And as long as they were there, I wanted them to go around my house and repair any mortar between stones that looked like it was cracked or failing. I also had them replace a lintel under a bay window. Nick, at Tapping Trowel, matched the original mortar so close you'd need to really look closely to notice a difference. They did all the work in one day - and they did an amazing job not destroying our gardens. I'm very impressed

Extremely frustrating experience. This group does not have the experience or aptitude for higher…read moreend work. This was not a small project - about 4-6 weeks of work. Owner is a nice guy but.... The work was very inconsistent. The mortar varies in color throughout the work, which was on three sides of the home. The joint lines in the first phase look like the work of inexperience. The mortar lines are very sloppy - they missed many. Less than a year later, there are many areas that the mortar has failed. We have stone wall caps, that were to be reset, per the quote. They were not...perhaps two small pieces were. These top caps were loose within a week after they left. This spring the mortar is literally falling out of the joints. With the multiple issues of the mortar color - some of the worse are these bluestone caps. They used a white mortar that looks ridiculous. They didn't lift the caps to replace the failed mortar under them. They just re-pointed them from the sides.....not even taking the time to straighten them. These guys need to use levels, tap measures and have better eyes. Lastly was the overall worksite management. They maybe cleaned up 70% of the way. Left a mess around the work areas. They need to sue tarps to protectbthe area. We are still picking up pieces of mortar on the ground. Parked on our lawn, after I asked them not to. Used a path in the lawn, that was just reseeded and that had to be redone. We trimmed some shrubs near the work for them. I asked them to let me know if they needed more space. No word about it from them....they just broke off the limbs of our mature shrubs bothering them. Warranty? Apparently not. Nick stopped returning texts and messages. I expect he is embarrassed and doesn't want to deal with the re-work needed. He should be embarrassed, but he should also step up and be responsible for these issues. Again....nice guy but

This is my second project I hired Dahl's for and again I was not disappointed. Since my job was a…read moresmaller one, I made sure to get under contract before the season was on us, which meant I could be fitted in between larger jobs, and sooner than if I had waited to book them. They show up on time, ask me good questions and make sure I am happy all along the process, and they do a great job! If not for the straw laid down to help the grass seed, I would not see any signs of their work due to the cleanup they are careful about. Thank you to Steven, Nate and Brandon for their hard work and kindness all along. I had paving stones similar to my last project, so see the photos for examples. This time the work was in a different area of the yard, and it is covered up with straw so pictures don't do much good. However, trust me when I say it is quality work. I highly recommend Dahl's, but get on the schedule asap as they fill up for the season faster than you would hope.

We were very pleased with their expertise and detailed work. They were always on time, cleaned up their workplace and kept us in the loop along the way. The team did a fantastic job and provided high quality work. It's been almost 8 years and we haven't had an issue with our patio or the work they did. We look forward working with them again this year on a different project.

The outreach…read morewas done via a form on their REAL website (not the site on the response, which doesn't work). Initially, they said they didn't get it. Sent a second to see if it was a communication problem (trying to help them here). Then, they "magically" found the first one (it's a Google Form. Google Forms send you an email. So basically, they weren't paying attention to email like businesses should, that's why they missed it. They were expecting text messages or something, which we don't do (and shouldn't have to). Gave a half-hearted "shrug" apology over it, didn't make any attempt to make it right, instead sent an email refusing the job with no reason given (chances are they got salty over the review). No further replies on the message. Bottom line: technology is a challenge for them as is customer service. So we still don't recommend them and won't. Not until they work to fix what they got wrong. Feedback: When YOU drop the ball, own it, and do right by the customer to earn their business. Also, if you don't know how to work your technology, get help. We actually do it for a living - it's not that hard, but it's rather important you understand how to work your tech to make sure you're not losing potentially valuable bids.

Very Disappointed!!!! Will redid my driveway. It looked…read moregood after it had been poured and finished. I paid Will after the job was done and did not get a receipt. I emailed and called requesting a copy of the quote/bill showing "paid in full" or a "balance of zero". I never received a response. About two months after the pour I noticed that a small area of the concrete's surface was spalling (starting to flake away) exposing the granular concrete underneath. According to the Family Handyman, "If your driveway surface has spalling concrete, the most likely cause is an installation mistake." (https://www.familyhandyman.com/project/how-to-fix-concrete-spalling/). Hopefully this is an isolated area but from what I've read about spalling, I'll likely be resurfacing my NEW driveway.

I didn't want to write a negative review, however, I need to warn other customers about this as I…read moreeven had to file a BBB complaint. We used Concrete by Will in June 2019 for garage floor, driveway, steps, and sidewalk. He left the job very sloppy. We had concrete splattered all over our house, gutters, and garage door (see attached pictures). He did curbs for the end of our driveway and they are two different heights, the driveway lines are crooked (see pictures). In March of 2020, less than a year our driveway and staircase began crumbling. There were pits all over the driveway. I emailed Will for 1.5 years before he FINALLY came out. He "fixed" the concrete and honestly it looks even worse than before (see picture of repair job). He was accusing us of using salt on the driveway which is NOT true. I spoke with a concrete expert who looked at our driveway and it was from a bad concrete mix/pour. These are surface voids. The most common causes for surface voids are entrapped air, the improper use of release agents or excess water within the concrete mix. It created air pockets and made pits all over. It is unfortunate that we paid a lot of money for a concrete driveway that should have lasted 30 years and we will be lucky if this driveway lasts us 5 years as it has been 3 years and looks completely awful. Since Will doesnt want to take responsiblity for the quality of his work then he left me no choice but to leave this review to let others know to stay away! Once he gets your money, he isnt going to do anything about it. So if you use him, just be prepared for your driveway to look like this within the next couple years!
