They do a lot for the kids and always keeping them and the families in mind. They instill the principles of Covey's "7 Habits" and the "Leader in Me" program into these young minds. I think that's great! They even have "learning labs" where parents come in and teach for a couple hours their own trade/profession so the children can learn new and exciting things that are not in the everyday curriculum. Another interesting thing they do, or i should say DON'T do is, they don't have third-party fundraising. They just have donations or their own school fundraising. They are no selling of candy, cookies, wrapping paper, etc. They make the money by PTA donations, or selling school products like t-shirts, hoodies, marathons, sponsorships by local vendors, and other PTA events. I thought that was kinda neat!

In an effort to address the situation, a meeting was convened with the principal of the school and the district; however, no action was taken until a year later, by which time the drug situation had significantly deteriorated and even like that it has not been control. Also, to note my daughter's involvement in varsity-level swimming and polo for four years was observed, and an attempt was made to solicit guidance and support from her Coach Nelson. However, instead of maintaining confidentiality, the coach disclosed the matter to the entire team and mom in charge of helping. Consequently, the team and their teammates began to bully and isolate her, excluding her from all activities. Furthermore, none of her peers spoke to her, exacerbating the situation! The coach was also complicit in this mistreatment, as were some of the volunteer mothers who worked with him. The names of these individuals were Janet Stewart and Dana Robinson; They were supposed to be nurturing and kind, but they also mistreated my child and were abusive towards me, despite knowing that I was a single mother who had cancer.I submitted a complaint to principal and the school district again, but no action was taken. It was only after my child began attending Johnson that she encountered individuals of questionable character, and that drugs were permitted on campus. Nonetheless, it is gratifying to note that she successfully completed her studies at Johnson with honours, was awarded with an scholarship, and has now enrolled as a first-year student at a highly regarded university, where she continues to achieve academic excellence.However, the four years she spent at high school were a particularly challenging period for both of us. It is therefore not a school I would recommend. If it is chosen by the reader, however, it is important to be aware of the unsavoury characters that are present, and to not expect any support from the school district or its staff.

They had a change of a director recently who let me just say is an absolute gem of a human being. She genuinely loves the children and the well-being of the children in school. My older daughter's teacher was fantastic from the get-go and within a few weeks , my speech delayed and extremely shy daughter started talking and thriving! She now won't be quite whereas for the first several weeks, she would not utter a single word. My younger daughter was in the pre primary class and it was an incredible blessing to have a change of staff. The old staff would leave my baby girl at the front door to cry for hours on end and right when I wanted to pull her out, I was informed that her after care teacher would be taking over. Let me just say, that this was the best thing that happened to us. My baby girl who absolutely despised going to school, suddenly began asking me to take her to school so she can see her "teacher". Ms. Vanessa genuinely bonded with their kids and created an experience of true joy for the kids and I am forever grateful for this transformation my daughter underwent! The after care staff has also been amazing as well! Ms. Grace, Ms. Alexis are champs for being so patient with the kiddos and engaging in creative activities. My kids are thriving and it's all because of the environment the new director, Ms. Erika created. Her number one concern is the well being of the kiddos and she is incredibly hands on! She has an incredible relationship with them and is actually one of the people my kids can't stop talking about! As a parent who invested more than 10 years with multiple children at SACS, I cannot recommend the school today primarily for three reasons. First, tuition has increased significantly in recent years, yet the quality of education has not kept pace. While there are still pockets of excellent teachers who truly love their students and inspire them, these are the exception rather than the rule. For the tuition and additional fees being charged, the academics and overall experience simply do not measure up. Second, the administration is inconsistent, plays favorites and encourages gender discrimination. Certain families and students receive preferential treatment, while others are held to a different standard. Additionally, certain events are marketed based on gender, intentionally excluding the opposite gender. Instead of upholding fairness, the administration regularly chooses self preservation, politics and favoritism. Third, SACS does not partner with parents. Although the school claims it values collaboration, the reality is when parents raise legitimate concerns or attempt to hold leadership accountable, they are quickly silenced. There has been incidents of misconduct by staff towards students as well as sexual harassment claims against a high level administrative staff member, and in all circumstances, claims have been swept under the rug. Staff members that challenge decisions are fired. Families who question decisions or speak out are often placed on a "blacklist". Families, including those with children in good academic and behavioral standing, are prevented from re-enrolling or denied readmission. The message is clear: conform and be silent or get out. In short, SACS today reflects hypocrisy rather than true Christian values. The school promotes itself as providing a faith-based, high-quality education, but the reality is very different. Tuition is too high for what families actually receive, the environment is political and unfair, and the administration does not respect parents as partners in their children's education. If you are considering enrolling your child at SACS, my advice is to look elsewhere. Save your money for a school that offers genuine Christian values, quality academics, integrity, and displays respect for both students and their families.

The curriculum remains challenging and encourages students to think critically. While there are still some concerns about the lack of specific cultural observances, I do see that the school focuses on deeper discussions about historical events rather than just surface-level recognition. I can respect that approach, even if it's different from what some might expect. One issue that still comes up a lot is the car line. The construction in the area has settled down a bit, but now there's a new challenge--sharing the road with other businesses. It definitely adds another layer of congestion, but I think it's important to acknowledge that a lot of the frustration comes from how we, as parents, handle the process. There are still too many instances of people not paying attention, blocking driveways, or leaving huge gaps in the line, which just makes things worse. If everyone followed the guidelines, it would probably run a lot smoother. The school is still a charter, which means funding is always a challenge. It runs largely on donations and tuition, but not every family contributes equally, which puts extra strain on resources. At the same time, the staff is stretched thin, and I know that makes classroom management tough. They have both gone downhill and are failing classes here due to burnout from the overwhelming amount of homework given daily (and over weekends) and also the bullying going on here has gotten out of control. I know it's everywhere but I thought it would be better here where it's smaller. It did start out better but over the years, unfortunately, they don't do anything about it and all the good kids leave and all the bullies stay. Horrible experience with special Ed here. They were fake and trying to convince me that they cared dearly about my child and wanted what was in his best interest. Believing they were only trying to help him I agreed to everything they recommended which isolated him from friends and made his depression and anxiety worse. Believing they were on his side I made him stay longer making him endure even more harassment by staff as well as bullying by students. When he told staff about students harassing him he was ignored. When I brought it up I was told he was lying and making it up (NOT oh, we will look into it). When I told them he felt targeted by staff they said he's delusional. The staff would unnecessarily escalate him to create a situation or excuse to send him home every day so they wouldn't have to deal with him. (When over stimulated he would put his head down on the table and practice what his therapist taught him & the staff would touch him and shake his shoulder which we discussed in meetings not to do because it made things worse) They would call me at work and exaggerate what happened so I would come pick him up immediately, such as telling me he barricaded himself into a classroom and they were going to call the cops on him when it turns out he actually was standing outside the special Ed classroom door wanting to come in and they where standing on the other side not letting him open the door (his IEP stated he was able to leave regular class if he got overwhelmed and go to special ed room to reset). Or telling me he has stabbed himself with a pencil and is at the nurses station when he actually scratched his hand with a broken pencil during an anxiety attack because they wouldn't give him a break or stop touching him and they were purposely escalating it. Then they played dumb and said they didn't realize he was having anxiety attacks and thought he was just being disobedient and not following directions. Which I believed until they kept doing the same things over again the following week after having a meeting about it. When I questioned them for escalating him to the point of self harm and not giving him a break (which is in his IEP). They don't answer but redirect me to look at his pattern of behaviors (behaviors that only happen at school and not at home, behaviors caused by them escalating situations when he is having anxiety attacks). They want all of their students to fit into their perfect little box and my son doesn't fit, he requires a lot of extra patience. During one of my meetings with faculty, Mrs Audello (the principal) had the audacity to compare my son to a mass school shooter and said that's why they need to keep suspending him and do investigations before he can return (he has never made any threats towards the school or brought anything inappropriate to school and they search his backpack every morning when he arrives at school) I am happy to report I have pulled both of my kids out of GHLO and they are now both homeschooled online through Acellus Academy. My special ed son has done a complete 180, they both have all A's as well as my son has not been hospitalized for depression since leaving that school, he does go at a slower pace than my daughter who finishes her classes early in the school year as my son usually keeps working on school all through the summer.
