Chori happened to be close to our hotel so headed over for an early dinner on Thursday around 6:30…read more The place was empty but right before ordering noticed "reserved" signs were being placed on the tables. Turned out a couple of Food tours were arriving soon. Lucky we were ordering takeaway. Smaller spot with just about an equal amount of in/outdoor seating. We ordered a couple of the Guest Chori's-The Juan Pedro Caballero (pork) and the Carneceria (beef). Juan Pedro had tortilla chips and peppers and the pork chorizo sausage was saltier than the beef. We ordered a Chimichurri sauce on the side and enjoyed it. We liked the Pork more than the Beef-just was more flavorful. The Bread was thick, soft and held up to the Choripan and condiments well. Potato salad with al dente potatoes was tasty. They also have beer and cocktails so ordered a Gin and Tonic while we waited for our order. Friendly people behind the counter. Food was ready in about 15 minutes. That said, I can see they could get busy and have longer wait times. Make this stop for local grilled sausage deliciousness.

They served mostly chori and one morci (blood) sausage sandwiches but with a twist with their toppings. You could get just the sandwich or combine with side and drink. I picked the Invitado Juan Pedro Caballero and the cashier hesitated before entering the order as she wanted me to know it was picante. I assured her it was not a problem and then paid with my credit card. After a short wait, they called my name and I picked up my choripan. it was quite the handful filled with layers of roasted peppers, tortilla chips, onions and lettuce. The tortilla chips were stale but overall I liked the flavors especially with the heat from the peppers and chipotle mayo. It was a nice twist on the popular choripan.

Menu is expansive and nicely organized, with vegan and gluten-free options highlighted. There are so many healthy smoothies to choose from, and looking around, seems like a popular spot for dessert as well. Free bread and hummus is given, as well as a shot of fresh berry lemonade. Yum! I ordered the black pepper tofu which came with a side of tabouli, russet fries and seasonal veggies. The plate was beautifully presented, so many colors! The food was super light with a great mix of flavors and different textures. I also ordered a smoothie made with almond milk, Colombian coffee, banana and lemon. It tasted more like lemon and banana, I wish there was more coffee flavor, but I still happily slurped it down. Service was friendly and the atmosphere is lovely and quaint. Of course, it's not cheap, but it's not expected to be. Totally worth it, if you ask me. Definitely recommended if you're veg, or even a meat eater looking to try something different! I'll be trying their Palermo location soon.

Several sources of protein too, not just soy meat substitutes. It isn't exclusively vegan but there are many vegan, celiac and 'raw' options. Had the vegetarian locro which was excellent, and tried several soups and desserts.

The ambiance is very chill, colorful and quaint. Service wasn't too bad, although we were the only people there. I ordered the thali plate which came with ginger rice, sauteed mixed veggies, a beet salad, 2 fritters and some bread. I wasn't a fan of the beet salad, and the veggies smelled a bit spoiled. Everything else I happily munched down. Prices are decent considering anything exotic here has a high markup. I spent $400 ($20 USD as of Feb 2018) which included some tasty ginger lemonade. Altogether, a fine experience. I would return if in the mood for Indian food.

I ordered a tofu steak with veggies and a millet crocket. I usually like Krishna food and search it out as it is veggie and karma free, so i was very disappointed by every entry, the tofu steaks were so greasy they were swimming in some unidentifiable oil, the millet cockets had no flavor at all just some crunchy substance and the side dish of the daily veg was to salty and unidentifiable. left a tip thinking how we should be nice to people who need it the most and the older waiter gentleman definitely needed it. will not go there again.
