I thought this class would be a stretch for me since I'm not a runner whatsoever but I was pleasantly surprised. I did have to stand outside since no one was in the studio but I messaged the business on Instagram and they said someone was on the way. Kiera saved me from the Pittsburgh breeze and was so nice and welcoming. She walked me through all the equipment we would be using so I could feel comfortable. The gym also had lockers inside the bathrooms for each gender. The class was a mix of running/sprinting/jogging/walking and ski pulls, and weights. I feel the burn and I know I'm going to be sore for a few days. I also love the cold peppermint towel at the end. It's a nice touch. It was a great start to my day and I can't wait to be in Pittsburgh again to come back.

The music shook the sauna panels and was too loud for me to even listen to my own music and/or read in peace. After about 15 mins, I left and asked for a refund/reschedule. I was told someone would be in contact. No one was, so I reached out myself, and was told no refunds since I used up a spot that someone else could have. Seems odd considering that the noise level was not communicated prior and part of a session is relaxation. I was offered a reschedule again after requesting a refund instead. Would not recommend giving your money to a place that is so careless with it. Thoughtless concept that is very clearly just an easy money grab.

I watched him 'coach' an elderly woman, put her into the hack squat machine and played on his phone as other gym members rushed over to save her when she failed the lift and not the coach. I have never seen him wipe any equipment after use. The gym itself is expensive, about triple that of a pfit, but you get a dongle and can go off hours. Never pay for coaching, in fact avoid going during staffed hours unless you want hit with flying dumbells. Always wipe the equipment down BEFORE you use it. Bring your own scale, there is none.

They also gave me the wrong pricing. The monitors are way inflated at $120+, and they offer a 50% off deal, except they really don't. The most frustrating part of the weeks-long experience trying to join is they almost never answer the phone. There's no way to easily work out the inaccuracies. Now they have all my personal information so I'm anticipating OTF spam for the rest of my life. If you're not sure about trying this place out, I recommend trying other places first.

The instructors- they are friendly and energetic, many take time to encourage class members by name which is real motivation, additionally, they essentially conduct a group personal training session, giving just the perfect amount of personalized attention to ensure perfect form but not so much that you can't go at your own pace. 2. The ambience- the lighting is perfect, dim and cool, the music is great, and the atmosphere is contagious. 3. The results- I get a great sweat every single class, and am seeing and feeling some excellent results, you really can't help but get into shape... and you can do so at your own pace. 4. The cancellation policy- this is definitely a mixed bag, however, knowing I will be charged $12 for a no show or canceling less than 8 hours in advance means when I commit I really commit ( non premier members lose the class, value approx $28). While some people may find this frustrating it is just the extra push I need. Cons- 1. The location- nice spot in the east end but can be a parking challenge 2. The price- I do think it's worth it but at approx $60-$160 a month, it's definitely more than a workout, it's an investment 3. Scheduling- for the most part this has steadily improved and you can count on being able to book two weeks out at 9 pm each evening but sometimes that isn't the case and typically by 5 am the next morning classes are full, I've had to stay up until as late as 1 am to get into a class... or forgotten and been locked out entirely... for $150 a month I almost feel spaces should be guaranteed 4. Technology- sometimes this goes down, once or twice a month since I started, and nothing is done about it... the problem is you then have no record of your workout and the record is a big plus Ultimately, I would highly recommend OTF to anyone who needs an extra dose of motivation, who wants to get fit fast, who struggles to get in a full body burn, who wants to have fun and is ready to invest in themselves!

I've done classes with a few of them at this point. I think their bathrooms are also better stocked since they have Bobby pins in both bathrooms. They have a coat rack here too which is nice. However, my grievance is how they lied about their class packs, overcharged me, and would not respond to me for additional help. I went to an intro class to try something new. I was only in town for a few short weeks, and they advertised a sale for a 4 and 8 pack and stated that it was a one time charge. I paid for a 4 pack and was told I had to fill out paperwork. After paying and signing the forms, the application would not submit unless I entered my card information manually (in hindsight, this should have raised a red flag, but I wanted to trust a business would not lie). The receptionist assured me that it was just a formality and that it would not be a recurring charge. Because of this, there was no discussion of a cancellation process. Imagine my surprise when I left town, and a month later I was charged again. I called the studio twice and was told the manager had to take to cancel it, but she was not currently available and should be in touch. She did text me, but only stating that I had to email them to cancel. I explained that I should not have to cancel since it was advertised a 4 pack and not a subscription and inquired about a refund. The manager ignored my text. I decided to email just to be on the safe side and inquired again about a refund in the email. The manager texted me stating that my email was received and my account would be canceled August 2nd. I responded once again asking about the refund and again explaining the situation and how I was told it was a 4 class package and not a recurring fee. The manager ignored my message again. The manager did text me on a weekend, so I decided to wait until Monday to follow up. I texted once again and explained my situation, and once again I experienced radio silence. The funny thing is, they have no problem calling and texting you to try and get you to buy more classes or participate in their sales. But when it comes to correcting their wrongs, they will completely ghost you. There are plenty of studios who are more deserving of your hard-earned money and actually practice good customer service. To lie about policy and then completely ignore a customer is completely unprofessional and gives scammer vibes. I would be more understanding if they even tried to explain why they would not give a refund, but to completely ignore me is unacceptable.

I signed up for two classes through the ClassPass app while I was in town. The first was a Restore class with Wendy, which I loved. Wendy is a great instructor and had a great playlist. She's kind and encouraging in a calm and friendly way that motivates me more than being shouted at throughout class. The Restore class was a solid block of rowing for the first half of class and then strength and stretching on the mat for the second half. Unlike other classes, you don't use the monitors to view your stats and row more on feel, which I liked. The second class I attended was Signature with Joy. Joy is positive and upbeat, and her enthusiasm makes class enjoyable. For this class format we had three sets of rowing and two sets of strength on the mat, and used the monitors to track our stats throughout some sprints and power intervals. I really enjoyed both classes, and wish there was a Row House studio near where I live for me to attend regularly. The studio is inside The Block section of the Northway Mall, and there's plenty of parking. The studio is clean and bright and has self-locking lockers, a restroom, water bottle refill station, and branded merchandise for sale. The rowers and all other equipment are in excellent condition, and there are more than enough weights of each heaviness to go around. They provide the mats for the floor exercise portions. Everyone I met there was friendly and welcoming from the front desk to the instructors to the other people in class. It seems like they have a lot of regulars, and several people were doubling up on classes the days I was there, which speaks well of the studio in my book.

Upon entering my first day, I was greeted and prompted to get all sign information completed. It was a quick process. They are also taking great precautionary measures due to covid-19. Class attendance has been reduced, the row room is cleaned thoroughly between each class, lockers and water fountain are not available for use. I was able to take 2 classes during my 7 day trial. Joy and Justin were both helpful and informative. Justin took time after the class to chat and be encouraging. They remembered my name the second time I came in and asked how I liked the first class - so customer service is on point! Although no one ever tried to sell me a package which I didn't mind because I already knew it wasn't my type of work out long term. The foundation class is 100% the class to start in if you have not rowed before. Form is so important and not having rowed before, I never realized there is a technique to it. I enjoyed the floor work outs between row sets. Justin's floor workouts during the foundation class were my favorite. I recommend taking advantage of their free trial and exploring classes before committing. They really are fun, just not my style of work out for a long term commitment.

The instructors are kind of like friendly drill sergeants, guiding you through each movement and telling you that you can do it. It's a lot about repetition and light weight for a more toned result. I've definitely felt sore the next day. I will say I think there's a difference in the class depending on who you get as an instructor and what you're doing during the workout. The first class I went to was incredibly challenging and was pouring sweat by the end of it, but the other, while challenging, I barely broke a sweat. The workout room is very small. If there's more than 12 people in there it feels like you're bumping into others, which wasn't great. No shower at the facility, either. Barre probably won't be a go-to workout of mine, but I enjoyed it!
