She tried mightily to handle customer service, testing, sanitation, coordination with off-site staff, and more--and I do commend her for her efforts. But this is no way to run a health clinic. I was really taken aback by the fact that, once I accepted a telehealth appointment with a nurse practitioner, I was expected to discuss all of my symptoms and treatment options using the receptionist's phone--in full earshot of everyone in the waiting room (though there were only a couple people; one was a minor). I question the legality of practicing medicine in this manner, ie, who is supervising the clinic if no doctors are on site? Are nurse practitioners in Illinois licensed to provide care and prescribe without direct supervision? Furthermore, while the nurse practitioner I spoke with was as kind as can be, their medical advice wasn't helpful. For an unknown respiratory issue I described, they prescribed over-the-counter meds including a sleep aid (although they knew I already had an Rx sleep aid from my own doctor), and a common motion sickness remedy (although they knew I already had an Rx anti-nausea med from my own doctor). They also prescribed a cough suppressant that was just plain ineffective. I don't doubt their intentions, but when I was able to see my own doctor days later, he was frustrated that they didn't prescribe any antibiotics (not knowing whether my infection was viral or bacterial), and at the OTC choices I was given. Moreover, he immediately ordered a chest x-ray, which found that I had already progressed to acute pneumonia. I would return to this urgent care only if--like the day I went there--I had no other choice. And that would be silly, considering there's a reputable hospital right across the street.

We needed to reschedule and WE should've called to let them know we didn't receive the paperwork, even though we got there 30mins early and had the 20 page paperwork completed only 10mins after the scheduled appointment. When I asked the receptionist about why we had to reschedule, her answer "The doctor said to have you fill out paperwork and reschedule" so they knew we'd have to be rescheduled even getting there 30mins early. Sounds fishy to me.. I am also confused as to why we weren't given the paperwork to take home to fill out knowing the doctor already wanted to reschedule. What a waste of time. We also witnessed a patient come in after we'd been there for awhile that was also given paperwork to fill out, the nurse called him back within a couple mins of him arriving and told him he could fill his paperwork out in the room. I work in the medical field and we would never send someone home because of paperwork. My mother and I both took off of work and drove 40mins. In a sense it's good to know that there is no care at this office to begin with. we are GLADLY going elsewhere.

I would recommend going to this place if you're like me and do not like staying in the doctor for a long period time. compared to every other in patient rehab I have been to, this place has luxuries you will find no…read morewhere else, you get your phone, a private room a pool and a large outside area with lots of different things to do. the food also was excellent 95% of the time. but I do have a few concerns. an incident that involved myself and at least 4 other individuals had money and debt cards stolen from there room, staff were slow to act and never resolved during my stay. my room and 3 others that I'm aware of have black mold reported in them, once again not resolved ( at least my room wasn't) and a possible health hazard finally, for detox, in my case while detoxing it was brutal to the point I could not get out of bed (amount many other intense symptom) There was a day I was not checked on. I couldn't get food due to BHTs refusing to bring stuff up for me because "I was overreacting" but admittedly was brought stuff eventually after as stated earlier didn't eat for a full day, and also not getting meds until I was able to get up. I guess I'll also say the groups were very basic, but I've been to so many places so I've heard it all before. a lot of it stems from the client to staff ratio which based on the location i understand completely, I do feel like more could be done with the available staff but that's just an opinion. once again, this place is really great for the most part and if needed I would come here again. thank you guys for everything! It's not perfect like my main complaint was the food it wasn't awful but it's fine it's just temporary, it's not a 5 star hotel, but there are some really good people there. They helped me get through a court case.... I could have gone to prison..... I recommend coming here if you want help. There is always something to complain about, everywhere. Just be grateful for what you have and can go back home to... it's only temporary
