This Burlington had some nice things. I went at a bad time obviously because the lines and wait for the dressing room was like going to the dmv... Whooo chile!! I didn't expect that at all. Theres only 2 rooms so be prepared if you have to try anything on. I really like their soaps and body care products. Theres lots of interesting products to look at. The clothing section has alot going on as well. My favorite section is the food and seasonings section. I always find something new thats not in regular stores. They sell toys, home decor, shoes, a much more. This is a good store for Christmas shopping. 4 stars. read more

I love this store. My only side eye are the long lines. But this is expected nowadays with few workers and more customer demand. I love the home section of the store. You can literally decorate your entire space with great finds in here. Another favorite section is the health and beauty side... I love taking my time browsing through lotions and health products. I am into the coconut oil and shea butters. And this store has great pricing. If you are in the area check them out. This store has something for everyone. This store is not what it used to be but it's still decent. The location is very convenient for me and parking is never an issue with the huge private lot the store shares with Food Lion and some smaller stores. There's a traffic light there so entry and exit to or from either direction on Indian River is no problem. Burlington carries mostly clothing and coats for women, children and men but also carries a good variety of other items including linens, baby items, handbags and accessories, luggage, fragrances and more. Items generally of good quality and displayed in an orderly fashion with wide aisles which are easy to navigate with a shopping cart. My biggest gripe is really that you really can't count on the integrity of the sizing display system. When you are looking for something in the 1X section it is common to find 2X or Large or other sizes mixed in as well. I realize this is probably due to customers browsing and putting things back in the wrong spots but it's really disappointing to find something you really like and then discover it's not the right size and there aren't any available in the size you need. Years ago Burlington was my go to spot when I wanted a leather jacket or coat for myself or a gift but sadly they no longer carry leather clothing of any sort. I'm not sure why that is but it's definitely a major disappointment to me. Still, if you aren't looking for leather, it's a great place to shop for outer garments. Employees are pretty cheerful and professional but if you need help it isn't very easy to find one available outside of those working the checkout area. I almost escaped here without making a purchase! I was so very close because on this Sunday afternoon I did not see either of the things that I came here for. What I did not realize is that like TJ Maxx and Marshalls this Burlington also carries specialty food items. Yep I got a little excited and started picking stuff up. Emeril basalmic glaze (expires 2015). Spinach egg pasta. Linguini egg pasta with squid ink. Extra virgin olive oil, cold extraction. Hopefully these things are all enjoyable. At the register I saw that the cashier had dropped a bag on my side of the counter and I bent down to pick it up and place it back on the pile. The cashier thanked me for doing so. read more

THE WORST STORE I've even been to. 10 stuff members gossiping in the corner when they have only 3 lines working in a suuuuuper slow motion. The entire store is not busy at all but for some reason they managed to have a line of customers waiting to pay. Then we asked manager every was going on got very rude response. Great prices but they've reduced the size of their shoe department. They no longer carry a large variety of shoe wear. I used to come here to get great deals on shoes, but I was very displeased with what they had to offer. Now, aside from their small shoe department, they have plenty of clothing to choose from and great prices. I wish they had more sporty swim suits though. I'm having a hard time finding Nike and Speedo swim suits at wholesale prices. I was hoping I'd find it here. I was pleased with their selection of perfumes and colognes. Great deals! My all time favorite place to go when I need to make a huge purchase but have no space at the time, I like that I have the option of putting EVERYTHING on layaway. For those of you who don't know what that is it's when you pay ten percent of the total cost of your items then you make a monthly payment until it's paid off which is the day you come and retrieve your belongings. I thought I would explain it because one of my friends asked me what it was and if there was a credit check lol and the answer is NO. Anyway I come here for everything from kitchen ware to clothes but my favorite spot is the shoe section . This store is very chaotic so have patience when you are looking. I have been able to find some pretty good deals when I look in the women's and men's clothing sections the kids section have many items but I always find it hard to make an outfit for my kids that doesn't look so urban. read more

My sister & and I to purchase some things for my niece baby shower. This store definitely had a huge selection of baby stuff. My sister and I went crazy while picking out matching clothes, bibs, blankets and a lot of other things. The shelves were a little disorganized but it was still easy to find everything we needed. Love, love, love this Burlington. This location and the one on Mercury Blvd in Hampton are the absolute BEST in the area. It was such a treat to visit this one today. For the most part it's clean and well organized. Being fully staffed with employees can be hit or miss. At worse, be prepared to be in line for a while to check out, especially in the evenings and on the weekend. Always a bargain. If you're a bargain shopper, you'll find their prices in line with Ross, sometimes slightly higher. The shoe selection at the military highway store is amazing! On August 5th I was returning some merchandise that I had purchased. One of the items I had purchased was a picture frame and on the back of the picture frame it was put together with particle board and ribbon. The particle board and ribbon had come apart so that's the reason I was returning it. As I was walking up to the front check out area, I didn't see anyone at the registers, but I see there were three people at the service desk. So I waited at the front registers for someone to either tell me to stay there or wave me to come up to the service desk, no one did. So I proceeded to walk up to the service desk and mention that I had a return would I need to wait back at the registers or would I be able to be helped here, still no one acknowledged me. I heard one of the ladies say to (Natalie- who waited on me) "are you open?", she replied, " I'm the only person open but I'm trying to get other stuff done". I stood there waiting for them to tell me which register to go to. Natalie waved her hand at me like she was directing traffic to register 7. I put my bag on the counter and said I have to return and no sooner than I set the bag on the counter, Natalie jerked the bag towards her and started opening it, before I could even get the receipt out of the bag and hand it to her which is normally what I do if I return something. I was a little taken back by her attitude, like I was bothering her, but I didn't say anything. I said to her that I was returning one of those items because it is broken and she said "DID YOU BREAK IT?". Honestly I had to catch my breath before I said something. When I did speak back to her I looked at the other sales associate standing right beside her and then back at Natalie and said "did I break it?, no, it was broken when I purchased it I just didn't realize it". WHO SAYS THAT TO A CUSTOMER??? It was all I could do to not just walk away, but I proceeded to get her name from her name tag and ask who her store manager was which she told me was Jean Global. She finished returning my merchandise, and I purchased my new merchandise and had completed signing the receipt. As I went to pick up the receipt to hand it to her and she pulled it out from under me and hand and said "that's mine" and I said oh okay I was going to hand it to you. Natalie never told me to have a good day, never told me anything about the survey at the bottom of the receipt that the sale associates always tell you about. I have always have had the best service and good interaction with the sales associates. I'm very disappointed with the fact that this lady was allowed to treat someone that way. I know for a fact that there were two witnesses to everything that happened except for the receipt issue at the very end of the transaction. Chesapeake Square Mall read more
