In other words, they let me reserve a car for her with my credit card over the phone and when she arrived they informed her that since her name wasn't on the credit card, she could not use the vehicle. This was the same card I reserved her airplane ticket with and hotel with, neither of whom had a problem with it. Maybe that's normal policy for car rental businesses but the attitude she received from Hertz customer service at Great Falls Airport was not cold and not helpful. Next time we will use Truro, the rental car app like Uber. Everything i hear about Truro is easier and more affordable and you don't have to put up with the attitude of a customer service rep that hates her job and takes it out on a customer.

The windshield wipers are of no value as they are shot! I can't see! I pull over and find a local Enterprise branch. Go there and they tell me to go to the local Honda Dealer. So I do. Honda dealer service manager comes out and tells me you were correct, the tires are shot! I can't let you drive out of here on them. (Enterprise has NO issue renting me the POS). The Honda service manager also tells me that it needs a oil change. So here I am, in a rental car, doing maintenance. Waisting 1/2 of a day. Enterprise asks what can they do? Give me back my day! ...don't give excuses, do maintenance! Note to ANYONE looking to buy a used car. Never buy used rental cars. Not only are they run rough. But some companies don't even do maintenance!

I travel to MT monthly for a week each time.

I figured the $50 would cover the ticket and the rest would go to VMS for their process. Wrong. They charged $50 just to act as the middle man between Budget and the City of San Diego. I guess I ok'd this service when I rented the car. Must of been in the fine print. A few weeks later I get a letter from the City of San Diego saying I still owe them for the ticket. So the grand total of the ticket was $50 VMS B.S. fee + $37.50 ticket + $3.00 convenience fee = $90.50 for being 10 minutes late on the meter.

When we picked it up in Great Falls, the vehicle had not been cleaned, had a large windshield crack, and oil change light on. The folks at the counter said they did not have time to clean/fix it and this was the only vehicle they had for us, so we took it. This part is ok, we could have walked away but were happy to at least have something. We documented everything with the staff. Since dropping off the car in O'Hare, we have received two separate letters charging us hundreds of dollars for damages we did not cause: once for cleaning and once for replacing the windshield. One of these arrived 2 months after our rental. In both cases, I called Avis to dispute because these were not damages we caused and we had documented all previous damage with the Great Falls staff. Since Avis obviously did not have proof that we caused the damage (since we didn't), they removed the charges. It is not acceptable that Avis is charging people without proof and putting the burden on the customer, even months after the rental.
