Stayed in 1999. Then came back in 2023 to visit a place my wife's grandparents did back in the 60's. over the August long weekend (we're Canadian) we brought friends and family with us this time. The happy hour is gone, darn it. The staff are friendly and the service is good. Love the retro vibe of the place. I've read the other reviews. It's an older hotel. Lean into it. Affordable option for a quick overnight stay. The front desk staff was amazing and so so sweet to us! It appears they are actively renovating and it's only going to get better! We met a fellow there who was on a cross country motorcycle trip who was a repeat visitor because of their secure covered parking! The hallways smell like smoke, but our room did not. The room was outdated-kitchy-but clean. Lots of noise at night. Wouldn't plan on a long stay here, but definitely did the trick for a quick stop! Great location! Two-ish blocks from a bunch of cook restaurants! Breakfast is included (but you are waited on so tips are separate)! Staying at the O'Haire is a bucket list item that everyone must do. It's a simple motel style spot in the middle of downtown Great Falls, within walking distance to quite a few lovely restaurants and watering holes. Of course, the highlight is the Sip 'n Dip lounge which is decorated in tiki style with rum based drinks, including a fish bowl drink for 4. And, the MERMAIDS of course! This is an experience like no order! Clark and Lewie's has solid food and even caters to the surrounding areas. Rooms are clean and slowly being updated, but keeping that mid century style. One Word: Mid Part of town looks Uninviting until go a couple of blocks over. Dark hallways are creepy, unimpressed with room. No A/C, even though connected to central air, it was warm. I was on the ground level and didn't feel comfortable with the window looking out to a sketchy street. Stains on top cover. White sheets and towels looked clean. Tub was not perfect but fine. Water pressure was good. Wanted to use the pool and they say they close it an hour before the mermaids swim but it was padlocked. Fitness room was being used as a closet for construction trash? Maybe? No outlets near the bed either. Overall overhyped. read more

Don't ever judge a book by its cover! I'm very critical when it comes to my bed and environment before I booked here I had reservations at another hotel, I walked into the room turned around and cancelled the room. That being said, I found O'Haire Moter Inn, thank God the front in lady was so so sweet and so comforting! It's dated but extremely clean ( I'm a germaphobe) but no worries here! They give you coupons for free breakfasts while you stay, I'm here 2 days possible 5+ while waiting for my house to pass! The location is so so but there is a parking garage which is very important!!! (secure) So please don't hesitate to book here, the price is very reasonable! read more

This was a nice little motel in Great Falls. The price was right, the room was clean, the mermaid show at the bar made the stay worthwhile. I had a non-smoking room but the hallway reeked of smoke and the room had smoke smell. It would be nice if there were electrical outlets by the bed. All in all it was a decent stay. read more

My crazy in laws and I stayed here over the weekend and the staff here was amazing! I know the place is a little dated but they make up for it in service. We forgot to pay before leaving the diner and they were very polite and understanding. We forgot two rice bags (my wife can't sleep without a warmed rice bag) in the hotel room after check out. They found one but the other was missing as the room had already been cleaned. After talking to the woman at the front desk she said they could try and mail it. We didn't have much hope for it being found though. After leaving my in laws had to return for $200 they left under the mattress (why they wouldn't keep it in their wallet or purse is beyond me lol) they found it and returned the cash!!! My mother in law also left her phone in the diner and they were waiting for her to come back and get it. Amazing interactions the entire time! A week later and guess what shows in the mail. The missing rice bag. Very good people. We are a mess and they were amazing. read more

This review is going to have a few movie references in it. First of all this place was built in 1961 or 1962 and as far as I can tell the decor hasn't changed a bit. It feels like you're back in the 60s. Don't fret, the rooms have great beds, flat screen TVs, WiFi, mini-fridge but the rest is original -- down to the low-voltage switches to turn on/off the lights!!! Movie reference 1: If you've ever seen "The Right Stuff" there is a scene where two astronauts are sitting at a bar talking about an upcoming mission and behind the bar is a window that looks out to the pool and people swimming in it. You wouldn't be laughed at if you thought that scene was shot at the tiki bar upstairs called the Sip n' Dip. I mean, how cool and kitschy is that? I can't remember how often but between 6 and 8 (or maybe 10) in the evening there's a mermaid that swims in the pool (I don't know what she does to stay alive when she's not in the pool though) and you can go up to the glass and get your picture taken with her. The kids in the bar LOVED it. Movie reference 2: After a FANTASTIC steak dinner in the attached restaurant we went to the outdoor bar (less tiki-ish but still has that feel) for a few drinks. It turns out that a local high school class was having a 30 year reunion where four of the guys appeared at the bar dressed in very convincing flight suits and helmets with stickers to recreate he pilots in "Top Gun". Thankfully they didn't start singing "You've Lost that Lovin' Feeling" because I would've lost that delicious steak. Bottom line: This was a great place to stay and I would strongly recommend it for anyone who doesn't need "concierge"-level service where ever they stay. We showed up without a reservation and only got a room because someone else just canceled (good karma). The front desk was slammed when we got there but no one was anything less that very friendly. The food in the restaurant (dinner and breakfast) was delicious and huge. The bartenders had some great stories to tell and EVERY room comes complete with a rubber duckie!! We only stayed the one night before moving on but there was enough to see and do that we never left the building until the next morning when we checked out the pawn shop across the street. read more

I was visiting in Great Falls for just under a week and when I looked for hotels online I found the O'haire Motor Inn. It looked intriguing but their rooms looked to be all booked. But when I called the front desk a very nice lady said they did have rooms available and quickly reserved one for me. I arrived to Great Falls much earlier than expected and when I called to see if I could leave my luggage there until check-in time they quickly accommodated us with our room. From there on out everything was so nice! All of the staff are very friendly, the Sip-n-Dip lounge is awesome and their restaurant had great food. On the day we had our room made-up someone even came back to check and make sure we were happy with it! All in all it was a great stay and if I'm ever back in the area I will definitely stay here again, just sad I missed the 'Piano Pat' show. read more

Nice motel a little off the beaten path in Great Falls, MT. Decided to give it a try after reading other reviews and ended up being very glad I did. This has to be one of the less expensive motels in the area, but probably rivals the others in terms of quality. It does have limited wireless access, but I was told when I checked in that if I didn't have a good signal I could come back to the desk and get a cable for wired access. I was able to get a "Very Low" wireless signal in my room. There does not appear to be any signal throttling if downloading. One perk - covered parking. They have their own parking garage attached. I'm not sure how large it actually is, but I had no problem finding a space. Might be too tight for larger vehicles. Great for motorcycles! One complaint - Cheap, water saving, mass-produced shower head. read more

Recently stay for a night stay. Door is new lock I never seen. A+. But the room is from the 70's. 2 mirrors pointing to the bed. Carpet red, blood red to boot. Mirrors have none of new things like crown molding. Shower needs updating the shower head looks like a snake, small and cannot be moved. And the room has a chandler with sweeping chain/power line to a upper socket. Very 70. I have clap. There are no plug sockets near the bed!!!! I have to use the clothes iron plug to get machine to work. read more

just a bad experience. I checked in on a Sunday expecting to stay 5 nights. When bringing my bags to the room the hallway smelled very smoky, very unpleasant ans the smell seeped onto the room. When I got into my room I looked for a electrical outlet near the bed to plug my phone and computer into and there were none! All the outlets were on the other side of the room. That's a deal breaker because I like to sit on the bed and do some work on my computer. Even the alarm clock was on the other side of the room, so you have to get up to even hit the snooze button. When I tried the light switches next to the bed not all of them worked. I went to the office to ask about another room and I was told that all of them were setup the exact same way, so with the smell and lack of outlets I decided to leave. They still charged me for the night when all I had done was bring my bags in and sit on the bed! Amex and my companies travel agency will surely be notified and the hotel will be removed from our list. I've been a business traveller for over 35 years and this is the first time I've experienced anything like this. I am now sitting in a much cleaner and nicer Holiday Inn and paying less per night. read more

I stayed here because I was planning to visit the mermaid bar for the evening while I did some work and wanted to just be able to walk back to my room when I was done. The room was very clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. The rubber duck is a cute added touch. It was a little annoying not to be able to plug my cell phone into an outlet near the bed to charge as I use it as my alarm clock. Instead I had to set it up across the room to recharge. But the biggest problem was that I had some unruly neighbors on my floor. At about 10:30 pm, I made the first of what would wind up being four calls to the front desk to report shouting, swearing, and things or maybe people being slammed around. It was so bad that I was concerned that there being some sort of domestic violence situation in progress, and I was afraid to go check it out myself for fear of endangering myself. Staff came to address the problem, and it quieted down for a few minutes, but started up again. I think it was around 11 pm that I made my second call. Then it calmed down for a few hours. I was woken up again, however, at 2:46 am by the same thing, and called the desk then and again shortly after 3 am upon which time I was told that the police had been called. It was not until about 3:40 am that police showed up and finally got rid of the disruptive person. Then I was not able to go back to sleep until about 4:30 am because of everything that had happened. I had to be up at 7:00 am but was so tired I ended up getting a late start on my day, completely exhausted. I mentioned this when I went downstairs to check out. While the staff was apologetic, I was not offered anything in consideration of this horrible experience. I would have appreciated either preferably that the unruly person being kicked out sooner (i.e. around 11 pm rather than in the 2:45-3:45 am timeframe), being offered to move to a different room out of the vicinity of the disturbance, or at least the next day being offered a free breakfast or some kind of discount on a future stay to acknowledge my troubles. read more
