We contacted Orkin because we had a pest issue under our house. We hoped they could address it, but…read morethe inspector claimed the problem was caused by mice. Although I was skeptical, I agreed to the service they recommended. The service involved redoing the attic insulation to fix the supposed mouse problem. When the technicians arrived, I asked if this would resolve the issue. They laughed and said what they were doing wouldn't fix the problem and that it was likely an animal under the house, which I suspected all along. Sure enough, within a few weeks, the problem was back. What they did didn't fix the issue. This means the inspector misled us into purchasing a service we didn't need. When setting up the contract, the inspector used an iPad with a PDF instead of a traditional contract. He quickly went through the details on the screen, making it hard to read, and assured us that the financing offered was interest-free and could be paid back as we were able. However, we later discovered the financing had a high interest rate and fixed payment terms--not what he had promised. In summary, the inspector lied twice: first, about the actual pest issue to sell us unnecessary services, and second, about the financing terms to encourage us to agree. We were left with a costly service that didn't address the original problem.
