I've been hearing about their famous green gravy; so I decided to give it a try, along with a double Mozza burger, and a chocolate milkshake. Love how they cook the cheese! It's crispy, and doesn't haven't a weird plastic texture. Great sauce, and being a double, I felt satisfied after. The fries were golden and crispy. The gravy, albeit off putting because it's green, has a very unique taste! Somewhat peppery, yet so good! The milkshake wasn't bad, wasn't good. Just a regular milkshake. Service was slow, but that's to be expected. I have a feeling the lady working the drive thru, also is the cook as well, and even then, I waited for about 5-7 minutes. It's a clean comfy restaurant, nicely lit interior, easy to read menu. If you're in Calmar, I recommend trying the green gravy and fries. I will be back! read more

Expensive for what it is, but not bad. Not great either though. One burger, one kid's milkshake, one regular milkshake and 4 jalapeño poppers came out to over $20. It's a locally-owned joint so I'd still go here if I was in Calmar instead of a fast food chain. The burgers are akin to any Burger Baron or TBH your high school cafeteria. The bun was crumbly mush. The burger is thin but passable. On the Hawaiian burger, the onions mostly drowned out the very pallid flavour of the pineapple. The milkshakes are lightly flavoured, which I found disappointing because I was so hyped to get a licorice shake. Oh well. The pina colada flavour was better. I'd stop here again but I wouldn't go out of my way to hit Calmar just to go here. As a walk-in customer, I have to say the place was spotless clean and the service was very good. They're taking the COVID guidelines very seriously, which is greatly appreciated. read more

A really awesome little burger stop. I saw the previous review and need clarification so we detoured off the highway on our way back from Nordegg. 1. The gray is brown slightly green - tastes good but i asked for mayo and ketchup because that's my fav! 2. Yes the burgers look like they have been smashed a bit but it think it actually made them better! I tried the mozza and the they had so much cheese they actually fried it on with side! So good. We also had the Canadian clearly a fav and the mushroom burger which I would put down as my least fav but still decent. 3. Milk shakes are on point. Thick and lots of flavours to choose from. I came to visit with my dad this past week, and today I decided I needed a burger. I wanted to try a local independent burger place and found the Burger Bar. Staff are friendly enough, but what makes this place spectacular is the burgers (it's really all they make). I was able to substitute mushrooms for cheese (thanks!) on the Canadian Burger. Fantastic burger joint in Calmar. I decided to head to the Burger Bar for lunch as I hadn't been there in ages. I was not disappointed! It was just as good as I remembered. The mushroom burger is by far my favorite and I tried their corn fritters as well. The fritters were delicious, especially with jam. I topped off my meal with one of their hand blended milkshakes which was creamy and had real fruit pieces in it. I would definitely recommend getting one of their milkshakes and they have a wide range of flavors to choose from. Burger Bar has a new building in the lot next to their original restaurant and there is now seating inside and a washroom. Diners also still have the option to eat at the picnic tables outside or order through the drive through. I only gave four stars on my review because the price can be a bit expensive as all menu items have to be ordered separately (no combo options). read more

Burger Bar offers lovely staff and tidy, modern premises. The burgers themselves, however, are pretty run-of-the-mill for this kind of place in the Edmonton area. One thing that seemed a bit off to me was the bacon in my Canadian burger. I couldn't tell whether it was real pig bacon or "fakeon". It wasn't for me whatever it was. Visited in August while driving thru the area. A former childhood hangout for my bf so he said we had to stop. Met the owner at the counter and she was lovely. Delicious burgers, friendly staff. The only recommendation is I would move the trash can away from the picnic tables outside as the bees were unbearable and we moved inside due to it. And the restaurant doesnt have an ice machine if you like your sodas extra cold. But we enjoyed our lunch and will be back! read more

I have been going to the Burger Bar for atleast 15 years now and all I have to say is, please never change!! They are now in a new building and removed the old trailer. The place is looking great and the food is as good as ever!! You can never go wrong with a burger from here, the milkshakes are amazing (Root Beer is my personal fav) and they have some solid appetizers to go with your meal (stuffed mushrooms are to die for!). If you're ever in the area, definitely stop in here - you can either go in and sit down, order for take out, or hit the drive thru. read more

This is the best burger joint around. They have had this location for many years and I hope they will continue to be here! They used to have just a small drive thru building but due to their great service and great food they were able to upgrade to a big building for a dine in experience! I always try to stop here when I'm going through Calmar. With their later hours it makes it easier and convenient to stop. read more

Best Burger of my life!!!! For all you people out there that love boutique, family owned, non-chain burger restaurants then this is a destination for you. Grab the family, load them in the car for a nice Sunday drive to Calmar and visit the Burger Bar. Exceptionally clean, even more exceptional service and amazing food all around. I'm a pretty hard person to impress when it comes to burgers and this is by far the best burger I have ever tasted.
