I love IKEA! I could only find the option to review the restaurant, but this is for the whole store. The products are, surprisingly, very well made for such low prices. A lot of our furniture is from there and has lasted years (and we are tough on furniture!). I recently bought a new bed and mattress for my daughter from here to replace her IKEA extend-bed she got when she was very small, it lasted years and is still in good shape, we just wanted to upgrade. The prices were amazing and the delivery fee low. The products are solid and will last several more years, I'm sure. I love the restaurant here, my only complaint being that I don't care for the sauce on the mashed potatoes, but next time will just ask for it without. The lighting and large spaces sometimes give me vertigo, but I'm sensitive to that sort of thing. Not the store's fault. Unbelievably bad work, bad customer service - is IKEA too big to care? My neighbor is in the middle of an IKEA nightmare. Cupboards are good, the problem is the so called installation specialists. An appointment was necessary to get advice for cupboards. That first professional advised getting to-the-ceiling cupboards. She had photos of the kitchen. The second professional came to the home to take professional measurements. Both of them missed the fact that the ceiling light fixture would block to-the-ceiling cupboards. Installation specialists came and made the space for the stove half an inch too small, stove doesn't fit. The countertop arrived with a chip in it. My neighbor spent hours on the phone trying to get help. After several calls IKEA agreed to replace the countertop, and that repair people would call to make an appointment. She would have to find her own electrician to move the light or have all cupboards taken out and redone. No repair person called. After waiting several days she spent more hours calling IKEA who then said the case had been closed. All the waiting took over 2 weeks with NO KITCHEN. No water, no sink, no oven, everything ripped out of cupboards. None of the so-called professionals has done their job so far, not from day one. So, not recommended. Who doesn't love IKEA? Well this is a great store located off route 90. It's signature bright blue and yellow building colors car be seen from afar. Plenty of parking for this massive store. The sleek, modern, and functional furniture is appealing to most people. Prices are affordable but you gotta put the items together yourself unless you want to spend extra for assembly. Every time I come here I want to take a while showroom back with me. They offer a lot of everyday functional products that you can't find anywhere else. Organizational, bathroom, kitchen accessories. You name it. I love the well made and affordable products. You can never have enough IKEA shopping bags too. The cafeteria is awesome with so many deals. Everyone can dine for an affordable price. The quick service kiosk offers cheap hot dogs, ice cream and drinks. The food area has all your favorite items including the famous Swedish meatballs, candies, and cookies. The cinnamon buns are awesome by the way. Anytime you pass by, make sure to stop and check it out. There's always a good find every time. read more

We went to the IKEA Bistro. My friend and I tried 2 Veggie hot dogs which are vegetarian, and yogurt on an ice cream cone, a special Canada Day item. We also had their sparkling water all for under 5$, what a great deal! My friend thought the veggie dogs were just okay but I liked them. The lingonberry flavored sparkling water was my favorite. Much better than the pear flavored water. The yogurt had double flavors, vanilla and strawberries which was very yummy! The yogurt is so creamy it tastes like ice cream. There is plenty of room for everyone to eat and I loved the decorations, minimalistic and clean. read more

IKEA is good at many things. Inexpensive chic furniture and home decor is one of them. Having the restaurant that serves the cheapest breakfast in town at $1.99 is probably the second best thing. It's a similar strategy to Costco with their $1.49 hot dog and soft drink. It is in the hope to get you in the door so you can drop a hundred on items in the store! Ikea even is good at selling cheap hot dogs as well. I used to eat more hot dogs in my youth but after all the jokes that they are made of filler and the less desirable animal parts made me reconsider my more semi-frequent hot dog consumption. This Ikea in Winnipeg is huge and is 15 years overdue. It's has a great selection of everything IKEA. As per the company mantra all items have the regular cute Swedish names and you can still get lingonberry sauce at the food centre. We came buy to get some items for my daughter. She was happy and so were we for what we picked up. Sure your hands will go red from putting together the hex key furniture however IKEA in my mind serves a necessary purpose for modern home items with low cost flair. The Winnipeg store is clean and easily accessible! On the weekends it must be a nuthouse here however! read more

Came here for lunch during the week and was surprised by the lineup at noon hour. The line moves kinda slow as the bottleneck is the hot food area which is run by two staff people. I think the wait took about 15 minutes. The best part of this place is the kids meals - they're extremely inexpensive at $1.99 - which included a small vegetarian penne pasta and a small milk. The pasta sauce was bland and nothing special but it "feels" like it's a better alternative to some other fast food options for kids. The fish and chips at $6.49 was surprisingly good - crispy with no real grease and the fries were crisp and well seasoned. The roasted quarter chicken with mashed potatoes $5.99 was probably the worst dish of the bunch as the chicken was really dry from being overcooked. The mashed potatoes were strange so opt for fries instead. The dining area is clean and bright. There are some hits and misses but for the price it's okay for a cafeteria. I wouldn't plan to come here for a meal but if you happen to be shopping here, then this place is an okay option. Best part - go downstairs and get a gigantic frozen yogurt for $1! I love their frozen yogurt - it's so cream, one almost thinks it's ice cream. read more

We passed the "As Is" section and saw a nice bedframe so I asked for some help on what to do with it and the lady told me I had to take the entire bedframe (which is completely assembled, it was a floor model) and carry it to the checkout (only the middle/far ones were open) and then take it to the take-apart station (right next to As Is but after the checkout) and I could take it apart there. I don't know how she expected me and one other person to take this huge bedframe across the store! They wouldn't let us take it apart there, we HAD to take it in one piece. After some frustration with that lady I asked to see a manager. He told me that "It's easy. People do it all the time." I was so shocked!!! IKEA brags about their customer service and his help for me was that I have to suck it up because other people can do it, I should be able to too!? I argued with him to the point he agreed to help us himself (GEE THANKS) and we needed two trolleys and 3 people to move it without breaking it. We go to the take-apart station that has tools to disassemble As Is products and guess what. All the tools are attached to the wall by 3 foot long cables AND there is a 4x4 foot carpeted box that is about 2.5 feet off the ground under the tools. Meaning that FOR THE SCREWDRIVER TO REACH THE SCREWS WE HAD TO LIFT THE BEDFRAME TWO FEET OFF THE GROUND and I had to hold it without breaking it while my boyfriend frantically undid the screws. Could they have made it anymore difficult for people to disassemble their stuff!? the bedframe is like 7 feet long and 5 feet wide, how were we ever going to balance that on this stupid box. I get the idea for small items but there are large items too. And the wrench was too big and we had to BEG for a smaller one to finish taking apart the frame. Overall this was a long, sweaty, backbreaking day which could have been made a lot easier by the "helpful and happy" IKEA employees. The manager could have atleast opened the nearest til so we didn't have to drag it across the store or allowed the one exception to take it apart it was only 4 pieces after all!! read more

First we went to eat. The food was good, if not plentiful. there really was no line up at the time we went, but I noticed that at meal times the line-up was very long. I would never line up for any meal at meal times, I wait until the crowd has gone through. My cousin's first time at an Ikea. I think she was impressed. We both liked the set ups for the displays of rooms. I went primarily to get kitchen help. I had to do it myself on computer, there was not much help because there was only one person there at first. After a while a second joined her, but there should have been at least four. They do have a great selection of products and the prices are very reasonable. read more

i never liked ikea, poor quality stuff that won't last 5 yrs, we bought a sofa for 500bucks and the headrest is hard like stone our child banged his head... also the child bed that's speacially was ''designed'' for kids has metal edge and our child also bangs himself in there as the mattress that fits in it isn't tall enough, no thx i will never buy kids furniture here i go to beddingtons for bedsheets, fabricland for curtains and canadian tire for other furniture... mind you, their foodcourt is worse than mcdonalds, i only like their chocolate cake everything else is frozen junkfood read more

We bought a Besta entertainment unit, used the computers at IKEA to put together our customized unit. Was pretty user friendly, the IKEA staff were helpful in helping us figure out the computers and design our entertainment unit. I also bought a PAX unit as well, and again the IKEA people were helpful during the design process. Prices were reasonable. One glitch was that when the assembly guys came there was one cupboard door that was in the wrong package and so we had to run out to IKEA to get the right one which was a pain. But all in all it went well. The assembly guys were supposed to show up between 12noon and 5pm, they basically showed up at 5pm on the nose and assembled until like 11pm, so that was a huge pain, we thought they would get in done in the 12noon-5pm window, but they said no, that is the window for the start time. Yeesh! But we called IKEA to complain and they gave us a credit on the assembly cost, so that was good customer service and made us happy. read more
