Over the past few months, I continued receiving treatment, and I did feel some improvement in my pain. However, the situation became uncomfortable when I asked for medical documentation for my lawyer. The practitioner told me it would take a lot of time to prepare the paperwork and asked if I could wait until my treatment was finished. Later, after speaking with my lawyer, I was told the acupuncture documentation wasn't necessary. When I returned for my next appointment, things took a strange turn. The practitioner was suddenly very flustered about the car accident being involved, even though I had been upfront about it from the start. She showed me her notes, which claimed that I said I didn't know the source of my pain--completely contradicting what I had told her. I just came back to pick up some of my favorite cough syrup, Nin Jion Pei Pa Koa ($5.10 tax included). Nin Jion is the manufacture and Pei Pa Koa is the traditional name and this medicine is made with natural herbs, honey and loquat. The dosage is a tablespoon but I always measure the dosage as one pho soup spoon. The funny thing is that I was visiting my Taiwanese friend at her parent's place in the SGV and they have the same cough medicine on their counter. DISCLAIMER: I just want to quickly include that I am not any type of doctor and this medicine is NOT FDA APPROVED but it has been working for centuries so I can care less since it always work with me. The traditional Chinese doctor/Herbalist comes on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons if you want to come in for a pulse check and have them prescribe you with some eastern herbs. I actually prefer this over western medicine because it treats you without the side effects and there is a balance of elements in the prescription. For instance some people have too much yin already so to prescribe them with more yin elements it could actually do more harm even if the herbs itself should cure the illness. A better prescription would have yang herbs to balance with the yin herbs to give the body its' harmony.
