They do a lot for the kids and always keeping them and the families in mind. They instill the principles of Covey's "7 Habits" and the "Leader in Me" program into these young minds. I think that's great! They even have "learning labs" where parents come in and teach for a couple hours their own trade/profession so the children can learn new and exciting things that are not in the everyday curriculum. Another interesting thing they do, or i should say DON'T do is, they don't have third-party fundraising. They just have donations or their own school fundraising. They are no selling of candy, cookies, wrapping paper, etc. They make the money by PTA donations, or selling school products like t-shirts, hoodies, marathons, sponsorships by local vendors, and other PTA events. I thought that was kinda neat!

In an effort to address the situation, a meeting was convened with the principal of the school and the district; however, no action was taken until a year later, by which time the drug situation had significantly deteriorated and even like that it has not been control. Also, to note my daughter's involvement in varsity-level swimming and polo for four years was observed, and an attempt was made to solicit guidance and support from her Coach Nelson. However, instead of maintaining confidentiality, the coach disclosed the matter to the entire team and mom in charge of helping. Consequently, the team and their teammates began to bully and isolate her, excluding her from all activities. Furthermore, none of her peers spoke to her, exacerbating the situation! The coach was also complicit in this mistreatment, as were some of the volunteer mothers who worked with him. The names of these individuals were Janet Stewart and Dana Robinson; They were supposed to be nurturing and kind, but they also mistreated my child and were abusive towards me, despite knowing that I was a single mother who had cancer.I submitted a complaint to principal and the school district again, but no action was taken. It was only after my child began attending Johnson that she encountered individuals of questionable character, and that drugs were permitted on campus. Nonetheless, it is gratifying to note that she successfully completed her studies at Johnson with honours, was awarded with an scholarship, and has now enrolled as a first-year student at a highly regarded university, where she continues to achieve academic excellence.However, the four years she spent at high school were a particularly challenging period for both of us. It is therefore not a school I would recommend. If it is chosen by the reader, however, it is important to be aware of the unsavoury characters that are present, and to not expect any support from the school district or its staff.

My daughter loved her old school and was quite disappointed when we told her that she was going to a new school. However, after 4 months, she has acclimated well and have nothing but good things to say about her teachers and classmates. She finds the work challenging and exciting. The school has taught her and our family a new way to approach reading. They teach Latin and have poetry wars. They also have an after school program that is an extension to their education and not just babysitting. The after school teachers help with homework and pick up is until 6 pm. They also have after school clubs with nominal charge. What is most important to my family was the school's faculty and their program for kids with special needs. My son was diagnosed with a rare disorder in October, that affected him neurologically. Some of the staff from school and after school program visited him, including Mr. Brogran (assistant headmaster). We love his teacher Mrs. Laird. She is a smart, kind, and loving teacher. She visited him in the hospital twice. My son had missed 2 1/2 months of school from being sick. Ms. Ernest (teacher), has been so patient in teaching him at home. She has been an important part of his education. We drive to school at least an hour twice a day, sometimes longer. We decided to move closer to the school since our kids loved being there.

Hindsight is 20/20 and I wish I could take back all the time, patience and effort I put in to try and make it a good experience for her. This place not only has high turnover, high student to teacher ratio, it seems like it also sells you this false belief of superior education from the Montessori brand. So maybe you think that justifies a large monthly fee (nevermind their holidays and staff days), and well it's the best of the best it must be worth it. Wrong. Surely the staff must go through more than your typical cpr/first aid 24 hour training? No. Nothing special here. It's all branding. I tried being patient and understanding, but ultimately my reasons for pulling my child was her safety and well being. They don't have their furniture anchored on walls and so they have bookshelves in the middle of class. Well, you probably assumed some kid got hurt. Yep. Another kiddo pushed the bookcase on to my child, falling over on her fingers. Even after that they didn't want to prevent that from happening again because they technically didn't have to, is what they said, but it wasn't enough seeing a kid actually get hurt to make them think otherwise. I had to really complain to make them do something. Another incident was a child attacking my child outside and not responding to teachers telling them to stop. Did my kid's teacher see this incident? No. Another teacher did. They had the parents pick that kid up. Another time, I go to pick up my kid and once I buckle her in the car I notice she had a busted lip, and they didn't have me sign the usual incident report. Teacher didn't see it or even notice it. (You'll see this as a pattern.). The culmination was the same kid attacking my kid again, this time on her face, and did her teacher see it? No. Another teacher did. Let me mention that this incident would not have happened had they followed their own policy, (which is not having more than one classroom outside at a time) and had competent staff (there were 4 kids to 2 teachers in her class that day and it took a teacher from a different class to see it and stop it.) They had the parents come and cut the other kids nails but didn't separate them from my kid. All this goes without mentioning my kid constantly being sick and them doing a poor job cleaning and changing her diaper. I had spoken to the director and staff about my daughter's health condition, which requires frequent diaper changes or she is at risk of an infection that can affect her kidneys. One time I pick her up and she has a diaper full of poop. I complain. Within the same week, after picking her up, I get home to change her and notice particles of poop because they didn't clean her well. I send an email to all involved about it, but then my daughter had to be hospitalized because, you guessed it, she got an infection. Maybe you can take this knowledge and go to a daycare that's more affordable and will probably give you the same experience. At least your wallet will thank you. All I can say is now my daughter is thriving at home because she isn't getting hurt or sick. She is developing better because I actually interact with her, unlike a time when I saw on camera her teacher completely ignore her when an activity was set up, and no effort was made to bring my daughter over to learn. Do yourself, your sanity, and your wallet a favor and don't go here. Don't buy into all the influencer romanticizing Montessori aesthetics. All they do is say their script,"oh we apologize...we understand...", but there is no change. There is no striving to be better, to stay on the ball. Their words are empty of proactive action, or any action at all. The previous posts and pictures are dated, and those people aren't there anymore. So anything that was said before being nice is no longer applicable.

As a parent who invested more than 10 years with multiple children at SACS, I cannot recommend the school today primarily for three reasons. First, tuition has increased significantly in recent years, yet the quality of education has not kept pace. While there are still pockets of excellent teachers who truly love their students and inspire them, these are the exception rather than the rule. For the tuition and additional fees being charged, the academics and overall experience simply do not measure up. Second, the administration is inconsistent, plays favorites and encourages gender discrimination. Certain families and students receive preferential treatment, while others are held to a different standard. Additionally, certain events are marketed based on gender, intentionally excluding the opposite gender. Instead of upholding fairness, the administration regularly chooses self preservation, politics and favoritism. Third, SACS does not partner with parents. Although the school claims it values collaboration, the reality is when parents raise legitimate concerns or attempt to hold leadership accountable, they are quickly silenced. There has been incidents of misconduct by staff towards students as well as sexual harassment claims against a high level administrative staff member, and in all circumstances, claims have been swept under the rug. Staff members that challenge decisions are fired. Families who question decisions or speak out are often placed on a "blacklist". Families, including those with children in good academic and behavioral standing, are prevented from re-enrolling or denied readmission. The message is clear: conform and be silent or get out. In short, SACS today reflects hypocrisy rather than true Christian values. The school promotes itself as providing a faith-based, high-quality education, but the reality is very different. Tuition is too high for what families actually receive, the environment is political and unfair, and the administration does not respect parents as partners in their children's education. If you are considering enrolling your child at SACS, my advice is to look elsewhere. Save your money for a school that offers genuine Christian values, quality academics, integrity, and displays respect for both students and their families.

They continue to be supportive, professional, and always willing to communicate with parents. Whether it's through phone calls, emails, or text messages, they make an effort to keep families informed, which is something I really value. The curriculum remains challenging and encourages students to think critically. While there are still some concerns about the lack of specific cultural observances, I do see that the school focuses on deeper discussions about historical events rather than just surface-level recognition. I can respect that approach, even if it's different from what some might expect. One issue that still comes up a lot is the car line. The construction in the area has settled down a bit, but now there's a new challenge--sharing the road with other businesses. It definitely adds another layer of congestion, but I think it's important to acknowledge that a lot of the frustration comes from how we, as parents, handle the process. There are still too many instances of people not paying attention, blocking driveways, or leaving huge gaps in the line, which just makes things worse. If everyone followed the guidelines, it would probably run a lot smoother. The school is still a charter, which means funding is always a challenge. It runs largely on donations and tuition, but not every family contributes equally, which puts extra strain on resources. At the same time, the staff is stretched thin, and I know that makes classroom management tough. She came up with a solution (after 2 days) that relieved my son's severe anxiety stemming from a trauma that he suffered two months prior, that we had been trying to work through with him since it occurred. This alone has helped our family more than words can say. She has many years of experience teaching young children and is patient enough to figure out what works for our child. Our family is blessed to have her teaching our child. The Owner: Ms. Betty Williams is wonderful. She is extremely knowledgable and is more than willing (happy) to share her knowledge with parents. On several occasions, Ms. Betty has sat patiently with me, with a caring heart, and given me so much amazing parenting advice. I cannot thank her enough for not being rude or judgmental when I came to her for advice. The front office staff: Ms. Natalie & Ms. Alicia are always genuinely friendly and kind any time I speak with them. They both have been very accommodating when I have needed anything. They both truly LOVE the children. Everyone at SACDM does. The staff at this school works as a team. They are a humble group of people whose true passion is the children.
