On an early morning trek en route home after a long flight, our welcome home crew was in need of a break as well as nourishment.
This whole area is huge - tons of choices for eatery, but I didn't want the usual American based food or any of those Filipino restaurant franchise spots. I wanted something different, a local-ish type of place.
And that's how I ended up here.
Soooooo... this place is primarily known for their lugaw, and they do have quite a variety. Most of the peeps already in here went for that.
But I wasn't in the mood nor am I really a fan. What caught my eye is their longganisa breakfast plates, particularly the calumpit kind. (There's plenty of names for this type: garlic and vinegar, Vigan, savory, etc.)
Crew wanted something else, so they went their own way. GodMom and I stayed put and got an order of the same plate plus sodas to wash it all down.
Longganisa was so garlicky and savory, a good match with garlic fried rice, and the egg added texture. It really was delish. But if there was gonna be a next time, I would request for them to cook it more well done. It'd be closer to perfection then.

... and there will be a next time! Good first run! read more
