Yum! It's so refreshing to go to a nice clean burger bar and have a delicious fresh hearty burger. Burger Boss reminds me a lot of the burger bars in the USA, partly because of the decor but mainly because of the menu. Simply having basic options on the menu means nothing too fancy or taking too long to decide. Essentially there is the cheese burger, the basic and the bugsy (bun free). Then you can add fries and a choice of soda or shake. They also offer a secret menu if you are feeling like something a bit more naughty. The meat patties are the winner. They are so delicious and honest. They're simply great burgers! And the staff are great - you can tell they put pride and love into their products. If you're looking for a chicken burger or a range of variety this is not your place but if you just want a yummy beef burger this is for you! Delicious and we will be back! read more

Whilst I was munching away on my burger all I was thinking of was Cartmen screaming "BEEFCAKE! BEEF CAAAAKE!" The pattie was sooooo beefy it was delightfully surprising! The only thing that was missing for me was beetroot. If that was a option to add on it would've been puuurfect ;) The burgers are small but very filling with a generous serve of shoestring fries. I did love the taste of the burger and I would go back and try something else! The place was simply decorated and very clean. It's still pretty new and I think it will go a long way. The only thing I could suggest for improvement would be the look of the menus...they looked like some decorative love was needed ^.^ The "secret" menu bit wasn't really secret, I think if they made it look secret (if they had it covered up but you can pop it open to see what's underneath) it would make it fun! The American in me (which is roughly 50%) bloody loved this place. The burger is as a burger should be, a little greasy, the meat a teensy bit burnt around the edges but still juicy, a nice soft bun, and not too big. Very classic American, none of this fancy gourmet burger rubbish that's huge in Adelaide at the moment. I loved the whole In-N-Out copycat thing, with the 'secret' menu and the cheese fries and the red baskets. I feel a tad sick right now having only just finished cramming the last of my fries in but who are we kidding, this isn't a healthy meal. American food done very realistically in my opinion! Friday night, takeaway. The orders took a while to come, I think it was a 15min wait. Ordered the cheeseburger combo, my friend and I changed the fries to the special fries and the soda pop to shakes (cookies and cream, and chocpeanut). The shakes were passable. The beef patties were too overcooked unfortunately. Fries were pretty good. But overall the burger was indeed close to the in-n-out burger. Which reminds me of the numerous in-n-out burgers I had Diner type interior which added to the burger place vibe. read more

Burger Boss have captured all these wonderful traits and brought them here to Australia so you can fix those American burger cravings. It is literally like stepping into an In-n-Out, even the uniforms are similar. Now the burgers.... They are amazing! It is so nice to go out and get a simple burger with great flavour. I can't fault the burgers or fries. They are pretty good. Bit messy, so get your wet wipes out :p I really want to like this local burger place. However I ordered two combos for takeaway and got home, only to find one of the serves of chips was missing. It's hard to become a loyal customer when you get half a meal. Boss Burger is the burger hero suburbia needed. I've been here a few times now and have never not been impressed. The burgers are fresh and don't muck around with unnecessary ingredients. Crips lettuce, juicy tomatoes, amazing sauce, bacon (need I say more) and a delicious meet patty coated in cheese and squished into a soft bun. Done. You don't need anything else, ever. Except maybe some chips. And likely another Boss Burger once you've stopped being full. I can see a bad habit forming with this one!! read more

A simple yet delicious menu, really friendly service and great use of their space keep me coming back to Burger Boss. I've become somewhat wary of the miscellaneous 'Burger [random word]' places popping up of late as so many seem to be piggybacking on the early popular food carts and not keeping the quality to match. Burger Boss is different, and there's not much to say other than don't waste time going elsewhere... try them out and enjoy! The burgers are thick, delicious, well seasoned (albeit slightly salty, but do you really care at this point?) and also don't fall apart two bites in, unlike several other Burger Word places... The burgers and fries are more than enough reason to visit this place any time the burger craving hits... but the real gem for me here are the shakes. The shakes! Never before have I had such an amazing thickshake. The night after our first visit we ended up going back for shakes again... and will probably go again before the week is out. I've tried the Vanilla Malt and Choc Peanut and while both were extraordinary, I lean towards the Choc Peanut which is illegally good. Love this place and you will too. read more

This place is really like "In-and-Out Burger" in the US and the burger was just so good and for a moment there, I really thought I was back in California. For about $15 we both ordered a combo meal, burger, fries and a drink. The burger was cooked once we placed the order, it came out so fresh with so many fries. I was so excited for this place to open, given I drove past it tonnes of times whilst everything was being installed/set up. Since then I've been heaps of times. My first visit was a bit dodgy, as they'd run out of fries. But that was on opening night, so it was totally understandable, and we weren't put off at all! All subsequent visits have been fantastic. The service is always decent, and their uniforms are so cute! I like being able to see the burger get put together too. The burger menu is fairly limited for veg*ns, and for people who don't like beef. But the burgers they do are really really tasty! It's kind of like going to a HJs, but not feeling gross when you're done. And the fries are delicious, especially with toppings! The decor is '50s diner style, and is one of the main reasons I love this place so much! Sitting in a booth eating a cheeseburger on a date is lovely, especially if you're not looking for a super upmarket location. I'm still so glad a decent burger joint popped up near me! read more

OK. I said we would be going back and we did. Thursday night was particularly busy, with people ALMOST backed out the door. We got in and had pretty much the same as we had on our first visit, but we had the boy with us and he had the Cheeseburger and Fries. This time the burgers came out before the Big Boss Fries. So I had the chance to taste the burger before the main event (for me anyway - as the fries last time were the highlight). I have to say it was a nice burger but I can't help feeling it has a little "fast food" taste about it. Still, very nice. Then the wait started for the Big Boss Fries. After about ten minutes with nothing turning up apart from the drinks, we made mention of it and soon the fries were delivered and the order complete. However, this was not the taste explosion our taste buds had revelled in previously. I think due to the fact that we had not been provided with the fries in the normal time frame, that the last piece of the puzzle was was rushed. This resulted in the cheese on top not being melted at all - and it just wasn't the same! We left feeling a little let down in this instance. I can sympathise with the fact that the guys behind the counter looked really understaffed compared to the line up that night, but if you are a boutique establishment you don't sacrifice quality for speed (which i think may have been the case in the rush to get us the final part of the order). By quality here I refer only to the fact that the cheese was not melted. It sounds like a small thing, but it really did affect the taste of the fries. I would have been more than happy to wait another five minutes for it. Apart from this another nice meal. A star drop, not due to the fact that the last bit of the order was probably missed, but more for the lack of melted cheese (it had cheese, just not melted to clarify). read more

We live locally, fairly close to the Burger Boss. My son and I always say that we'll check it out, as it looks pretty good from the outside. Finally decided to go for a burger, really looking forward to a hand made burger. Service very friendly, very clean restaurant. Thought the prices were a tad steep, but I guess these are the times. We ordered cheese burgers with the pepper fries. Burgers were definitely tasty (little on the small size) however disappointed with the fries, why would you use PLASTIC cheese? I went to burger boss last night with my brother as we have been trying all the new burger joints around town. I had high hopes for burger boss after reading so many reviews. When we walked in I was impressed by the decor, size and cleanliness of the place. We went up to grab a menu before ordering and was confused about the layout of the menu as it has what appeared to be duplicate items but with different prices. The items that cost more were in a section called 'Secret Menu' which I found rather stupid as obviously they were not only written in English but clearly visible so not sure what was so 'secret' about it. Anyway we both ordered a burger each in a combo. We were watching the staff making the burgers and we already disappointed by the size of them. The buns are quite small. When we received our orders I was trying to find out what the 'secret sauce' was as this was also mentioned on the menu, but soon figured out it was just mayo and ketchup! At first bite I saw that the beef patty was way overcooked, no pink colour inside and burnt black on the outside. Also the cheap 'plastic' cheese as I call it was used. About half way though the burger I realised that it tasted exactly like a Hungry Jacks burger - that very greasy taste (probably also due to the cheese). The fries were also the same shoestring type served at Hungry Jacks, although slightly fresher & crispier. My combo cost me $16.50 but I could have gotten a better with a Whopper Jnr Stunner Meal at Hungry Jacks for $5.50 - definitely won't be back, there are too many other great burger bars in Adelaide! read more
