Pork ribs with a side of coleslaw
    Rob R.

A southern BBQ smokehouse located in N.D.G. (Montreal, Quebec). Amazing, naturally smoked meats, made without any additives or preservatives. On the menu: * Pork Ribs in South Carolina sauce with a side of coleslaw salad * Brisket Sandwich in Texas Classic sauce with a side of baked beans

Cant believe I forgot to review this place. So I never actually sat down here, its always take out and delivery. But they have great poutine, mac n cheese & chicken. The flavours are out of this world and the prices are amazing . 4.99 for mac n cheese humm HELL YES. The restaurant is overall clean. Thumbs up for the guy at the counter for his amazing customer service & politeness, ( he once took my order although the were closing and it was past closing time). Great neighborhood joint, unbeatable when it comes to good bbq food.

    Home made sticky table armor

Ever seen an airplane nose diving to the earth? It's a reasonable analogy of the last Bofinger and earth is bankruptcy. The whole place smells like pee, tables are sticky, and I mean STICKY!! I think maybe they used bbq sauce as cleaning supplies. It's unfortunate because there is no barbeque places anywhere in Montreal, It's like a BBQ vacuum. Monterealers seem to consider rotisserie chicken as BBQ. There are a few places that attempt southern or Texas BBQ here like Diablos or Rubs, but Bofinger USED to be the only place that sort of came close. Generous portions, sauce up to your elbows and a unbuttoned pair of jeans as your Homer Simpson gut spills out everywhere while you moan. I keep returning and over the last few years hoping for the good ol days and I have watched the chain of restaurants shrink to one, and whoever is running the last one has completely checked out. There is no passion for barbequed food it is just a paycheck and a return on investment. The place has become so over the top sticky, dirty and smelly that I have SERIOUS reservations about the cleanliness of the kitchen. The food has gotten so bad it's absolutely inedible, store bought generic coleslaw, stale bread, unseasoned meat. The portions are so small they don't make any sense from someone calling themselves a BBQ joint. I normally post photos of food, but I am posting photos of the armor we made for our sticky table. We switched from 3 tables till we found this one that was least sticky. Our beverage glasses actually stuck to the tables. This isn't something that happens from a spilled pop, this is weeks of build up. Funny side note, the counter guy was super friendly and nice and was good at his job, but when I asked about the pulled pork.... "I don't know? I don't eat pork" pretty funny, a non meat eater in a meat only restaurant.

My friend and I tried this place out and were both pleasantly surprised. The workers were incredibly friendly, and the food was delicious - we practically inhaled it and plan on going back again tomorrow to try the other items on the menu.

    Bo-lucious Burger with a side of ma&cheese

Been on a quest for some good ol' BBQ... Found this spot a while ago(NDG). I 1st tried it about 2 years ago and it was quite good no lie. I had the chicken sandwich. As for the side I believed I had the mac n cheese n a salad. Went back a few times for some ribs and pulled pork. On my most recent visit SUNDAY APRIL 20th ,2014 I finally tried a burger! Bo-lucious Burger. Now that was a sloppy good mess! Smoked patty, pulled pork, bacon,cheese... I had chosen the mac an cheese and an order of sweet potato fries. The burger was quite tasty, but the meat wasn't cooked to my liking. I like my meat well done, and unfortunately it was pink. The side portions were small ( I grew up in America) sides are usually enormous back in BBQ joints in LA! The mac and cheese needs improvements it was watery and flavorless. Sweet potato fries were well sweet potato fries, can't really mess that up! My friend had the combo meal of chicken and rib and a side of poutine. Oh and the gravy on that Poutine was AMAZBALLS! I tasted his food and it was Yummy to the 5th power!!!! He didn't really want to share! The total for the combo meal(chicken &rib), changed the side to a poutine,1 fountain drink, bo-lucious burger, and aside of sweet potatoe fries= 45.00$ I thought it was a bit expensive, but since the food was good in overall we didn't really fuss about it. The service was fast, and the lady who took our orders was a sweetheart. I recommend this place for the meat and the poutine! The side orders aren't all of that. Hope this helps!

So good! Urban, hipster-ish, jeans and T, NDG kind of place. Love the picnic table/ patio lights vibe out on the sidewalk. Good for any age. Pulled porc sandwich omg. Get honey bbq sauce on it with a side of the best macaroni. We also had the mac & cheese with pulled porc. Basically, the same thing but no bun. $22 for 2 ppl!

The spring rolls taste like the frozen veggie ones from Asian supermarkets. The salad and rice were also nothing special. However, the for value it's not bad. We got the premium set for 2, which was $120 (tax & tip included). For anyone that's not a big eater, it's a good alternative to gyubee. Service was very attentive although the kitchen was quite slow. Our appetizers came 1 hour after our meats arrived, which was a bit strange. Ambiance is a bit cold since the tables are so close to the doors, so we constantly felt a gust of cold air during our visit.

I thought I had pre-booked a reservation, and we were running late. Parking in this area can be a trick. I dropped my wife off and continued to locate parking. She contacted me and said there was no reservation. I panicked as I parked my truck and sifted through my emails for a confirmation. I hustled the 0.4 miles back to her. When I went in the hostess said it wouldn't be a problem and brought us to a table. My wife later told me she was offered tea while she waited. The waiter was on spot. He knew their menu and provided us with his insights. All the food was Devine. Beautifully laid out and brought out each course in the perfect time. My wife loved the hibachi, she doesn't eat much in general and I do most of the cooking at home. She couldn't get enough of putting items in the hibachi and moving them around. Guess I need a hibachi at home lol. Also my wife is 86 pounds, so she gets cold easy. The hibachi was the perfect personal heater too!! We had a great time together. The ambiance had that perfect Japanese appeal, while still modern. I used to live in Japan so I can be skeptical when it comes to Japanese flair & food. This establishment did not disappoint. So if you are in Montreal, I highly recommend giving this place a go. Side note, pricing is very reasonable considering what is included in packages. And the Saki I had was delicious and looking it up for the going rate they make around $5 per bottle based on what they sell it for and market retail price (place around the corner up charges 110%). So you are more than getting what you pay for in my opinion. And sometimes you just cannot put a price on excellent service! We will definitely be returning when we venture. To Montreal again.

For one person it's a lot of food for sure, lots of fries but ribs were small and not a lot of meat on the bones. Shrimp appetizer was my favorite! Lots of flavor and I love the garlic oil that it comes with. No more wonderful steak Philly on the Friday. Most of what was offered on that daily menu is permanently gone. They added many different poutine that actually existed before but part of a secret menu you could learn from their social network page. Some starter too. They change the recipe of some of the food. The Mac N cheese is now more creamier and the cheese is more present and flavourful. I never had it by itself, but in the poutine Mac TeX, it's a miss for me. It used to be the poutine I always take when I go there, poutine Mac TeX. Tried it 4 times already since the switch, always the same and I don't like it unfortunately. Maybe others don't. From the post they made on Instagram stating that it was now creamier due to popular demand, I guess that's how people like it. But I think people was taking it by itself and not into a poutine (I never see much people eating a mac te when I'm there). Also the new Mac N cheese on the Mac TeX make it you taste nothing except the creamy liquid cheese from the Mac N cheese, nothing else. I normally add the homemade steak sauce available on the table in the poutine and when I tried it with the new recipe, it wasn't good. I also trie the dirty Poutine. I totally forgot what it is. There's like 2 sauce, I think it's meat sauce? Sorry I really forget. It was good, but about half way through, I was done with the taste just like the current Mac TeX. I still finished it though. Again, it's not bad, everyone has different taste and I started by liking it. I had the same experience when eating the smashburger poutine after eating a smash burger. Don't do it, take either one, not both unless your really into the taste of smashburger cause that's the only thing you taste. Last time I went, I took again the smashburger double cheese and bacon, a must for me, and I took a regular poutine. First time in what, 2 years and at least 30 visit that I take the regular one. It was good. I do miss my og Mac TeX but it's a good replacement. The bonus is it cost about 10$ less and fill less, so I was able to take something off the desert menu for the first time. I toon the chocolate cake and it was very good. The service is always good when I go there. It might be a bit a miss when it's overbooked specially if your table is hidden In a corner (happened a bit in the past). The only reason I bring from 5 to 4 stars is only because I prefered the old menu and old recipe. I did talk to a staff last time about the Mac TeX recipe and was told sometime it's because of new chef. I guess he wasn't aware that the recipe actually change, he did seemed new since I hadn't seen him before. I'll talk to jack or one of the owner last time, not to bad mouth, simply to have feedback from customer on the menu.
