that smokey, savory flavor that's important in teriyaki chicken, though I guess it's a little too sweet. With its intimate setting, I'd consider it a great place to go to when with family or friends. If you're going in a large group, try the Sushi Boat but prepare to go a little overboard (another ha!) on your budget.

The atmosphere of this branch itself is not something to look forward to (comparing to nearby relatively newer restaurants in this building). The servers are great as they are not too overbearing but let me just say that the food is what keeps me coming back! M2, omakase roll and spicy tuna salad, I love you.

My favourite Mom & Tina's branch!…read more I don't know how it came to be but my family and I have developed this tradition of having a small family reunion at Mom & Tina's each year. It's weird because no one talks about it but yes, you can find us there all together once a year. Though I do visit this branch more often than once a year since I like how the place looks (like a doll house) both on the inside and outside. I think this place can accommodate slightly more people than the other branches but I could be wrong. I love their desserts and their baked goodies specially their Bacon empanada. Yes, please! The winning dish for me here is their Paella and their roast beef. But more often than not, I get their breakfast options since I am a breakfast person. Definitely worth a try! How's your Mom & Tina's experience?

I used to frequent their branch along C5 since it used to be on the way to my school. My usual order was their Shepherd's Pie. Nothing special really, but it was just the simple taste of a home cooked meal that made me love it. Yesterday, I decided to order something different. Having been away from home for a few weeks, my taste buds were craving for something Pinoy. They now have an All Day Breakfast menu which includes my favorite Filipino Breakfast, beef tapa. I honestly wasn't expecting much, nor was I expecting service to be so quick, but when I first laid my eyes on the plate, I knew it had to be good! Now, for tapa, I like to make sure that I've got all aspects in my spoon. First the garlic rice, then a part of the egg, then some tapa dipped in vinegar, and to top it all off... Atchara! And that first bite? Maaaaan. That first bite. It was heaven. I fell in love. It was like a beef tapa bacon. Tasty, salty and crunchy. It was so good that whenever my boyfriend would ask for a bite, I would let him get a spoonful with a heavy heart. I absolutely did not want to share my food! Mom & Tina's definitely became part of my Best Tapas in town list!

I ordered that Relenong Bangus and it was to die for! I finished the whole fish by my self.....without rice! That's how good it is. Also, their Tokwa at baboy tasted so heavenly with a well balanced flavor of the sauce that was not so overpowering with garlic and onions. It was mixed to perfection and can be drank by itself! Their Goto is also great! Flavorful and served fresh to our table, you just won't care how hot the soup is, you just want to dig in and savor the deliciousness of the dish. The only negative thing that I noticed are the faces of their servers. As always, they lacked friendliness and they had this irritated look in their faces like we are a bother to them. If it were not for the delicious food, I would have encouraged my party to leave and find a friendlier place.

The halo-halo was the standout for me--really hit the spot and perfect for the weather. The palabok was very generous with the sauce, which I appreciated, though flavor-wise it wasn't especially memorable for me since I've had better elsewhere. The sisig on rice was okay, but I wish there was a bit more sisig compared to the amount of rice. The place was packed though, so clearly a lot of people keep coming back for a reason. I'd still be open to returning and trying some of their other ulam next time.
