Original Burger

This place is perfect if you're on a budget, but want a delicious, nice sized burger, loaded with as many toppings as you like. I got the regular burger with a few choices of toppings. I requested double pickles which was gladly accepted (always ask for more pickles, they're unreal! Sour and crunchy). I also requested my burger be made medium, rather than their recommended option of medium-well (I would recommend medium if you would like some juiciness to it). The order came fairly quickly, long enough to know that everything is fresh. The staff are all super friendly and nice to talk to. Overall, the portion is really good and could be paired with a small side order to be completely full. I would highly recommend this restaurant as well as this location.

Perfect place for a good burger on a budget! We wanted a juicy burger and didn't want to go to a fancy place. We wanted a place that were known for their burgers and wanted to keep our lunch on a budget. We came to Burger de Ville in the past but have forgotten this little hidden gem! Their burgers are very juicy, you get to choose how you want it to be (medium, medium rare, well done....). As for the variety of toppings, there are so many! My favourite are the caramelized onions and sautéed mushrooms! You can get as many toppings that you want on your burger but just keep in mind how tall it gets! The spicy fries... trust me get the large for 3.50. It's delicious, crispy and has a great heat to it! If you do happen to crave a yummy juicy burger and don't mind to drive to get here, you should go to Burger de Ville!!!

This time the service was much better! We came around 8:00pm on a Tuesday and the restaurant was quiet. They just added nice new booths which complement the diner feel of the restaurant. As you walk in you order your food before sitting. I got a bacon cheeseburger cooked medium, with lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions, spicy mayo and jalapeño. As usual, it was unreal. My friend and I shared a spicy fry with spicy mayo on the side. Perfect portion to share. Honestly such great value here!

3* for the food 5* for the service A friend brought me to this joint to try their burgers which are apparently out of this world. They certainly do have a vast selection at affordable prices. You can get your regular burger and add up to 16 (I think) free toppings! That's crazy...a place that doesn't charge you extra for toppings. You can also tell them how you want your burger to be cooked...you won't get that at McDonalds. We took the black & blue burger and another one that was advertised as a specialty with king mushrooms (I don't remember the name). The burger with king mushrooms was a bit blend but the quality of the ingredients was there. I would have added ketchup but my friend told me that I should eat it as is...I'm sure I would have enjoyed it much more with the ketchup. The black & blue was actually a lot tastier...I love blue cheese so the pungent taste was very much appreciated! Took a poutine with spicy fries. Skip the poutine, not good at all. They just added some spicy seasoning on top of the fries. I must say that service was fantastic. The staff was very helpful when I said it was my first time coming and they came to check on us many times...almost way too many times. A way better alternative to the McDonald and Burger King fake crap you get for similar pricing.

Swiss Oyster Mushroom Burger and The Black and Blue ...yeeess!

Swiss Oyster Mushroom Burger and The Black and Blue are great. No need to add ketchup or mustard. The medium cook beef allows you to really enjoy all the flavor of theses juicy creation. Basic decor but trust me you won't mind. On the flip side this is not the place to eat a poutine. Overall I give it a 4.

Bored on a weekend we decided finding it as a top burger spot in Montreal. It was absolutely amazing. Best burger I've had in years. I had a cheeseburger and a poutine. Their fries and gravy sauce was top notch. We walked in not knowing if we have to sit or order upfront. It was a bit slow too. Can't blame them though, it was a Friday. Besides that the service was excellent. Will be going again as soon as I can.

Really good smash style burger. Bun was soft, meat was flavorful, and fries were crispy. Would definitely come back.

We ordered a variety of things (including things we wouldn't usually order to try and enjoy the full experience). We had a special that they were having that night similar to a charcuterie board, croquettes, hangar steak, lobster spaghetti, fries, bread and pickle, and a scallop soup type dish (I forget what it was called and honestly it was my absolute favorite most unique dish). The service is outstanding and our server was so knowledgeable and helpful. The space is small and intimate - perfect for a date night!

My entire Montreal trip was planned around getting this reservation. The food here is good. It reminds me of what restaurants used to do; cook for enjoying instead of just paying the bills. When you start to cook for just the money, you lose the risk taking and excitement from the food. Firstly, the restaurant is very hot. They need to check their AC or maybe they're just choosing to be very European. But that aside our waiter was very good and friendly. He really helped make our dinner fun and memorable. The beef tartare was ok. The sweetbreads were probably the best I've ever had anywhere. The double down is their riff on the KFC sandwich where they used two pieces of fried chicken as bread, instead these guys used two pieces of fried foie gras. It's rich, fatty, and delicious. You do not want to eat more than what they've given but it was every bit enjoyable. The pasta and sausages were good as well. But the strawberry sorbet dessert was so damn good and exactly what I needed to cool down. I had a great experience and highly recommend Joe Beef.

But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. I would absolutely love to come back!!

While the restaurant is highly celebrated and located within a Michelin-recognized hotel building, it does not hold a Michelin star of its own. But it is extremely classy. We decided to do lunch instead of dinner and it was a little more our speed, but if very, very attentive waitstaff is not your thing and $200 for lunch I'd skip this spot. We went because it had reviews for amazing beef Wellington and my husband hadn't had any in decades. And we were on vacation so let's go! The food was beautifully plated and service was impeccable inside of an amazingly decorated dining room that looked like a library in a mansion. The meals themselves weren't obscenely expensive but add a glass a wine, bread (it was not included) and coffee and it put us close to $200. But it was a great experience and I had never had beef Wellington - it was melt in your mouth good. Might go again next time we come up from CT.

He seated us in the booth and got our little children settled in with coloring material. He was so gentle spoken with our children, and for that matter, the entire staff was! Our family felt welcomed and not a bother. You would be surprised at how few places make us feel this way, even though our children are calm little beings. Ok, now... to the food! When I hear brisket, I think of Texas styled BBQ, this brisket is different, this is a deli style brisket, think Reuben Sandwiches. The brisket was sliced so thin and was juicy, it was delicious! Our kids had kids meals and in their opinion, the best part was the ice cream at the end . I highly recommend eating here! The staff is friendly, the food is great and overall, just a comfortable place to be! This was a popular spot as we noticed we weren't the only ones from our company there. This meal really put us in a positive shock at how much we enjoyed the food and the ambiance of it all. They take go big or go home as a motto. First off, we enjoyed the bread, the pâté with crostini, and the Parmesan twists as early bites before we got into appetizers. I ordered the tuna tartare and it was absolutely what I needed. Fresh, unique crunches from the wasabi peas and corn flakes, an even added crunch from the shrimp chips - I loved every bite. For entree I had the scallops and risotto dish. It was very easy to clear and empty the dish because the flavors were just right. I had been looking for a risotto all week and this hit the spot. Presentation is also beautiful on every dish. Whether it's the aesthetic or the showmanship, it was done with much to talk about at the table. My colleague ordered the lobster and we are still laughing about the charcoal smoke that came from the dish. Another colleague ordered the $60 set and it was all delicious according to him. He's from France and even said it compared well to the dishes in France. We ordered every dessert because we were having so much fun during our meal. Of the desserts, the best was the French toast which was a surprise to all. The soft texture and paired with ice cream made it all memorable. I had the Montreal "snow" and the cotton candy Island as well and really liked how it was something different, especially the notes of berry on the bottom. The crepes were a show and a savory sweet bite. Loved the notes of orange. Topped with thank you chocolates at the end and it was really a memorable meal. Beaver Hall created a space perfect for us to build relationships with our clients and have a great night. Details were the star and done exceptionally. Well done.
