Good things? Front desk was nice and not a long wait. My C-section scar looks nice. Bad things? Despite a wonderful pregnancy (not getting sick, no ER visits, no significant pain), I did not gain any weight in my last trimester. I questioned it but was assured everything was OK. The day before my due date, I thought I was leaking. I contacted the office and was told to come in but then again was ASSURED that everything was OK and to come back in 4 days for a sonogram. At that sonogram (3 days after my due date..) I had NO amniotic fluid left. None. Was told to go to the hospital. Once at the hospital they had to induce me and I had to go through what seemed like torture so the in-house doctor could try to put saline where my amniotic fluid should have been. My husband had to finally step in and tell them to stop. My baby's heart rate dropped about 60bpm with every contraction I had. I was brought in for an emergency C-section because he was in distress. Then he was in the NICU x8 days. Also, he only weighed 5lb12oz at 3 days post due date. Hmm.. My other issue? His circumcision was done in the NICU on day 3. I wondered why he was bleeding so much, but when I spoke with the neonatologist on day 4, he was upset because MY BABY'S PLATELETS WERE LOW. Hmm..no wonder he was bleeding so much after a major surgery on a newborn in the NICU. I also had a contact dermatitis, unsure of what from ALL OVER my abdomen, up onto my breasts and around my scar. I was in the hospital and my OB could not call in a dermatologist? They told me to put a topical cortisone cream on (which I did) but after day 3 of intense itching (I swear that was even worse than the C-section), I had my internal medicine doctor call in a steroid taper because I knew I needed a systemic steroid. That took care of it. I honestly question this practice. I was very happy with them through the pregnancy but it seems like if something goes "wrong" they do not know what to do. Very upset and am changing practices. Women need to know that this CAN happen. I think the doctors are NICE, yes, but I question the medical knowledge behind the nice face. read more

The wait times from check in to exam room are very long. One of my office visits I waited one hour to be taken back to the exam room, then I waited another 15 minutes before a nurse came in the exam room and then waited another 25 before a doctor came in to see me. Not only did I wait one hour 40 minutes total before seeing the doctor but she left the room to go back into another patients room after a quick explanation that they were running behind. I waited another 10 minutes for her to come back just to tell me they couldn't do what I came to the office for that day. I was more than annoyed because I had spent almost 2 hours at the office and didnt recieve any services. Another time I waited 40 minutes in the waiting room before taken back to an exam room. The office is unorganized as far as what procedures you are having performed that day. The only positive is the doctors and staff are friendly but I would not reccomend going to Buffalo OB/GYN. I have only been to 3 appointments with them thus far and two were inexcusable wait times, also their one bathroom I used smells like someone urinated all over and it was left to marinate for months. I plan on finding a new OB/GYN ASAP. I miss my old gynecologist office that doesn't accept my new insurance plan :( Women's Suburban was the best if anyone's looking for a reccomendation! read more

Wouldn't recommend to first time moms. Feels more like a cattle range than a doctor's office. No compassion, just rush you out. My concerns weren't concerns to them. Forced to quit my career at 8 months pregnant because they refused to sign me out of work, after throwing up non stop for months and in such great pain. The receptionist said to me "Well do you have to work?" What an idiodic question. They just want to give you pills and send you on your way (even after I expressed I wasn't a pill person). I went in for severe pain in my side. I had a deficiency which caused confusion and minor memory loss at the time. I brought a male friend with me, I sighn off for him to be present. The nurse was passive aggressive, to nasty towards him and i. I told her I was not interested in birth control and came only to investigate my pain. She was insensitive towards my relationship with him after I said we weren't married, she then said she was "pro life" after unquireing my view on it, and later she told me she was a Catholic/Christian, which explained her disgust and opinion about my friend and i. During the exam they left my friend in the lobby, never brought him back in. I had a mental breakdown down during it, she gave me numbers for free counseling at various churchs; She asked if my boyfriend had been abusing me, which no, he wasnt. I had the same exact exam a year before I did not need another. I was so confused I was not aware that I evidently agreed to it. I went in again later for a ultrasound which proved inconclusive. She again said birth control is wonderful and will fix all my problems. I insisted I did NOT want birth control. She ignored me, She got the pills rambling on how to take them, stateing that the only way to test for endometriosis was to be on birth control for 5 MONTHS and see if I "felt better". Googleing will show you that is not the case, and hormone therapy only masks the symptoms. I blurted out I had chest pain and couldn't take them. She was displeased by this, and basically said she couldn't do anything for me. About half a year later I get a call asking if I will be comeing for another sonogram on my ovary, to check on the cyst. I did not go back. I don't know about the other staff, but this one experience made me feel used violated and furious. the desk staff were great, the other nurse was great, but this nurse needs to keep her faith seperate from her work, is grossly obstinate and tried to bully me into birthcontrol. I had been at my previous OB since I was 17 and then had a high risk pregnancy so was sent to this group. I was so nervous to switch but ended up loving each and every OB in the group. I had to be closely monitored during the whole pregnancy and ended up on hospital bedrest so got to know each doctor pretty well. They all along with their office staff were so helpful, thorough, and kind. Definitely a great group! read more

WORST OBGYN in the Buffalo NY Area. I have a disease called PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) and I had the worst experiences there. The doctors are not courteous. The nurses aren't. None of the staff was. The receptionist even had a low cut blouse that showed her breast pushed up like it was in a bustier of some sort. But that's beside the point. I saw doctor Nylander and Nurse practitioner Pazik. Long story short, the doctor told me that I wasn't in pain. SHE told ME, the patient. And refused to give me the medicine I needed for my syndrome. I spent $75 that day on an unnecessary ultrasound. They wanted me to come back to spend another $75 the next day. I got agitated and basically begged for the medicine I needed to relieve my symptoms. They wouldn't budge. Note: it wasn't any type of pain medicine. My mother was with me and ended up arguing with the staff. I later got a bogus letter in the mail telling me that they would no longer be able to provide medical care to me. I've never felt so insulted. DON'T GO HERE. I WOULDN'T recommend this polished crap facility to ANYONE! read more

The only thing good this place has going for them are the nice ladies at the front desk. They remembered me and the doctors didn't. I'd wait 20 minutes in the room to see the doctor who spent 5 minutes with me. It felt so rushed like they didn't care at all. It was my first pregnancy and I had a lot of questions but they couldn't get out of the room fast enough. It was an awful experience. When I had the baby the doctor at the hospital who delivered actually said to me "I don't recognize you" what a horrible feeling. When I went for my 6 week check up they asked how the twins were doing- I didn't have twins! On top of this awful experience we had numerous billing issues! Double billed, billing when the insurance already paid them, and most recently I checked my credit score and see they sent me to collections!! I was livid. I've paid every bill in full and on time! I never saw this bill, they never sent a letter, and never called. Apparently this was from my first sonogram, I was in the office for 9 months after! If the bill wasn't paid why didn't anyone say anything before just sending it to collections. Come to find out after calling my old insurance company that the doctors office never provided them the proper documentation. The insurance company had numerous attempts logged of them trying to get the information so they could pay the bill. This is over a year old now and I'm still trying to deal with the billing issues they caused!! If you are considering them for a doctor and this is your first (or any number) pregnancy RUN AWAY! This is honestly the worst experience I've ever had with a doctor! read more

I've been going to Buffalo OBGYN for a few years now. Some of the doctors are great, some aren't so much. The wait time is very long, even if they aren't over booked. It's normal to wait 30-45 minutes after your appt time to see a doctor. read more

HORRIBLE AND LAZY GYNO's. I have been a patient here for 3 years and a birth control that I was responding well to was no longer available at my pharmacy. I tried other pharmacies and they were not able to get it either. I asked Elaine (my NP there) what birth controls were similar to the current one I was on. She suggested one and said it was IDENTICAL to my other one so I switched to her suggestion. After about 4 months of being on that birth control, I gained 50 lbs. I called Buffalo OB/GYN and spoke to Elaine. I asked her if I should switch birth controls again or if this weight gain will come off over time and I should just give it a chance. She said that it was fine and that I shouldn't be gaining weight because it was identical to my previous birth control. So I stuck it out. Now, here I am, almost 100 lbs heavier. After calling several times asking what I should do, she insisted that it was fine and that I should try working out more, when I'm a healthy, 19 yr old that's pretty active. After months of being frustrated, I finally went online and did some research. I compared my old birth control (the one that I responded well to without any weight gain) to my current birth control and THEY'RE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. THEY HAVE DIFFERENT HORMONE LEVELS AND EVERYTHING but she assured me that they were IDENTICAL. I went to the pharmacy and asked the pharmacist about the two birth controls that i researched and she confirmed my research and said that they're completely different. She said that she wouldn't even prescribe that as a substitute for my previous one that I was no longer able to get. My pharmacist even told me to switch OB/GYN's due to the inaccurate information and lack of care I was receiving. Elaine is a horrible, lazy, old woman that does NOT care about her patients. I was a patient at Buffalo OB/GYN for about two years. Before I was at Buffalo be GYN I was a patient at Buffalo medical group I. I absolutely love loved it there. I had a marina placed while I was a patient at Buffalo medical group. For five years I had that marina and had no problems. When I got to Buffalo OB/GYN and had my annual done. The nurse practitioner knocked my marina out she did not know she knocked it out and I went home in a lot of pain I did not find out until two days later that she had knocked it out. That was only after an ultrasound confirmed that she knocked it out. This was not a big deal because my five years were up and I need to get a new one anyways. The big deal came when they tried placing it not one not two not three but four times and told me that they could not place it because I had a tilted uterus is. I come to find out after getting a second opinion and going through a lot of pain because above the OB/GYN that I did not have a tilted uterus that I have a deep uterus which is 11 inches deep. They did not know that it was not placing the marina in the right place. Dr. Williams had told me that I should have sterilization done because I could not have another marina because of my tilted uterus. That was not the case after getting a second opinion and finding out that I have a deep uterus I did get a marina place. I will never go back to Buffalo OB/GYN. They put me through so much unnecessary that wasn't even need it. I now only saw a nurse practitioner while a patient at Buffalo be GYN I saw a doctor too. My recommendation is to not go to Buffalo OB/GYN. I felt they did not care for me as a patient every time I would call knowing that something was wrong I felt I was put on the back burner and no one cared. Also I almost did get sterilization done and if it wasn't for the second opinion I would've got sterilization done which put me at high risk of having complications because of the surgery. Buffalo OB/GYN did not tell me that they told me everything would be fine. Also they never confirmed that I had a tilted uterus is the only way to confirm it is by doing an alter sound. Again do not go to Buffalo OB/GYN they are a horrible medical group. read more
