TLDR - if you value your time and dignity, AVOID THIS PLACE. i have shopped here on numerous occasions over the years and have not had any real issues until today. The lines have always been insanely long, but recently i visited with my 3 kids and we purchased 3 carryon suitcases from the Express Lane. Normally, if you have less than 10 items, you can join the Express Lane at the front cash register. Today, i and another patron joined the Express Lane as we each had less than ten items. We were waiting in the line for about 5 minutes when a manager (a heavyset lady with locs) came up and aggressively told me and the other patron to leave the Express Lane and join the regular line, saying the Express Lane is closed. Her demeanor was rude, and she didn't explain, but i and the other lady reluctantly walked toward the regular line. It dawned on me that maybe this worker had no idea what she was talking about especially since i've used the Express before, so i and the other lady rejoined the Express Line. The Aggressive Worker returned to use her arms to block us from joining the Express Line, telling us that she was taking other folks off the Regular Line to join the Express Line. Now how tf does that make sense to us who were *also waiting*??? There WAS ZERO SIGN AND ZERO REASONABLE EXPLANATION FOR WHY SHE WAS BLOCKING US. She tried to say we were "skipping the line" - HOW ARE WE SKIPPING THE LINE IF WE JOINED IT AT THE END, DUMBASS LADY? i will NEVER RETURN here. i and my family, along with the other patron were paying customers just like anyone else. Burlington has to DO A MUCH BETTER JOB OF MANAGING THEIR LINES AND TREATING CUSTOMERS WITH DIGNITY. read more

The store had a few gems but mostly had a scarcer selection due to being in a high traffic area. I find that Burlingtons are always busy and the lines move slow. Despite this the store appeared clean and the line while moving slow was organized and straightforward. My friend noted that the line is sort of hidden out of sight so you don't get deterred from shopping. Throughout my shopping experience, I found that all staff the I spoke to were friendly. I'd pop in if I were visiting BJs but wouldn't go out of my to visit this location. read more

This Burlington is just dreadful. I really don't have anything positive to say at all. Expect an hour-plus wait in line every time you're here. That's always been the case whenever I've been here. They obviously know that this is a problem. If you're that understaffed and know that every day because of this that the line is going to run the entire length and width of the store, then you shouldn't open. The store is always a cluttered mess. Staff is always unpleasant. I actually found a lot of things I wanted. I had about 12 items to try on. I went to the dressing rooms and the entire thing was closed off. So I had to go back and put everything back on the racks and leave empty-handed. I'll just stick with the Atlantic Avenue location. I stopped in looking for Velcro shoes for my son. I left with the only decent pair in his size but one or two items for myself. The merchandise as usual was in complete disarray. While I was trying in clothing in the fitting room, a disgruntled female employee walked in complaining about her supervisor telling her to complete a task that the team there the day before her shift should have done. Lots of venting happening while I'm just trying to figure out if they remember there are customers here in the fitting room. The line was a bit long but it moved fast and the guy at the counter kindly explained what was not listed but excluded from the corporate return and exchange policy. Manager on duty on Saturday, September 2, Aisha, needs to have a common sense approach to management. After shopping for 2 hours, I spent another one and a half hour in line for checkout. I needed to use the bathroom really badly and rushed there. It was closed to the public(which is new), and they always had bathrooms for customers before). An employee told me to ask the manager, and I did. Although I just spent hundreds of dollars, she insisted no because that's how it is now. Common sense could kick in, and she could reason. This woman looks desperate. Let me help a customer out. No, she didn't. Thanks to the security on duty, he recommended that I go to T J Max's bathroom. Imagine me at 9:20 in the night running to TJ Max with my many Burlington bags. They were 10 minutes from closing, and yet they allowed me to use the bathroom. Easy to get to and if you really dig and look around can find some good deals. Just make sure you really check the item as it was likely on the floor at some point being the entire store is in disarray and unorganized. Be prepared to wait on line for well over an hour. Even though there are like 13 registers I guess it just makes too much sense to have 3 employees only working them. It's nice when I find a great deal, but like everyone says, the line is too long. The last couple of times I was there, the fitting room was " temporarily closed." If I can't try on the clothes, they should at least have a separate line for returns, which would hopefully be shorter. I have been to this location one time I am discouraged from shopping here because the place is a complete disaster pieces are broken dirty and all over the floor. There are definitely not enough employees on the floor. Prices are good & things are always on sale. But, it is very discouraging looking at so much on organize the merchandise. "Clean up on aisle....!" ALL the aisles in this Burlington store need massive straightening out!!! No matter what time of year you go into this store, it seems the clothes are a mess and their shelves are..well, disheveled! I recommend going to the Burlington Coat Factory in the city near 6th Avenue instead. The Gateway Burlington has next to no coats for men. When Burlington started out over a decade ago, it was ALL coats and you couldn't spend just one day going through the place. Now they added a bunch of other departments, so there's less room for more coats. Gateway's store is always packed and merchandise is always laying around. I found some great deals on workout attire - maybe a dress shirt or two - but this is another hit or miss location where you can find the BEST outfit or nothing at all. read more

A crazy holiday Saturday in Brooklyn and Burlington lines were ridiculously long, I mean wrapped around the store long. The good news is that they provided a 5 items or less line that was long but it moved quickly. We were on a line that stretched more than 50 feet but got throughout it in 10 minutes. I usually don't do reviews but I felt it was only right for this most recent visit. I walked into this Burlington the day before Labor Day and honestly didn't expect to see it would be as busy right before a holiday but it made sense in terms of holidays leading to good sales. My purpose for this visit was to get a few items for my upcoming baby and before I knew it, I was walking out with about $350 worth of stuff. Knowing I had a deeply filled cart, and seeing the line full of people along with being pregnant all in one, I didn't expect any associate to be thrilled in seeing me. A lot of employees are typically miserable to see a customer like me at their register because the process feels like forever to check out items but not Ms. Camelia- the cashier that took care of me. Ms. Camelia did an amazing job at greeting me, folded my clothes neatly even after I told her she didn't have to for the sake of time (she just couldn't help it), she was very patient and respectful. I also noticed in the meantime how management kept things much under control whereas more staff was called up to help check out other guests and before I knew it the lengthy line was long gone. There were about 3 items without proper pricing or tags that Camelia needed help to get information for and the other associates helped her tremendously each giving help in any which way they can. If I'm not mistaken, a manager or other associate by the name of Nyasia took the time to help Camelia with my checkout and also was very respectful. I like Burlington a lot for their great deals and also had a decent time my first visit to this location about a month ago. I look forward to coming to this location every week as I'm sure to have much better experiences here than I've had at Atlantic Mall or Union Square. All Burlington stores realistically hire good staff and I have no idea what their hiring process is like but if they continue to have staff like Camelia and Nyasia, the business could never fail. Pretty much a basic Wholesale clearance kind of store that sells more than coats but specializes in well...coats. Nothing really more or less to say about it than that. I love shopping in this store, I think the prices are better than Marshalls. The handbags and wallets are great. I love Betsey Johnson products and they always have her handbags and wallets here and the prices are awesome The store is huge and you can find alittle bit of everything in here. Ive purchased towels, sheets, home décor, clothes, shoes, baby items, pet items. However my only grievance is the store is always in disarray, I don't blame the workers, I blame the customers. Why do customers come into the store and pull things off the shelves, push items so they break and fall all over. Customers should have respect for delicate items on the shelves and not push, pull and shove things, open them, break them and put them back on the shelves. I went early on a weekday and the line wasn't too bad, about 10 min or so...BUT!! It was unfortunate that I encountered an extremely rude employee. I was looking at a dress on the return rack and she snapped at me to shop the sales rack, then proceed to rant loudly on the phone to her friend about me. Basically everyone in the vicinity could hear all about how rude and inconsiderate "some people" are and causing her more work. Seriously, she went on nonstop for a few minutes straight until I gave up looking at dresses and walked away due to being uncomfortable. I saw other people browsing the same return rack but she didn't tell them off for it. I'm not saying she was being racist but clearly there is an issue that needs to be addressed. I ended up going back to the return rack to snatch up the dress I was looking at since it was really nice. Yes, I did ended up buying that dress. Hey everyone, it's been a long time! I've been slacking on my Yelping, a trend that I hope to course correct over the next couple of months. Yesterday, I made it over to the new Burlington Coat Factory in Spring Creek, part of a new shopping center they've recently erected at Gateway and wanted to share my experience. First, as always, the good. The shopping center itself is quite lovely. It just opened a couple of weeks ago so the stores are still pristine. Their approach to design pays off as it doesn't resemble your typical Brooklyn strip mall, but rather a Jersey neighborhood outdoor shopping center. Burlington itself is highly recognizable - learly marked sections, rows of reduced-priced clothing, and the horribly unflattering lighting are all very familiar to regular customers. I wasn't impressed by the selection, but generally speaking New York City iterations of this store just pale in comparison to their out-of-city counterparts. If you've never been to a Burlington on the island or in Jersey, you'll probably be quite satisfied with the selection and prices offered. Now, on to the bad. For some reason, this location has opted to showcase their loss prevention department to the general public - having both the staff and monitors plainly viewable when you enter the store (like hey you, don't forget we're watching). It is an obvious attempt to discourage theft of merchandise and perhaps it will work. However, it's also extremely "big-brother-ish" and makes me mindful of picking my wedgies, breaking out in dance when my jam is playing, or doing my Beyonce strut as I'm trying on shoes - basically ruining the shopping experience for me. My BFF had a viscerally negative reaction to seeing the standalone loss prevention booth and vowed that she wouldn't shop at this location because of it. She questioned whether this was a consistent approach to loss prevention utilized in all Burlington Coat Factory locations, or if the increased "transparency" was specific to the Gateway location which is based in a predominately Black area. I've been to dozens of Burlington locations and I don't ever remember seeing loss prevention so strategically placed. From both angles it sucks. People don't want to feel self conscious about their shopping habits (I look at my butt a lot when trying on shoes, and I don't want random stranger passing the booth judging my rear end fixation (this is mostly a joke, though I do look at my butt a lot.)). It is also an awful signal - we think you're more criminal than most - to send to the neighborhood. Boo. Two stars. read more

Rude employees. Sign on the door says they close at 11 and guy at the door didn't want to let me in at 10:45. When I pointed out that they aren't closed cause the sign says 11, he caught an attitude and said "alright man go, you got 10 minutes." After waiting in line for almost an hour, only to find out that the items that I was attempting to return due to invalid sizing for my toddler, was marked down to less than half of what I paid per item. Not to mention customers are not adhering to 6ft apart regardless of the stickers placed on the floor. I had a few pieces to try on and I ran into a fitting room. No one was in the front, I had 4 dresses and it was 1015 - I knew they closed @1030. 5 minutes later someone DOESNT knock on my door - they push it open. It's an associate who stares at me as I am covering with a dress to avoid her from seeing me naked. Instead of turning away she stares at me and tells me the fitting room is closed. I reply ok I'm naked can I put some clothes on. She walks away and so I rush and put my clothes on. As I walk out this lady - Natalie- supposedly the manager, is in my way on the phone. I say excuse me and she just ignores me. Rude. I say excuse me again - she moves an inch as if she's a size 00. Really? If the manager is rude how else is her staff suppose to be? Get it together Burlington. Get your grumpy ass together Natalie. We the customers would appreciate it if you had a better, nicer staff - but of course it's a reflection of you Natalie. read more

The worse Burlington ever! Very messy and rude staff. There was two cashiers and there was at least 30 people in the line to cash out waiting for more than half of an hour. Someone in the line asked why don't they have more cashiers and the manager said they only have two cashiers and they don't have plastic bags. Suddenly after we had 6 cashiers and lots of bags. Staff are very rude. I don't recommend going here. Go to a different location. read more

I hate this location. Burlington isn't the easiest place to show because you have to thoroughly scour the store to find things but this location makes it harder. For a place that's so much newer than the other locations, they could've had a better store layout. Nothing is ever neat here. There is always a long miserable line.The items with multiple pieces are never intact. The customer service isn't great. There's less of a selection here. I much prefer the Five Towns location. read more

Not very organized and there is hardly ever anyone around to ask a question to. Thankful that there is an escalator that takes you to the top of the store.
