More enchanting welcoming you just have to experience this. I was there on Saturday that just passed and I took my BF daughter there as she has never been. WOW she was very excited and picked out some neat things for the Easter Bunny to bring. There is a great section of travelling games they actually had the travelling hang man game and gee I would like that for the car as I hate to go on drives and it was under $15. In the back of one of the sections there is a small adult section with a big comfy chair that you can enjoy while your child is enjoying all the great surprises around the corner.

I was admittedly drawn to it because of the giant lollipops on the walls outside and their bubble machine that blew bubbles into the street, lol. The store sells candies and gifts. They have cool greeting card and unique gifts like mugs with funny sayings on them. They also have locally sourced items like jams and pickles made in Nova Scotia. Fun store to poke around. You have to know where to look or you will miss it for sure. I happened to meet the owner Mike. A pretty relaxed guy, I guess you would have to be in this business. I have never seen so many comics in my life. This store is jammed packed full of adventure of all kinds, there is not an ounce of space not used. Mike has been at this location for about 4 years, but has been in the business for much longer. This store is know by an elite group of people already. You will find your new and used Comic Books, Game Boards, Graphic Novels (20% off) always, Action Figures, Card Games. I am probably missing a lot, but lets just say, Mike has it. Now, I have to say, it is worth the venture to see the Statue of Yoda (look at the picture attached). It is fantastic. Life Sized!! Who knew Comics had such a large following. Well they do! I asked if they had any Archie comic books for sale and I was directed toward some and was told that they were selling old Archie books for $1.00 each. I couldn't believe my ears. I excitedly asked where I could find them and I bought five of them. I've loved the Archie books since I was a kid (before the terrible television show Riverdale came out). I thanked the store employee for being so helpful and he introduced me to their adorable dog who I now follow on Instagram. The dog's Instagram handle is @strangegromit. Please give this dog a follow. He's SO CUTE! While he isn't always at the store, if you go every day like I did while I was in Halifax, you're bound to run into him at some point.

The first thing that struck me was the lovely smell when I stepped into the warm store - it smelled like lavender and that delightful fresh baby scent that all newborns seem to have. I was greeted promptly and took my time perusing the selections. They have a huge array of soft reusable diapers as well as lots of books, both educational for parents-to-be and playful stories for young kiddies. They have lots of wares to make new parents comfortable, like baby slings and cozy blankets. This is a great place to go if you're expecting or you know someone with a bun in the oven. You'll find an educated staff able to support you and offer you assistance with great products designed to help out with the rough and tumble, exciting journey of parenthood.

Here's what I knew: this small shop on the corner of Portland and Wentworth was hosting an extensive half-price sale on their comic books and graphic novels. Here's what I didn't know: that the sale was combined with a 'take one for free' deal. So, there I am, looking through the collection to pick out the first comic I've bought since my youth, and I land on a very cool Marvel Origins book that basically outlines...uh...the origins of all the great heroes. $30, half-off, a hella deal. As any customer would, I take it to the counter, ready to take advantage of the promotion when the guy says, "Cool. Enjoy." and slides it back over to me. Intelligent and articulate as I could be, I said something along the lines of, "Buuuuaaahh huh?" Yep - apparently I could have taken it home for free. Just 'cause. I mean, that's not even a sale. That's just free awesome stuff, right? Am I crazy? Anyhow, since taking it would have made me feel like a shoplifter, I picked out a cheaper comic as a freebie and paid $13 for the big one. Any shop literally shoving free product in my hand seriously deserves some of my cash. I still got a crazy deal but avoided the guilt of being the biggest freeloading first-time customer ever. So one day, Gayle and I were walking from the Cruise ship to Dalhouise (to explore campus), we came upon Atlantic News. The place was loaded with various periodicals and I got to that point where there was too much to finish deciding. I left with a weekend Global and Mail, and copies of Canadian Geographic, Macleans, Canadian Art, and more. You don't find a store like this much anymore.
