I don't write many reviews and I hope this one does Ed and his team justice because 5 stars is not nearly enough for what this firm has done for me, but WOW! He won't nickel and dime you and will tell it to you as it is, whether it's what you want you want to hear or not. Philip Harris is not an attorney. He could not represent me in court. Instead, he sent another attorney to represent me, and she didn't know anything about my case. Philip was good at asking for additional retaining fees, which ended up costing me more, if I went to a respectful law firm. Could not get worse, the office equipment is antiquated, and as slow, as the response offered by Mr. Harris, whom will be doing what little work on your case, that he does not recruit you to do yourself by saying that you have homework to do for him. It is my belief that Mr. Harris is not a lawyer but at best a paralegal and you will never see a lawyer in that office ever. When I was there I was lucky to make it out, the disorganization and clutter with piles upon piles of files stacked in every available space, tipped over with papers spilling out over the floor where more files fill the whole of the floor space. Save your money use the self- help facilitator at the court house they can tell you what forms need to be filed they will review them after you have them complete, and that's about all MR. Wrong attorney for any case. Mr. Phill Harris the old man attorney is very nice when it comes to asking a retainer fee which was pretty high no budget . His Secretary is also nice from the start. PHILL ask for another 1,500 and another 1500. Then when it comes to court date phill sends a different attorney in his place , he then says the attorney going in my place is an expert in your case. That attorney end up savataheing my case. Then that attorney was no where to be found. Phill Harris said I don't understand what happened. Not a good explanation. He then closed the case and went on to the next client ready to ripp them off too. Never trust Phill Harris as your attorney to handle your case , don't fall for what he says " God bless your heart" as he's taking your money . He's not to be trusted with sensitive cases that have to do with Law. He probably has a budget licence to conduct legal matters. He has been reported to Sacramento BBB and Ripp off website . He went along and stated to keep looking for other attorneys if I had no luck, to call him back and he would make time to see me. I called back and and left a message. Spoke with Phil this morning and he was completely rude. Told me he couldn't help me asked if I had a quick question he could answer or he would hang up... I completed 2 cases with their office; a divorce with custody and a bankruptcy. Everyone that helped me (Phil, Gloria, Timothy, Robert T., Robert & Claudia) were very knowledgeable and helpful. The first day I sat down with Phil I explained to him my issues and I told him I wanted the shortest route to my end result. He explained how we could get there and everything he told me happened exactly as he said it would. I do believe that I paid a lot less going through their office then I would have going through a law firm. I would say that they are very busy and their time is valuable. So be prepared with your list of questions whether in person or on the phone. My divorce took about 1 year to be completed and my bankruptcy about 10 months. They are very familiar with the courts and who works there. I appreciate them and am very pleased with how things ended. I would recommend them to anybody. read more

I have never given a review before this is my first time. Having said that, I had such a terrible experience over the phone. If I could give 0 stars I would. I called to get more information on the process if I chose this place and the process. I was being rushed off the phone. I let the guy I talk to know that I have called around and I am trying to find the best place. I looked them up online and I am ready to get the process started. He kept saying I could come in for a free consultation and I was asking him if they did consultations over the phone. To which he responded, "Ma'am you are in Seal Beach you are 2 miles away." I told him that I have my kids at home with me during the day. I don't mind getting a babysitter and coming in, but of course if they do offer phone consultations I would love to take advantage of that. After I told him that I keep my kids at home he said "Ma'am maybe you should find someone else; sorry I couldn't serve you." How rude! I am all about getting a great price, but not if that means sacrificing customer service. With all the bad reviews on here I guess I am not the only one. I called seeking a divorce attorney and the man I spoke with was rude and hung up on me. I tried to call back and was unable to get through the next couple of times. When I finally got through, I was told they are currently not averting any new cases. I sent an e-mail to the firm and told them about my experience and was told that because they receive so many calls it is necessary to be curt. I never got to the point of figuring out what their fees are but do not expect good service here. read more

I originally hired Budget legal to respond to a divorce matter back in Oct of 2015 the response did not get sent to the opposing law firm till Feb 2 2016, I let it go as they are very busy!Hmmm?. Then in Nov 2015 I had given another $2500.00 to investigate some fraudulent activity on my Personal,and Business accounts? This is where it gets real ugly. I was asked in Nov for a cash payment from Mr Lia himself to meet at the bank of a $1000.00? (and this is the only time I ever seen him again) the rest were given to Mr. harris(paralegal)$1500.00, He kept explaining to me that that investigation takes time as he was going back and fourth with the bank for months given me bits and pieces of information so I waited again?. At this time nothing was getting done for my divorce or the investigation so I hired another Attorney in Jan 2016. So after asking several weeks for the files for my new Law firm I discovered not only did Mr. Harris never started a claim or subpoena to the bank in question?, for what he promised to do. he continued to claim he had sent the proper notes to the new attorney(which had never received the notes regarding the bank investigation! So I investigated further dealing with the bank Executive branch, they also have no such records of Mr.harris or Mr Lia ever contacting them. After contacting Mr Harris about this issue several times he said the new attorney must have lost them? Shame! on this Law Firm I trusted them with not only with hours and hours of my time but several thousand of dollars of wasted time and money!! Mr Harris for your failure beyond words and unprofessional type conduct. Ending with this I finally started investigation this firm and low and behold!! Not only are they on Ripoff report several times and poor reviews on yelp and God knows where else but they had their license revoked in 2004 for two years? for ripping people off!!I should have did my homework:( read more

If zero stars were available this business would be applicable. First off you will never get a return call. If you are able to speak to them they will promise to call you back which they don't or have you call back and then guess what no answer or return call. They will tell you that their services are all inclusive but they are not. Each time you call back to update legal documents they will say did you pay me for that. The best word to describe them is SHADY. Just remember you get what you pay for. And If you call them out they curse at yoy, call you other names and hang up the phone On you like a child.
