This place does great traditional German food and beer. The staff are superb and welcoming and the pub is home to the locals after work in the evenings. The governor also manages some excellent holiday apartments on the premises. read more

I was just OVERWHELMED by the great, careful service, the variety of sport, leisure and wellness facilities, several restaurants in different styles - all serving delicious dishes and drinks, as well as the scenic views around. Especially impressing is the breakfast buffet - at no wedding have I seen so much miscellaneous, beautifully served food at once :) I haven't paid for the stay so I can't say how expensive it really was, but judging by the age average of the guests, you have to have worked for some years to be able to afford it :)

It's a short walk to everything, including only about 10-15 min walk to the main train station. Comfortable room and bed, good filling breakfast and friendly and helpful staff! The biggest and most important reason to stay here - why the Maritim TitiseeHotel stays in business…read moreas well as it does - is it's gorgeous location. You are on the shores of the Titisee, with postcard-esque views of the lake and the Black Forest around it. Other than the small town sharing your beachshore, it's all wonderfully undeveloped. The hotel is also a quick stroll away from downtown Titisee-Neustadt and you'll be able to dine and shop away from the hotel within an easy 5 minute stroll. However, take away the fantastic location and the amazing view, and you're left with a hotel that is pricey and underwhelming. Without question, the staff is friendly, English-fluent, and accomodating. The interior has a rustic wood cabin theme but some of the amenities seem like they came from the same time that inspired the architecture. Everything feels old and tired. Rooms aren't very well insulated so you hear everything. The rooms are small, the furniture worn, but it is all very clean. Elevators are small, so if possible, use the stairs. There is a pool and fitness center-slash-game room on the lower level but it doesn't appear to be well taken care of. T-Mobile offers Wi-Fi in the hotel but the signal only ever worked well in the lobby. The bar is also a conundrum. Like the hotel, the staff in the bar is friendly But the awkward layout of the bar means that larger parties will have a difficult time finding places to sit. And if there is a sporting event on the television, you might be better off watching it in your room. The restaurant in the lobby has a full German breakfast spread every morning and it's quite nice. The location and the views justify the price you pay to stay here but, considering other Maritim locations, there's certainly room to improve.

And the hotel provides guest passes to the train so for example you can hike 10km to Schluchsee from Aha (literally) and hop the train back - or hop the lake boat back. Or vice versa! Our only complaint was we had to change rooms to the back non-lake-view side since the busy main road in front (not pictured in any of the brochures) is very busy and loud with German motorcyclists! Overall friendly very informal atmosphere and good food and outrageously good breakfast buffet that will make your day. The 4-course dinner is expensive and too much food- the servers discouraged us from doing a la carte.

I was staying for two nights and it only cost a little under 120€ total! ! It was honestly as if I was staying at a $100/night hotel. The part I had to get used to was keeping the TV on in order to use the internet, and the squeeze bottle for multi-use soap that's supposed to be eco friendly, haha. They offer a 15€ breakfast, but I didn't partake. I also want to give a special shout out to the staff because they were super helpful in letting me borrow a two prong electric charger to charge my laptop, as I only packed a three prong charger (suitable for Italy, not Germany!) The hotel is part of a larger complex of apartments and hotels, about 30 minutes walking distance from the main train station and altstadt city center. Definitely stay here if you are ever in Freiburg!

Lots of grab and go German brews too. Check in was super easy and everyone was rather nice....except when I asked for ice. For those who don't know, Ice isn't given freely in Europe. They gave me a glass, but made me aware that it's reserved for patrons only. Ummmm, it's frozen water. Pretty sure it's free. And I was purchasing a room for the night, to me that should qualify as a patron, but whatever. They were nice about it, but still. Only negative of the stay. The rooms were big enough and immaculate! Super comfy beds, plush pillows, Alexa from Amazon on hand, easy to use high tech thermostat, nice toiletries and complimentary sparkling seltzer too. Just a hair outside of Freiburg, but close enough to it. Don't miss the incredible cafe and bakery, Die Kaiserin around the corner for breakfast the next day! Parking is a garage shared with another hotel and is €15. There is however a huge dirt lot right next door many guests park in. It's free and actually closer. Ask about it!
