The cheese balls were delicious, a little different from the pão de queijo I'm used to but still melt-in-your-mouth good. The picanha was accompanied with rice and salad (it comes with beans too, but I opted out) and was cooked perfectly! The Guarana soda was delicious as always. However the Brigadeiro was phenomenal! This is a private business that's a welcome center, restaurant/cafe, and lodge with cabin style rooms to stay and enjoy the birds. Everything here is bird-centric and you'll see tons so if you love them, this is a must-stop. We only came for the day and started with a visit to the cafe for burgers and drinks. Even in the dining areas the birds will come up to you. The gift shop is large with lots of souvenirs. The highlight is buying a tray of bird seed, where you'll be immediately inundated with parrots and other birds fighting over the seeds. It's amazing to see them so close up. They have an airplane that tells the story of a crash on the mountain decades ago. They have restrooms as well. From the center, there is a forest walk that's worth it to get closer to nature. At the end there is a botanical garden you can explore, and a tree top walk with bridges pretty high up. On one especially tall tree, there are ladders that go into the canopy to get amazing views of the valley and far off mountains. It's worth the climb! If you're in the area, this is a must visit special place. You can either spend the day, or stay a night or two if you want to experience natural Australia.

It's a nice hotel, very well situated…read more Light rail literally stops in front of the hotel, so you can take the Brisbane Airtrain, transfer to light rail, and get right to the hotel for about $50 all in. Or, take the Airtrain to the Narang station (closest to hotel) and then catch an Uber. That's about $10 more in total, but also a bit faster. The hotel has a nice restaurant area. Very open, well-lit, and right next to the pool. Breakfast buffet is well stocked with a huge variety of pretty much whatever you want, including fried rice. I'm oryzivorous, so I appreciate fried rice any time. You can also order custom omelets if the steam-tray scrambled eggs don't suit your taste. I went here for a conference (both last time and this), and found the facilities very nice. Unlike many venues, you don't have to walk a mile from your room to the conference center. The beach is about four blocks from the front door, around the corner. So, with light rail on one side and the beach on the other, it's a great location. There's also an airport in Gold Coast, just down the street. But there aren't a lot of flights, so if you miss a connection, there may be added hassle. Just a note for the wary traveler. One final note for no apparent reason: The room keys are wooden with the chip inside. Kinda pointless and cool.

We didn't need reservations. You can pick either 25 or 50 minute sessions. No feeding the cats but you can pick them up (except Harry because he is a delicate mini cat). We had lattes which were fantastic! The session went by so quickly. Because they are cats they might be sleepy and aren't friendly on demand- this will happen at literally every cat cafe, but just be prepared and remember they are CATS not circus animals! I would recommend they add a small library so that people can sit and read on the couches next to the cats, and maybe switch to a per hour cost in case people wanted to stay longer.

She made our drinks quickly and we were off to petting and holding cats once we read and signed a sign in list with some additional guidance. The basics were "don't rough house the cats, and wash your hands before you go in". There were almost 20 cats who were very well taken care of. You can tell the cats get the right vet care and check ups by their looks and that we were told to not handle certain cats because they were in the middle of treatments. The location wasn't crowded and the cats did not seem stressed out with our interactions. Overall it was a chill vibe and everyone was respectful. Beware that there is the creepiest horror film bathroom ever shared by the building. It really adds to the whole experience, nice cherry on top. Great drinks, great cat company and fair prices (25$ for around 50 minutes).

I just came back from a lovely first family getaway (it's been two years in the making!). Excuse…read morethe long review. We decided to visit Peppers Salt Resort and Spa at Kingscliff after hearing rave reviews and they weren't wrong! It was a great place to visit with the kids - they had a ball. I have a 2 year old and an 8 month old. It is probably aimed at families visiting with older kids (e.g. 7+) but we still loved it. They have two fantastic pool areas - a Tropical pool, which gets sun most of the day and has a spa area and the vast Lagoon pool, which includes sand, plunge pools and also a spa. It features deck chairs in the sand area, where cocktails can be ordered from the bar and brought over to you. We purchased a package with two rooms and a bath spa. It overlooked the Tropical pool. I believe all rooms feature at least a pool view. When we opened our front door, it had a foyer area with another two main doors behind it, so it could be split...if you were visiting with friends. One side of the resort is a Quiet area, so if you were looking at visiting for a bit of peace and quiet, you can do that too. Our package also included a buffet breakfast daily. What I really enjoyed about this, was the fact that everything was freshly made...including the eggs - no powered egg here. They also offer in-house movies for free, which means you can watch most of the recent rentals for free! This was great for when the kids were in bed. We had to visit the GP for a sudden rash that developed with my daughter while there (turned out to be a sunscreen allergy) and the reception staff were great. They rang around and found someone who could fit us in and then told us where to go. Everything is in walking distance for your convenience. This includes, the beach (not flagged though), a pub which has a great playground for kids, restaurants, a gelato shop, hair salon, bottle shop and IGA for your shopping needs. In comparison to the previous reviewer, we actually found the restaurants relatively priced but the prices of ordering room service or visiting in-house spa, quite pricey. We were also disappointed by the dessert menu available, so we didn't order in. Negatives to our stay: - Bad internal communication. I had run up weeks in advance to be assured they had a cot for our room. I was reassured there was one but when I arrived, they had the notes but they hadn't been passed onto room keeping, so they had to bring up a cot. Similarly, they one of us listed for breakfast, instead of 4. - Really poor signage. The signage in the place was really disappointing. I'd expect more. You had to navigate for yourself out of the lift, just to find the reception. Similarly, you had to guess where the Tropical pool was located and if the Season restaurant was where you were meant to have breakfast. I didn't even try to find the gym! - Noise can carry and we unfortunately had a group who wanted to party above our place one night while our young kids were trying to sleep. I know this can't really be helped by the resort. - We had swimmers fall over the balcony, which of course was once again our fault but normally you could go get them yourself from where they fell. In this case, we had to ring reception and trouble the guests that were staying below just to retrieve them because they fell into their 'private' but not so private plunge pool area. Positives: - Facilities, including individual room facilities - Capsule coffee machine in room (but only first two capsules were free) - Didn't have to bring own cot, had highchairs - Walking distance to everything - In-room movies - The staff really do go out of their way for you

Nothing was ever too much trouble, she went above and beyond to ensure that our day was perfect, and the staff were all fantastic! The area was beautiful, the resort was fantastic and definitely could not have found a better place to get married!
