When I called about this, the guy told me that he could have it redone and set to me in another 10 to 14 days. I asked about getting it sooner, I was told that it was going to cost me extra. When I sent the image of what I wanted on my License Plate, I made sure the color codes matched the text I added to go along with it, but for some reason... the text came out a different color "red" than the rest of the image on the Plate when both colors were supposed to be exactly the same color red. lol Besides that, the rest was great. I'm not sure if this company has recently changed ownership, but things seem to be sliding downhill. I have probably spent 10k with them over the last 2-3 years on yard signs and banners and their customer service is awful. They routinely forget to put the metal stakes in the package with the yard signs and then ask that I prove that they were not received when I call to request the left out material (you're really making me jump through hoops for a metal stake that probably cost you l0 cents?) I recently had a sign that printed with the wrong art (their fault, not mine). I made 5-6 phone calls to request that the correct art be used and sent out to client ASAP. It took them over 10 days to send out the new sign (assuming 10 days, as I am still waiting). HORRIBLE customer service, I could have had it printed at Office Depot and walked it to my customer faster than that. I ordered a 10' banner that was supposed to print on both sides. They printed 2 separate banners (that's okay if you must) but then they stitched them together haphazardly. It was an embarrassment, plus it made the banner much heavier than it should have been had it printed on a single piece of vinyl. In years past I have been very happy with the quality etc..Something has changed for the worse. Time to look for a new vendor I guess. SAD read more

In the world of printing, every single error folks have come here to express their anger/anxiety/dissatisfaction/disappointment over can be explained by about a thousand issues that, and I hate to say it (but!), are user error. Orders that are pixelated can be the byproduct of low resolution, bad graphics work, or just simply not understanding what truly makes a good image at the size sometimes people want it. The printers have no vested interest (or time for that matter!) to make bad customer signage. They don't (and in many ways _can't_) alter the work that's submitted, so if a sign is crooked or the spacing is off, the only way that can happen is if the image that was sent has the same issue. Now, it might not be visible on a monitor that's older (not high res). Honestly, it could look beautiful and flawless, but that doesn't mean that when the image scales up it's going to parse. The only way a product gets better is if people understand what's necessary to make it what they want it to be. Other people are complaining about customer support and how there's a backlog of people waiting for help. Well, yes. It's only logical. Working in a timeframe that's Inter-COVID, printing of signage, even political, was never deemed a necessary business. All printing was this way until these companies started offering free prints for stores and such (those stickers you see on the floor in your Walmart telling you to keep six feet apart, for example), which allows them to operate in this capacity for you. But that also means that -- just like any other company -- they're working with a skeleton crew that's had to adjust with taking work from a corporate setting and making it work in their respective households. It's a huge undertaking, a giant shift in paradigm (again, almost every company, and just printing, is feeling this pain), so a person might have to wait a little longer, be a little more patient, but it's not a reflection on the company or their love and loyalty to their customers. Because moving beyond even the normalist circumstances, their commitment is 110%. I have experienced how hard everyone works to make Build-A-Sign a really top tier seller of many printed things! Have I had issues that took some education and commitment on my part to resolve (with the help of customer service)? Yes! But I wasn't alone in doing it, and now that I get all the ins and outs, I say with confidence that B-A-S is worth every penny!! And, I think that can be proven in one last way... B-A-S does thousands and thousands of print jobs a year (everything from real estate to household art!), but in all that work, you'll only find a small fraction of complaints. It's easier to search out a way to let a company know they've let you down, than it is to tell them that they've met your every expectation. Gratitude doesn't always end up in the places it should. We all work really hard, not just in our work lives, but in our personal ones, too, and living with a pandemic on our hands, it just adds another reason for us to all run around with our hair is on fire! So, coming here with kudos is kind of the last thing we have time for. However! I can not thank Build a Sign enough - I woke up the Saturday a week before a conference - with an email from another sign company that a couple of retractable banners were not going to make it in time - I used the on line design tool to design a banner and submit - a banner in about 30 min - for an order of 4 to be delivered by Friday - the art person send me a note on Saturday saying the resolution of one of the items was not high enough and I sent her the original images which she manipulate for me on Monday which was MLK day - everything was approved and they were delivered on Friday for my conference - they came out so well that the several of the lead supporters asked if they could take them back to their offices as a reminder of the day. This company said they would print a free banner (pay shipping only) for a navy program, I just needed to upload it into the system and call back to get the deal. So I had it ready to go as instructed, spent time having a designer create the graphic for it, got the design and shipping fee approved by leadership, then called back to complete the order and magically they aren't able to honor the deal. What a terrible product and terrible customer service! The first PVC sign I was sent did not even last through the shipping phase and turned up with an entire corner snapped off. I had ordered a 36 x 24 PVC commercial sign. They sent out a replacement which lasted only 3 days. There was a small rainstorm and the sign could not withstand that. The entire sign snapped in half. AFTER 3 DAYS! I reached out and asked if they could make me a sign on material that would last beyond 3 days and they said they were unable to provide that quality. I asked for a refund and they only offered a partial refund. This debacle went on for about 6 weeks. My business needs a sign out front and I have lost customers due to patiently waiting for BuildASign to resolve the situation. They failed to do so. Seriously, do not waste your time and money - they deliver a poorly made product that does not represent their guarantees on their website and trying to get your monies back is impossible. Very basic order. An aluminum sign (5" x 18") with some basic writing and a graphic from my clipart library. Basic. They send the sign inside a flimsy cardboard sleeve. Yes, a cardboard sleeve, nothing else. An aluminum sign. Might as well just put a label on the sign itself and toss it in the nearest mailbox because it would have been the same thing. Poor sign arrived more bent and twisted than a piece of twizzlers candy!! Apparently they cannot factor in their shipping methods all the other heavy boxes out there in the delivery universe that would have been thrown at, twisted and bent, my poor little sign. I run an art fair. I needed several signs for different things. When they arrived, I was very happy with their products. It's when one sign didn't arrive that things took a turn for the worst. 4 days past my expected delivery date it still had not been delivered. When I used their chat to check on the status of my order I was told - after a looooong wait - that they were just now making it - like they forgot to go make this one or something. She said they could put a rush on it but it would arrive the day after my event. I said that was not good. I really needed this sign. I was told it was impossible. Then they asked if I wanted to cancel my order. Yes! So, OK, they cancelled my order and issued a refund; apparently. And I should wait up to 10 days to get my money. 15 days later, still no refund. I called. Oh, well, they didn't actually process the refund until 6 days after I called and then I need to wait 15 business days to see my refund. They will now have had use of my money for well over a month and me without a sign. I had to go to a different company who COULD get me a sign on time. And, after going to them twice with issues, no one ever offered any explanation of why they failed to make my sign or ANY kind of APOLOGY for the stress and inconvenience they caused - and are still causing - still waiting for my money! read more

Way overpriced. I ordered a sign rider for a listing and it was around $40. Website was also a little difficult to tell which sign I was ordering. I needed one with holes and the one I got did not have any so I had to go buy a drill bit and put them in myself. I found a local place and the same size with the holes I needed and it was $15. Just ordered signs and t shirt from this company. The ink on the signs are very low quality and makes the sign look very cheap. The signs were also damaged on every corner. The t shirts, the ink on them are very cheap low quality. The website said it used "ultra cotton" for the tshirts, but it was some dollar t shirt quality for $22 each. How can I give no stars? Seriously do not give these guys your email address. The spam is continuous and unrelenting. They use multiple email marketing campaigns so complaining to abuse hotlines makes no difference. Loved them for years, but the last sign I had made was printed off center, the borders were cut off, it looks second rate , like it was done by a trainee, and they are unwilling to make it right. I rechecked my proof to see if it was my own mistake, but it was not, the proof does not look like the end product. There are no guidelines to the customer when designing that say move borders in 1/2 inch, so when it prints, it does not look right. I sell European German Shepherds, I cant have a sign that looks stupid, it undermines my efforts. Very sad to say good bye to them, but never again. read more

Horrible experience with this company. No quality control on orders. My purchase was over $1,500. Ordered signs and riders. The signs were different colors. They said they couldn't control this even though some of the colors were correct. I find it hard to believe a printing company has issues with consistent color. Sign riders were cut too small to fit in sign. They sent me a reprint and same issues with the second order they didn't even send new riders. I asked for a refund on the items that were not correct and they have since ignored all of my communications. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB. Just be aware when you order.
