A Regrettable Experience at McDonald's…read more A visit to the McDonald's on Memorial Ave has left much to be desired. The moment I stepped inside, it was clear that the level of service wasn't up to standard. The first problem arose at the ordering counter, where it was like they didn't give a damn or cared to take care of customers. It seemed to be as if my being there was a nuisance for them. Although the service lacked oomph, I pushed ahead with my order because I hoped that there'd be a surprise waiting for me on the platter. Unfortunately, this was not to be. The company's character would be the inedible food. The fries were lukewarm and soggywhich certainly was a far cry from the hot, crisp standard I've come to expect of other golden arches. The burger was no better, smashed together and rather lifeless. Another problem plaguing this McDonald's was cleanliness. Tables were abandoned to patrons past, covered with crumbs and spills. The overall hygiene of the dining area was suspect, and I have my doubts about how clean the kitchen or food preparation areas were. Also, the restroom was hardly attractive. It was dirty, there were bad odors and visible dirt; it needed immediate attention. Those conditions are something a fast-food restaurant, never mind one as big and globalized as McDonald's ought to be able to prevent. Finally, my visit to this McDonald's was one I would regret. Service overall was indifferent; food quality poor and cleanliness ignored. I hope that the management takes steps to resolve these problems and help restore McDonald's reputation, which it has been building over decades. And right now, I cannot pinpoint this particular location and tell others to try it if they want a positive experience with fast food. - Josh Nuzak

As someone visiting from Los Angles, CA... this McDonald's makes our McDonald's look like s*#t!…read moreSeriously...I never eat McDonald's back home because it looks disgusting and doesn't taste fresh. NZ has it good with McDonald's lol This place has self service machines to send in your order and to customize it! Also super clean, can't say much about staff since I order by machine BUT service is quick.

Carl's Jr.... They do have a few here in New Zealand. They're everywhere in America. This place…read moremade sure to let you know that Carl's Jr is America's favorite burger, and that it was American. Writing on the walls, big map of the states, surfing and motorcycle videos occasionally interrupted by Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood music videos. Pretty much captured the America vibe. Congrats! Tbh, New Zealand folks like this place more than Americans I think. Place was packed. Food is pretty much the same. They have fries, fries with chili, your typical Angus burgers and specialty burger items that in reality are just in disguise on the menu and not special at all. So someone at Carl's Jr thought.. Hey this location is in New Zealand and In N Out is all the way out on the west coast of the USA. Let's imitate a double double and pass it off as a California Burger Deluxe. Well for a native living here that's fine, they wouldn't even care, it's something new for them. But one of my friends got one, I had a taste. No.... Not even close.. And what's up with fast food menu pictures? I read somewhere it can take up to 4 hours to take 1 photo. Think of the biggest lie you've been told by an ex, your current partner, your 4th grade teacher who told you cursive would be useful, Donald Trump.. Now compare a burger from a fast food joint to the photo on their menu, that's the biggest lie. Ok fine, I think Donald Trump wins. Burgers look so sad, depressing when you get them. And most all are guilty of this not just these guys. But, the taste is great so I forgive them for it. Except the double dou.. I mean California Burger Deluxe. Stop it. You stop that right now. Stick to BBQ Angus burgers. You're good at that. Btw burgers range from 8 - 13 NZD. So price is similar to the states. It's fast food guys. It's quick and easy. They still deliver your food to you are this location. Tastes great. If I could describe the flavor of heart disease this would help explain. But it's fine. I'm there because I don't want to cook and don't feel like eating out gourmet.
