It looks like they offer a large variety of eye glasses, but I must explain how awesome the customer service attendant behind the counter was towards me. Ask for Melissa, she's actually the Assistant Store Manager. Melissa has customer service abilities that could save mankind (well some of us anyway) and her phone and communication skills puts any call centre consultant to shame. I explained to her that as a son, I didn't want my Dad waiting for two months before he got seen by his eye specialist (the eye specialist my Dad has is very popular and busy that you have to book at least two months in advance, so we had to re-strategise). She's so dang understanding that even after our discussion, I find myself blabbing away about how she truly wanted to help my Dad's eyes or how she agreed with my strategies. Fortunately for her, my Dad is a loyal customer who didn't lose faith in their company. Was it the way she really listened to me? Was it the fact that she put up with my disagreements? Sure. She was fantastic. But of all the worthy qualities Melissa demonstrated, nothing turned me on more than her genuine care towards my Dad's eyes and went the extra mile for me. A woman who cares about helping my dear Dad -- even if not by her own ideas, but by her carefully listening to me, will always win my heart. (hmm....girls who listen to me turn me on!)

Both the Optometrists are friendly and professional and have always been efficient at finding the right lenses for my eyes as they have changed over time. They are definitely two of the best Optometrists in Adelaide. They also stock a large range of high quality frames, although in my opinion they are best suited for more mature and sophisticated individuals. I often struggle to find frames here that suit me and my budget, however they are happy to accept frames sourced from elsewhere to fit with lenses. I can definitely recommend Optometry on Osmond, especially to those who have complicated issues such as astigmatism.

I discussed with the optometrist getting one pair of tinted lenses especially for the computer to reduce migraines! I purchased 3 pairs of glasses with frames and got new lenses fitted to my favorite older frames! When I got them home I found them ok to read with but when I tried them on the computer, I couldn't see a thing! I was forced to use my older glasses for both normal reading and the computer! When I rang Specsavers I was promptly told that they were reading glasses and NOT meant to be used while using the computer! I was shocked because I have never heard this before plus I discussed computer use with the optometrist and got one pair that reduced glare! I made an appointment to get the problem fixed but when I saw the optometrist was told the same thing! When I mentioned our conversation about the computer he said " how many people do you think I see, I can't remember the conversation"!! Then he told me the glasses were fine and to go home!! So either I throw my computer away or use the older glasses! I'm upset because I got my favorite frames fitted with the useless lenses as well! So now I have 3 pairs of glasses that are paper weights and out over $500 !! I am disgusted that I have wasted both my time and money on glasses I can't use!

The times the kids have been there, the ladies who've looked after them have really put them at ease with the tests, and truly take the time to be sure their glasses sit comfortably like they should. Special cases have been found for them with favourite cartoon characters, etc - they really do a good job of looking after the little ones.

They have quite a good range of frames for new glasses, and a reasonably fast turnaround for delivery. A pair of glasses is a very personal thing, and these days they do not come particularly cheap but these guys are pretty affable and will allow you to make a series of payments so you are not stuck with a big lump sum all at once to pay for new glasses. Let's face it, you are lucky to get away with a new pair of glasses for under $1000.00 if you are buying new frames along with the lenses, so if you are on a low income or even a moderate income it is nice to know you can pay it over a few weeks. This is why I have been and returned to these guys; along with the fact that they have been very supportive of people on a low income whom I have brought in for an eye checkup. If you have a Medicare Card it is a minimal cost. Once you have found a decent optician it is good to stay with them because there is a lot to be said about continuity in these situations. Friends of mine who have required glasses for shortsightedness have been able to get a new pair of glasses with frames for under $200.00 so if you are on the pension or unemployment benefits, don't let their swank address in North Terrace put you off, they're worth a visit, and it is definitely worth discussing your situation and needs before you sit down for the actual eye test, just to let them know what's what. It is best to make an appointment, but I have no doubt you'll get a look in if you just wander in off the street like I did the very first time, you may have to wait for twenty minutes, but that's not too long under those sorts of circumstances; otherwise obviously, book an appointment.

I would normally class this as a fair enough mistake if it wasn't for the fact that this staff member checked the book several times. Another person who served me was new at the job and should have had a mentor there watching this staff member because the spec savers form from a previous staff member confused them and they had to write out everything in their own way. I was sympathetic for quite some time but after forty minutes of checking, re checking, talking to other staff, because this staff member really wasn't sure, I was ready to get out of there. I gave them my card only for there to be a significant gap! To give the staff credit, they were really apologetic and understood if I didn't want to pay. When I eventually decided to get them and came to pick them up, I struggled with the change of prescription. Another staff member who couldn't fathom my type of script for my age kept indicating I wouldn't know what to expect and kept suggesting things that I had experienced before. Despite my constant reaffirmation that I had worn these kind of glasses my whole life, they kept slipping back into intimating that I didn't know what I was talking about!!!! I came back after a few days to readjust them. They had been severely uncomfortable and I had another glasses store loosen them to ease the discomfort. This had caused my glasses to slip - the other store said that I would need the ends significantly bent so that they wouldn't slip, but being another store, I wanted to leave any errors to Specsavers so that they would replace any possible damage made. So I went back to Specsavers where they readjusted it, but the discomfort was back a few hours later! Am a little over this store at this point and after a long day, just pull the side over my ear to let the side of my head recover... -_-

I recently had an optical emergency. My glasses (orignially from Specsavers Marion - west) came to…read morepieces in my hands on a Wednesday night. Regardless of the cause (be it faulty frames or one too many roundhouse kicks to the head that sent them flying at karate training) I had to do something. (In the mean time all I had were some out of date wrong script contacts and some prescription sunnies - neither of which incidentally were a great look at work!!) So....at 9pm I hopped on line and filled in the web form to see if I could get an appointment to get assessed for new contact lenses and see if the glasses were repairable. By about 930 Thursday morning they called me and made a time for me to come in that very afternoon to the East store (I wasn't aware there were two but the west store pointed me in the right direction = East!!). They took a look at my glasses and decided they were cactus (and now out of stock) but said since it was only a year or so since I got them they would replace with a frame of my choosing. Unfortunately they said this would take 10 days. They also tested me for glasses and contacts (even though I only got tested last year for glasses) and charged me nothing. They had to order the contacts for me to try which they said would take a few days. By the following Monday I got a call to say my new glasses were in - a week ahead of schedule. Went to collect and the contacts were also in so I made an appointment for that Thursday / Friday. I also chose 2 pairs of new frames to order a back up pair of glasses and sunnies incase of future mishaps. The gap was about $40 or less (due to antireflective lenses). Contact lens trial went well and they assisted me order online (cheaper) and the new lenses arrived to home about a week later. The contacts are working out great for training and the new specs are all fabulous and stylish. The staff at the shop were super helpful and even though the shop was always busy they always took the time to explain things / help with choosing frames / fitting things properly etc. I will definitely use them again!
