Chimney Rock is about a half hour away in the morning and bathed in sunlight. Scotts Bluff is maybe another 15 minutes from there. From the bluff, you can keep following the trail to Ft. Laramie or head north to the Black Hills and Mt. Rushmore. The restaurant is very spacious and can accommodate large groups. In fact, the dining area can be subdivided into at least 3 separate dining areas for multiple groups. Our dinner was very nice, and breakfast was the classic - bacon, eggs, coffee, & hashbrowns. I've stayed here before (May 2016), we stayed here recently (Feb. 2017), and we might stay here again in August for the eclipse.
