Dr Iverson was clear in his recommendations and not pushy as I expected. They answered all of my questions and I felt good putting my son's oral care in their hands. Burg Children's Dentistry is amazing! Orthodontics... not so much. I called a different dentist to get a recommendation. They were very aware of issues with this location. I looked at the google reviews. Most are great (may be getting confused with Burg Dentistry which is amazing). It seems when there is an issue, they take no accountability and blame the customer. If tomorrow worked for me, there would be no issue, and I would have given them that good rating. Since it didn't (and the long weekend, and the X-ray machine didn't work, and the manager had personal issues) that allowed them to slam doors, attempt to argue about pointless things, and refuse management contact information. (Yelp reviews seem more accurate) Story- We did scans and pictures then were told we needed to come back for X-rays because the machine was down. Now, one day taking time off work and school was becoming two, instead of rescheduling us to begin with. My family is busy for the next couple weeks, as I assume many are. This was so unacceptable to the person scheduling that she slammed the door to go checking for options. No options. I asked the receptionist if there was someone I could speak with who makes decisions, like a manager. She starts telling me because of the long weekend... OK, I'm not concerned about excuses but who I need to talk to. She begins telling me my usage of excuses is wrong. OK, I'm not here to argue about what an excuse is but want to speak with someone who makes decisions. I was given personal information about the manager but not a name or a way to contact this person or someone else who was available. I don't even know where to start with this place. They have some management staff that is amazing but the front desk receptionist are incredibly rude and condescending!! They act like they are bothered by you and are really just rude! I've never really been anywhere where the front desk staff treat people so poorly, I just can't understand it. We are paying them thousands for braces and that is their job to greet you and help you. And instead they talk down to you and act like they are bothered. My daughter left today in tears after the Doctor turned her expander at least 5 times and dropped a tool down her throat! I unfortunately was not there for that but she told me later as she cried all the way home. She was in excruciating pain. She had tears streaming down her face as she sat in the chair and she is a tough girl. She never cries in front of people. That tells me how much pain she was in. Nobody cared when I went in. No one asked if she was ok or apologized. They acted like they didn't even see her. Told me to give her headache medicine and shrugged it off, I'm questioning if they even know what they are doing there. We are in contract so I can't really go anywhere else now. And as my daughter was crying I had to deal with the receptionist being bratty to me on the way out! I'm just battled and disappointed in the place!! read more

We just got back from out 3rd visit Staff is rude. We love 1 assistant and that's it. We unfortunately we have a contract with them. My kids, 11 and 12 HATE this place. I mean HATE this place. Assistantss are agressive. I've watched them and I would freak out if they were working on my mouth. Over my daughter's head with her mouth open today, the ortho asked the assistant if the assistant was scared to work on my daughter's mouth because the assistant looked scared. The assistant said no then aggressively worked on my daughter's mouth. My daughter started to cry. Unfortunately I was not in the room. Unfortunately I was at the front desk listening to the front desk lady spew her mouth about our insurance. Our dental insurance is slow. We have already paid for one contract out of pocket and on a payment plan with the other contract. So we have over paid based on the appointments we've had and it will all balance out at the end. Everytime I walk into an appointment, I get verbally attacked by the front desk lady. The whole place seems hostile. How on earth people give this location more than 1 star is nuts. Maybe they drop me off their kids and come back to pick them up?!?!? They also don't know what is going on - no one knows who is doing what. I get a text to confirm appointments, then a phone call. On the phone call I tell them I already confirmed on the text, they giggle and say sorry. Then I get a second text to confirm. Everytime. I would shop around. I felt pressured to use Burg for braces because we go to Burg for regular checkups. I wish I would have checked out other orthodontics. read more

What reputable orthodontics office turns an excited 14 year old away on the day they are supposed to get their braces off. Burg thats who. My wife told me appt was at 3:30 intead of 3:20. we arrive at 3:32 pm and were turned away. Whats funny is ive been 15 minutes late many times in the past 2 years and never turned away, maybe its because they know they arent getting those big monthly payments anymore. Now I have a crying teen who was excited to get their braces off who is now stuck with them on for 2 more weeks. We have always loved Burg Childrens Dentistry, so when my teenager needed braces, Burg Orthodontic was the clear choice! We have loved the staff there, especially Diana at the Stansbury location, she is fantastic!! She helped us understand how to best care for my sons braces and demonstrated how his brushing technique needs to adjust for the braces. Dr Marz is great with my kid and answers my questions with patience. The cost of braces is high, but through Burg, it was more affordable. I highly recommend Burg Orthodontics, we have been very happy with them. read more

The rating would be higher except for the staff. The front staff and some of the assistants can be condescending and often rude. My son had one broken bracket over the two years he had braces. He is always very careful with what he eats. They basically told him it was his fault and he broke it off. I had to pay $25 and then it upset my son. I was 5 minutes late once and they told me they'd have to see if they could fit us in. We had to only wait another 5 minutes. So was their chiding necessary? They are very condescending. Love Dr. Christensen but if I had more children that needed braces I'd go elsewhere. I don't like the overall treatment. read more

So my child has been coming here for a while and the staff are very friendly however maybe I pay closer attention to some things more so than others since I work In Healthcare . Long story short I believe burg orthodontics could definitely practice better hygiene as a clinic. I noticed on a few occasions that they put gloves on and then put their hands in the patients mouth and then with the same gloved hands they touch the computer mouse, pens and other office equipment that I know they don't sterilize in between patients and then back into the patients mouth. ( I have never seen them sterilizing these kinds of things) also they place items that go into the patients mouths just on a desk sometimes rather than a sanitary medical tray. After my child's appointment the same evening my child's throat began to hurt, 3 people in our household ended up having strep throat. I can not 100% say for sure we caught it from here but it makes me think that it's a very strong possibility.They could do better with there hygienic practices. read more
