I was sad to find out that this store has closed. I still travel with a lightweight knife-fork-spoon set that I had purchased from that store. I was happy to see this store at Collection Outlet Winnipeg earlier this month. I went in to browse. There were two female staffers in the store that talked the entire time that I was there. There was an older woman with a British accent providing advice to a younger woman who seemed to have an Arabic accent. I have always been a fan of small appliances. This store has many. There was a small rice cooker that was adorable. I saw escargot bakeware. I got into making escargot several months ago, but don't have an escargot plate with the divets. I didn't get one. I have been using cupcake cups instead. The cocktail shaker sets caught my attention. I'd like one. The store had a sale on them. I ended up getting a travel looseleaf tea stick to steep my tea. It looked easy to clean and simple to take anywhere. I still love looking at ice moulds. This one had small cubes that you freeze and then push out of the mould into its own tray. Cool! When I was ready to pay for my item, the two female staffers stopped talking. I'm not sure if I should have been glad or sad that I had ended it. The British woman cashed me out. I ended up joining the Stokes mailing list, which Think Kitchen is a part of. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. I put my new tea steeper in my bag. I thanked the woman and left. It's a cool tea steeper. It's easy to use and clean. No complains. It holds the perfect amount of looseleaf tea. It's a cool store. I'm glad that I dropped by. (266)

It has houseware, electronics, cosmetics, and a small number of grocery items. I drop by this store whenever I am in town. There is plenty of parking at this mall. I walked into the mall and London Drugs was staring at me. It's next to a sushi restaurant, which I have flagged. I recall the RBC ATM at London Drugs. It was modern, but only allowed cash withdrawals. It is by the store entrance, on the right when you're walking in.. I immediately hit the cosmetics section. I loved all the nail polish and lipsticks. The selection of brands and colours was great. I got lost in housewares. I love small appliances. I have no idea how that happened. Anyway, it has everything from frying pans, to hot dog toasters and steamers. I wanted to get the Peanuts hot dog steamer, but didn't know how to bring that back on a plane! I love this store's electronic section. I love looking at laptops and accessories. There was also an extensive DVD section and I hope that it's still there. The electronic section is in the far left corner when you walk through the store entrance. Next to this section is the cell phone and television area, where you can get them and accessories. It's a cool place to be. It was summertime. Naturally, I had to look at food-shaped pool floats. The chocolate-covered pretzel pool float looked pretty cool. I ended up getting two huge bottles of Minions banana Tic Tac candies. They were cute and tasted yummy. The cashier who help me out was friendly. There were a couple of people in front of me. All I hear when I phone is a recorded message and I have called numerous times, still get the recorded message. I took my inquires to another book store, one that where actually a live person answers the phone, and responds to questions of book availability. For some reason, this particular book store {Burton Lysecki} thinks that a person calling on the phone, to inquire about a particular book is an intrusion and/ or interrupting their work. They do not understand that "I am the purpose of their work and employment." I was successful at the bookstore that answered their phone!

Unbelievably bad work, bad customer service - is IKEA too big to care?…read moreMy neighbor is in the middle of an IKEA nightmare. Cupboards are good, the problem is the so called installation specialists. An appointment was necessary to get advice for cupboards. That first professional advised getting to-the-ceiling cupboards. She had photos of the kitchen. The second professional came to the home to take professional measurements. Both of them missed the fact that the ceiling light fixture would block to-the-ceiling cupboards. Installation specialists came and made the space for the stove half an inch too small, stove doesn't fit. The countertop arrived with a chip in it. My neighbor spent hours on the phone trying to get help. After several calls IKEA agreed to replace the countertop, and that repair people would call to make an appointment. She would have to find her own electrician to move the light or have all cupboards taken out and redone. No repair person called. After waiting several days she spent more hours calling IKEA who then said the case had been closed. All the waiting took over 2 weeks with NO KITCHEN. No water, no sink, no oven, everything ripped out of cupboards. None of the so-called professionals has done their job so far, not from day one. So, not recommended. Save your money and get your own contractor

The sleek, modern, and functional furniture is appealing to most people. Prices are affordable but you gotta put the items together yourself unless you want to spend extra for assembly. Every time I come here I want to take a while showroom back with me. They offer a lot of everyday functional products that you can't find anywhere else. Organizational, bathroom, kitchen accessories. You name it. I love the well made and affordable products. You can never have enough IKEA shopping bags too. The cafeteria is awesome with so many deals. Everyone can dine for an affordable price. The quick service kiosk offers cheap hot dogs, ice cream and drinks. The food area has all your favorite items including the famous Swedish meatballs, candies, and cookies. The cinnamon buns are awesome by the way. Anytime you pass by, make sure to stop and check it out. There's always a good find every time.

It's quite a small storefront, but provides a wide selection to choose from: "a curated collection of gifts, housewares, pantry provisions, greeting cards, trinkets and treasures, and house made food ranging from soups and salads to cookies and ice cream". I noticed in the fresh foods cooler that they carried Curry Chicken Salad--something that I love, but which is often difficult to fine (or if you can find it, it's disappointing). I picked some up to give it a try and ended up eating it all with a fork as soon as I got home--I couldn't even wait to make a sandwich with it, it was that good! It's cream, has a good curry flavour without being overly spicy (TBH, for me, it could be spicier!), and with a good crunch from celery and texture from chopped dried apricots. If you like Curry Chicken Salad, this is definitely a place to check out! Next on my list to try is their Borscht. And the cookies? They were a type of drop sugar cookies, with pink, pale blue, and white sprinkles both in the dough and sprinkled on top. They were quite large--13cm in diameter--and the edges were delightfully crispy while the centers were deliciously soft. I really like to patronize local businesses, especially small businesses, and I'm really impressed by what I saw today. Not only were the items I purchased both delicious and of the highest quality, the people working in the shop were friendly and welcoming, even though it was a busy morning. I'm definitely glad I discovered this great shop and look forward to many more delicious visits!

In Winnipeg, it was this location on Pembina Highway, near the University of Manitoba. It's in a plaza that I used to frequent eons ago. It was nice to head back here a few times during my stay. There is plenty of parking in front of this store. I always found a spot steps away from the main entrance. This store carried the light line of Kipling bags. I saw a nice backpack. The downside to this light line is that it doesn't make certain pockets padded for your laptop. I still like my Kipling backpack with padding. It's still lightweight. This store also had Kipling handbags. They were nice, but were too small for my needs. The PopSockets section was great. I ended up getting a ramen one, which I am currently using. I also got a clear MagSafe one, which is cool changing things up. I managed to get a couple of small Squishmallows at great prices here. I got a frog and a beaver. I am looking at them right now. Adorable! Last summer, I got a tongue cleaner at a Winners in Ottawa. This store in Winnipeg had stainless steel ones. They don't compare to the copper ones that I bought in Ottawa for both my dad and me. Copper is great. The plastic ones also do the trick to keep your tongue clean. It would have been nice to have brought back one, but it wasn't lightweight. The kitchen accessories were cool to look at. The Crocs with fuzzy lining looked hideous. I bet that they felt great wearing them! Staff at the checkout were super nice and helpful. Also a great place to find one-of-a-kind pieces as well. Winners isn't only about clothes, either. They have accessories, shoes and great home decor. Staff are super friendly and kind. Just an update for those who like gifts that matter They are selling the cutest wooden houses in support of mental health . All the proceeds go the maker which is really amazing. They have a map of Manitoba and come with a little star so you can place your town on the map. For 15-20 dollars they are a steal and will look super cute in my kitchen. The staff said you can email the maker for custom provinces. I think they would make a great gift for a great cause.

No more treacherous stairs to get to this place. I like how they have expanded their offerings in the new larger space (the old Vita Health). Service is always pretty friendly and laid back. They have more changing rooms and a ton of cute casual and party dresses from $80-$150. Lots of accessories like scarves, hats, earrings and necklaces that won't break the bank. It's a fun place to shop and a must stop for me when I am in the Village.
