Call me a food snob, but this is one of the only chain restaurants I would recommend to a friend or a fellow Yelper ;-) After visiting Sunday Upmarket, which is lege by the way, we ordered up a gut full of food at the GBK in Spitalfields. As it was our first visit there, when I was ordering the Veggie Camembert burger the description had a lot of ingredients in it, (sweet potato, Portobello mushrooms, roasted red pepper etc) so I assumed it would be mashed to a pulp and deep fried. But no, it arrived with a fanfare of rocket in a giant tower. The people at the next table sniggered, I look shocked, it tasted goooood! I did have to deconstruct the tower to eat it and then it was like a burger/salad bonanza. I've included a pic above in case you don't believe this fairytale of burger heaven (in the background you can see the normal sized Avocado Bacon Burger the bf ordered). A couple of downsides to GBK you have to order at the till and pay beforehand, service then is quite slow and erratic as clearly they don't expect to be tipped with this payment method. If its the first time you come here, I recommend you try for starter a plate of marinated olives, great for waiting and keep your stomach busy, then the best burger, the Pasterella, it comes with pesto and mozzarella. To accompany this treat why not have a nice glass of Pinto Noir, and leave the Coke for a day at Mc.Ds. It is a combo that will send you to hamburger heaven.

If you swap the potatoes for broccoli and ditch the creamy sauce, then it's a delicious lighter alternative to pasta or pizza. The staff are really friendly, but they are rushed off of their feet. They try so hard and look exhausted most of the time. This means that mistakes can happen and food does take a long time to arrive. If only Zizzi actually staffed their restaurant properly, it would be a spectacular experience.

The first thing that strikes you about this American-style diner is, well, its American-style. Anyone who's been to a Hollywood Johnny Rockets will know what kind of thing to expect, with burgers and milkshakes galore. But what stands out most about this place is the fact that in keeping with the Hollywood theme, to match the celebrity photos on the wall - many of the stars posing with the restaurant chain's founder - and pop videos screaming out from the big screens, each of the dishes and drinks is named after a movie - often so tentatively, that you can't work out what it is. There are the obvious China Town for the Chinese section of the menu, Italian Job for the pasta dishes and Once Upon a Time in Mexico for the burritos, and the dessert menu features the Waffle Monty (say it out aloud!) while the menu also features a Licence to Grill area and the Basic Drinks tinct (you get the idea!). But it's the milkshake menu - where the joke wears rather thin, with the word shake being clumsily shoehorned in to everything from Gladi-shaker and Shakes on a Plane to Shakes-orcist and Buffy the Vampire Shake-er. It's bright and noisy, and unless you get a booth, you'll be perched on a high bench, with your food on a table so small and round that it's not particular ideal for a date scenario, but sometimes, by the time the movie's over or you've finished your romantic walk on the Heath, there's no-where else open. Given that Tinseltown largely has a captive audience as there's literally no-where else in Hampstead to start a sit-down meal after 10pm (correct me if I'm wrong), it doesn't really matter whether the food is any good, as whatever it is, for a hungry post-pub audience, it's better than nothing, but it's more than up to the challenge. The menu is varied, the portions are generous, the prices reasonable and the service is friendly.
