Had my zero turn cubcadet service done. Took 7wks, did repair on fan relay switch, new blades, and leveled deck. My issue is the labor charge was $120.00 an hour. Total was $600. 00. That was with military discount and 4% charge for using card to pay. Too long and too much. read more

I went in to buy a belt for my lawn tractor. They looked up the part number, gave me a belt. I went home and put it on...only to.have it burnt in half after a few minutes of mowing. I took it back and they looked at me incredulous and said " that's not the right belt. It's too thin. This is the right belt." I only asked for a swap. Nope. They would neither give my money back nor swap it out. I made up my mind to never ever go back there. Two months later I drive all the way to Clawson to buy a $10k Scag. I've found Burdick street to be my sales and service center of choice from Scag mowers to Stihl chainsaws, blowers and whips since we've been in Metamora Service is excellent: knowledge and reasonable in rates. If I have a question, I'm always given a solid answer . Sales department is also very knowledgeable and prices are reasonable if not better than other dealers from here to Harbor Beach. I'm deeply surprised by the negative reviews here. I've been going to Burdick Street for many years and they have always been very friendly and extremely helpful. While it DOES take a bit of time to get my equipment looked at, they're up front about it. They've also never recommended that I make purchases or approve repairs that aren't necessary. I can't speak to their comparative cost because I've never felt a need to go anywhere else. I have always found them to be straightforward and honest - and you can't put a price on that. read more

We live in Hadley and could have gone anywhere to purchase our equipment (chain saw, backpack blower and snowblower) but the customer service you receive at Burdick street landscape supply and equipment is second to none! Several years of disappointment and I'm officially done with them. I've used Weingartz for several years with never 1 issue whatsoever. I started keeping my business local and now I'm paying the price. I've taken in chainsaws that we're returned with blades unsharpened when I paid for them along with tune ups. Their service is extremely slow. They don't call you after they diagnose problems. I have had to chase them, call them numerous times to find out what's wrong and they take forever for the repairs. Repairs are not done properly and a tune up is their band aid for everything. Recently 1 day ago, I picked up my mower. I brought it in because of a starter issue. I was told it's fine and needs a tune up. $440 later after the $345 tune up, with a $95 diagnosis fee and my mower didn't work for more than an hour. The starter isn't kicking over and is smoking like a Chech and Chong joint. I'll c9ntact them tomorrow for a refund but based on several people I spoke to, I'm probably out $440 and I won't return to them for service. When I did call (3 times) to check on the status I waited anywhere from 19-34 minutes on hold. They're friendly people and that's why I give them 1 star and because google won't let you give them 0. Stay away and I recommend Weingartz or a reputable local mechanic. Good bye Burdick Street my personal equipment and business have had enough. read more

They had my mower for 3 weeks & charged me $75. diagnostics fee. On 9/18/18 @9AM I contacted them for update, no update available. Told them I would be there later this day to get mower. I arrived @11:30AM & diagnostics are now available. Asked for money back, they refused. Mower exactly as delivered to them-broken. No indication of attempt to fix. Additionally, forklift operator sat & watched me struggle to get mower on my trailer. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS. I took mower to competitor & will have back in 5 days. read more

I took my push mower in for a carburetor clean & oil change $37.50, I was quoted cheaper over the phone. The service manager called saying it needed a new carburetor at $152, I declined, he offered to keep my lawnmower. It would have cost a total of $189.50 , I could have bought a new mower. I picked it up and ran fine with the carburetor cleaned, but the self propelled was disconnected & blade put on upside down so it no longer bagged the grass (my lawnmower was sabotaged) . I called back and the service manager said I could have a refund if I was there in 15 minutes their closing . I explained it was the holiday weekend and couldn't make it til after the holiday. He said " I'm not sure if I'll give you the refund unless you come in 15 minutes , we'll see." Well I went after the holiday and the blonde lady (claimed she was the owner) started screaming at us and refusing to give me my money back . Threatening to call the police as we were already walking out of the store. Worse customer service I've ever encountered!!! read more

Took my 1 1/2 year old Toro push mower to Burdick after drive belt came loose. $120 plus dollars later I picked up the mower. It rattled and sounded like a vibrating tin can. Several screws were loose and untightened. The oil had been overfilled by seven ounces. The new air filter I had installed on the day I took it in was replaced with an used dirty air filter. One side of the mower was scratched from top to bottom with paint scraped to bare metal. When I complained to the counter person he smirked and denied any responsibility. Made it thru about 10 minutes of the 1st cut when the mower cutout and refused to start. When I emptied the gas out, noticed grit that looked like a fine sand at the bottom of the gas tank. You get the gist of it. If you like throwing your hard earned money away while having your property damaged; Burdick Street Equipment is the place to go. read more

Avoid this place and beware of what is done (or not done) to your mowers brought in for repairs! Had a mower tuned up, belts replaced and blades sharpened. Was told that it was all done and working. First time I tried to use mower, the blades were sparking and deck was shaking. Took it back to them to correct. Was told by the owner that I had the wrong blades (same blades used on machine for the last 10 years), that the belt being loose would cause the sparking and is normal, as well as telling me I was uneducated in what he did for a living. Got mower back and found out the bearings were shot. First feel by other mechanic found that out. Tried to contact Burdick Street about partial refund for work not done properly, no response. read more

Took two months to replace the carburetor on my Generac generator and they broke the choke cable in the process adding to the long wait for parts. All this during the dead of winter with my wife and newborn at home. Had to keep calling them for updates as well. Answer was always "should be just a couple more days." Gave the manager a chance to make it right with some sort of goodwill gesture and he wasn't interested. I'm all about supporting my local businesses, but these guys ought to think twice before they treat their neighbors this way. Really too bad. Last $$ they'll get from me. I'll drive to Ortonville on principle now if I have to. read more

HORRIBLE! Paid to have my tractor picked up for an oil leak. They had it about a month and after numerous phone calls and complaints I finally got it back and guess what, IT STILL LEAKS. When I called them, they said I would have to pay for pick up again and they would look at it when the could. It's the start of summer, grass is growing. I can't be without if for that long. Just do yourself a favor and take you equipment somewhere else. There service department is a JOKE. read more

To quote a line from a great movie... "Oh no, don't go in there!" You'll be sorry. I went to Burdick's because they're the closest shop. My problem was not getting proper tension on the mower drive belt from the PTO. Their "excellent mechanic" told the service manager that my tractor needed to have 4 belts replaced and a complete service... none of which addressed the belt tension problem. When I questioned this, the service manager said: "that's what the mechanic said it needs." The implication was that I had to have all the work done so I could have my tractor back. Once I was told the work was done after way too many calls, I went to pick up my tractor. When asked the cause of why I couldn't get the proper belt tension, I was told that the belt chart called out a belt that was 1 inch too long. Four weeks of waiting, many phone calls, forced to pay for unnecessary work and all that was needed to be done was to confirm the required belt length and make the sale. They don't know customer service at Burdick's. I don't know if they treat people any better once they've purchased a $10,000 + zero turn lawn mower, side-by-side, or any other high dollar new equipment. read more
