I was not impressed. They were very efficient with their billing - otherwise I got better value from AI. Not recommended.

WORST LAW FIRM EVER!!!! DON'T GO TO THEM!!!!! I went to their law firm with a restraining order, a subpoena and evidence of my Ex making her way into my life and harassing me and they were able to dismiss my evidence rewrite their own subpoena that went no where (that they charged me for) but if you can actually believe it they wrote a restraining order on me?!?!?!?! I couldn't believe it????? I told them I wanted to go to trail and I swear to god the lawyer never used any of my evidence I gave him and actually came up with a defense on the fly as we were sitting there in trial!!! There was no preparation before going in to court it was all on the fly!!! Before court he was telling me that "no way" their evidence was not going to be admitted into court and (you guessed right) every bit of their evidence was allowed in court in-which we had no defense since he never brought my evidence into court that day! When I was on the stand he never asked me to tell the judge what needed to be said, he just excused me and allowed the judge to making a ruling on partial evidence and testimonial from me. The only thing I can do now is warn everyone Do Not Go To Their Law Firm!!! They will take your money and do the very minimum on your behalf!!! I now have to live with a restraining order from a woman that was harassing me!!! read more

Worst law firm in the area! Do not use them! The lawyer that was assigned to me completely threw away all of my evidence and I swear to god made a defense all on the fly!!! Not a family member here :) I was referred to Burnham Law by someone in the know to meticulously review a civil litigation matter that I had with a home contracting company. I was assigned to Mr. Sam Scheurich, who I found to be an excellent lawyer. Mr. Scheurich was extremely well-versed and nuanced in the law specifically pertaining to the matter at hand. He also came across as highly experienced with and understanding of how it was likely to unfold. He clearly took great time and care to deeply understand my case. I'd wholeheartedly want to retain him and Burnham Law if the need arises ever again. read more

I hired JAMES McQUADE as a Probate Lawyer. At first, he was impressive, thinking strategically, and outside of the box. But, creative thoughts that are not filed in court nor put into action, mean nothing. I was told several times that I would receive a phone call, on another occasion, I would receive a completed letter to opposing counsel.. None of this happened. I emailed TODD BURNHAM, the head of this firm, as he should know of his employees that are underperforming, and he passed me on to CHRIS CROWLEY, who called and talked to me. CHRIS said that JAMES would call me that night, but true to course, JAMES never did. This firm has no follow through and extremely poor communication, and their fee is above the average lawyer in their field. I would interview another lawyer/ firm outside of BURNHAM LAW. read more

So, I normally do not write reviews, especially for deeply personal services such as they provide, however my experience with these people was so poor I felt it particularly important to share. If you are interested in the details I will provide them below, but I want to sum it up first as most of us do not read entire reviews. I hired these people on Monday Dec 16thand fired them 7 days later. There were two reasons: 1) Communication was worse than poor and 2) the assigned lawyer put more effort into arguing with me than he did in preparing the document I instructed him to write. They were given a chance to correct both mistakes and instead gave me a full refund of the retainer without even so much as an apology. I was left completely stunned by their utter lack of commitment, conviction, and even basic knowledge of the law. This man, and this firm should be completely embarrassed by this. The full story: I conducted interviews with multiple firms, this company was my second choice. I was clear during my interviews exactly what the situation was, what my expectations were and what my goals were. Every firm I spoke with all said the same thing "absolutely no problem ". I was told on on Wednesday the 11th during the interview with this firm that lawyer a would be a good fit. I paid the retainer on the following Monday and was immediately told that lawyer a was no longer available. I was assigned to lawyer b, who I immediately made an appointment with. This was Monday afternoon. On Tuesday Mr. B called me 1.25 hours early, where we had (what I thought to be) a productive conversation. He said he would pull what he needed from public records and get back to me with the documents as well as a "strategy" within a couple of days. At nearly 4:30 on Friday afternoon (after I complained that he had not reached out) Mr. B sent me an email where he lectured me about positioning, then he stated he was not able to pull the document he needed. In my response email I pointed out what he was arguing was not even relevant to the situation, then I asked him why he waited to ask for the document. I also pointed out that not only does the law entitles me to exactly what I'm asking for, but every lawyer I asked including his boss disagrees with his opinion of the situation. I gave Mr. B 4 hours to do what he was hired to do, with a deadline of noon on Monday the 23rd. I also called his boss and leaving a voicemail requesting to speak with her Monday morning. Monday Dec 23 at 2 pm I called the boss, got voicemail again and told her it might be time to start talking about a refund. I then sent Mr. B, the boss and the paralegal an email saying time was up and I had seen no effort at all. I asked why I shouldn't fire him. I never received any response from Mr. B, his paralegal or the boss. I did however get an email from someone to process the refund less then one hour after the email sent to Mr. B. Had the money back before the end of the day on Monday. Please do not hire these people. Mr. B was the second choice of my second choice, and I'm so thankful he showed me his incompetence before he even reached out to opposing counsel. The utter stupidity and incompetence was overwhelming to say the least. I feel so sorry for anyone who is foolish enough to hire them. The only good thing is they didn't charge me for the 30 minute phone call or that poorly thought-out email, most likely in hopes that I wouldn't share my story read more

The perfect example of the problem with Burnham Law is Todd Burnham's ad posted everywhere. How can any experienced family lawyer claim to win for anyone in Divorce? How do you win when you end up with halftime with your kids? How do you win when you end up with half of your mural assets? How do you win when you have to pay the other side 40% of your income or if you're the person living on the 40% of your former income? How can any experience lawyer claim that he can win for you Divorce? Think about that. read more

DO NOT HIRE THEM. They charged me 1000 dollars a week to do NOTHING. How do I know they did nothing because after they withdrew before the first court hearing even started and I had to represent myself. I had full access to everything they had done with the court which was to file a document that I FILLED OUT. They took over $17,000 dollars from me and dropped out because it "was a business decision" and I hadn't payed them enough. RUN RUN RUN RUN this firm is so bad they should be shut down. read more

Do not use. Terrible case and trial management. Called witnesses in a child custody case one business day before the hearing and then doesn't use them, showing blatant disregard for people time and money, and the child and parent at the center. If I could give this firm a ZERO star rating I would. DO NOT USE THIS FIRM!!!! Todd Burnham is the most un-sympathtic/lacks complete empathy for the clients oh his firm. I have been given 4 attorneys from 11/2019 to 5/2020 because the turnover rate for attorneys at this form is astonishing. They will charge you for every single person to review your case, then they won't do anything for months. I started out with Rebecca, who left their firm shortly after my court date. She showed up to court more concerned about how cute it was that her shoes matched her purse. We needed a PRE for my case and she recommended Dr. Kilmer, who was EXTREMELY unprofessional. His report had nothing about my home visit in it, and he routinely interrupted when he got the answer he was looking for. During my parents interview he stopped in the middle to take a phone call not related to our case. He changed his recommendation the night before the hearing based on lies from my ex and his family. Rebecca should have fought that, but never brought it up in court. Then I was given another attorney by the name of Ryan, he used up an entire retainer doing nothing (he was supposed to get me through a contempt hearing but failed miserably to do so. Then I was assigned Sarah, who was my attorney for a couple months. She managed to file the contempt motion that Ryan was supposed to file, but never did. Sarah then left for maternity leave and never returned. The last attorney was Kristin who is BRAND NEW out of law school and was much more eager to settle out of court for the contempt, than to actually fight for what was deserved. Now that I refused to pay them yet ANOTHER retainer, they are saying I owe them over $400. It takes the weeks to send checks that have been sent to their office by my ex husband. They will bill you to death for doing nothing. At the trial prep with Rebecca I had emphasized that if things don't go my way I want to appeal the decision. Custody of my kids went to my ex and his toxic family, where he has limited my contact with our kids. Rebecca was not prepared for court, then when asked for the appeal info it took too long to get the info and the time for the appeal had passed. All in all I would never recommend using this firm. We have paid them TENS OF THOUSANDS of dollars for them to waste every single penny. RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS FIRM!!!!!! read more

Biggest waste of time and money going through this law firm! Over $2000 to file some paperwork and then to see they filed the wrong paperwork. All we needed was a letter of guardianship through the court and what they filed was denied and a total waste! Robbery!!!!!! read more

Retained this office after a great initial phone call. Then once retained and beginning working on the matters the attorney became combative and argumentative; often interrupting and not allowing me to speak or explain anything. The expectation was for this attorney to negotiate real estate matters. It became evident that the attorney couldn't even hold a productive conversation with me as their client and in no way demonstrated that she could successfully negotiate the estate matters. read more

I have worked with Burnham Law since Sept 29, 2020 trying to what felt like being on the defense even though I was the petitioner until they dropped me as a client after spending approximately $100k or more with out embellishing. I had to go through 5 attorney's while I had them retained because their turn over rate is though it's a corporate company which is how they treat their clients. I do not recommend ever using them. They will put you family and whole livelihood in jeopardy. I got more emails about the bill than I did on what was actually happening with the divorce. I've since found several attorneys with integrity and ethics. Burnham law is not one of those companies. I own multi million dollar companies and have dealt with lawyers for the last 20+ yrs whether it was for child custody or for business and I've never experienced the unprofessionalism I had experienced with them. They wanted $20K down for the trial in my divorce in December of last yr for a trial in August the next yr. I asked to go to mediation several times and they never came through. In February after I had paid them a min of $1000 per wk with no results I got mediation myself. They are thieves and no one should ever retain them... I don't say this out of malice... I say this because they are a joke and they do not provide results. Contact me and I can give you info to much better attorneys. read more

My personal lawyer was sweet, but didnt have anything to say to support me during mediation. I did not even see her in person until tye day of mediation. They seem like they care when you get your initial consultation, but nah!You dont get to pick who represents you. They depleted my $5,000 retainer for literally doing nothing but filing paperwork. Not a single day in court. Then I continued to have to pay money for them to keep charging me for everything. They will charge you for their secretary to answer an email not pertaining to a case. Biggest waste of money and didn't fight for my best interest! They ask for a big retainer so they can bill you for everything they can think of. Nothing would happen for weeks, I mean not a peep and I would get an invoice for $640 for forwarding emails from lawyer to lawyer! Todd talk a big game but then assigns some half wit Rebecca, who is more concerned with trying to be cute and billing me than actually doing any work in my best interest. She kept trying to get me to give in on very important issues and I was fighting my twit of a lawyer, opposing counsel and my dimwit daughters mother. I finally had enough, fired her and went to court by myself with my case and surprise surprise, I won everything I was fighting for! So after 6 months of no word I start getting calls that I still owe them $200 for something and if I do not pay immediately they will send collections after me. Well why didn't they send me a bill or email or call 6 months ago? Maybe because they only care about making new car payments than actually helping those in need. I have no problem paying, even if I have no idea what was not covered in my retainer,but really threatening your former client is not a good way to get referrals. My recommendation, look elsewhere if you want to actually be represented by a professional. read more

AWFUL! I'm a mother of three children and have been to court time after time due to custody issues with my ex husband. I had used 2 previous law firms in the past and was unhappy with both law firms . So I did my research before hiring yet another law firm. I called the Burnham law firm after reviewing many others as I felt they would be the best fit. After a lengthy phone conversation with one of the attorney's who worked for the Burnham law firm, I was sold and set up a face to face consultation. I left the face to face consultation confident and happy as I felt that the attorney understood my case and was going to help me in court, even though I had to put down a hefty retainer fee. After a few months I began to get a little worried about choosing this firm. I had not gotten any results thus far and was ask to put down more money! I had already invested so much money already, I felt like it would be all for not if I did not pay more. Soon after I paid another retainer fee, I was contacted by my attorney and informed after much review from the Burnham law firm board they were going to drop me as a client due to a conflict of interest! Come to find out they had hired an attorney that my ex-husband had used in years past!! They did not offer me any type of resolution due to no fault of my own, and in fact asked me to pay more money!! I explained to them that I have already invested a HUGE amount of money in them thus far and I can't afford to give them more money and turn around and hire another attorney. I was completely at a loss and felt so taken advantage of!! I offered to make payments but was quickly rejected. I picked myself up for my kids sake and found a GREAT attorney. A few months went by and I was contacted by a collection agency who are acting on behalf of the Burnham law firm. They explained that not only would I need to pay the ridiculous amount of money the Burnham law firm felt I owed, but now I needed to also pay interest!! Needless to say I never saw a day in court using the Burnham law firm and I am still paying months and months later!! BUYER BEWARE!! read more

JP Prentiss, one of the firm's attorneys represented me in a post-divorce matter. The first time I met JP Prentiss his dog was in the office and he was more attending to the dog's needs than paying attention to what I said. Throughout the time he represented me, he barely listened to me (although the dog was not in the office any more), resulting in the superficial and inaccurate knowledge of the case and plain wrong recommendations. An arrogant attorney who does not listen to his client, but suggests "one size fits all" solutions. After several months I had to find another attorney. I also find Todd Burnham, the firm's founding partner, who recommended that I work with JP, to be similarly arrogant. read more

They misrepresented themselves and their attorney's skills set just to win business telling me the attorney they assigned me too was best litigation attorney they had. After be charged thousands of dollars in fees and mis-consulted on multiple pieces of my case, attorney bombed in court coming unprepared and froze. After court then being told by said attorney admitted they were not a trial attorney. No empathy, no apologies, just a bill for their hours. read more

I meet with Todd Burham for my Divorce back in 2016. I told Mr. Burham what I could pay upfront and that he would get his money but it might take a little while. He stated that he is not worried about the money. Before I even went to emergency orders hearing, the lawyer that was assigned to my case left the firm so I was signed a new lawyer. After speaking with this lawyer she stated that I was going to be charged for her time. I emailed Mr. Burham asking why I was going to be charged since I have already paid, he stated he would check into this. He came back and said I was not going to be charged. My total bill from Begging of February to the middle of April was over $17,000.00. Why was it so much?? After this hearing I was told my new balance was little over $6000.00 more and a few months later that lawyer left the firm too. I was then told that I needed to pay the balance of my bill which was over $6000.00. The Burham law firm already received $17000.00 from me and because I could not come up the other $6000.00 they dropped my case and through email Mr. Burham stated that the bottom line is that I just need to pay my balance but in the very begging he was not worried about the money. I did not have legal representation at my final hearing. I never got any of the case paperwork from this law office. Since they drop me I have been making payments to them because the last statement that I received was right before the last lawyer left my case. They last time I got an invoice was 6/3/2016 the amount on the invoice was $5681.00. So today 8/1/2017 I decided to call and I was told that I stilled owed little over 47 hundred dollars. Since July of 2016 until July of 2017 I have $1000.00 because I have not received a new invoice. When I asked why I have not received a new invoice I was told that the person was instructed not to send out new invoices. The funny thing is this the last invoice that I received was in June of 2016 but was told today that there were other charges. If you are looking at this Law Firm I would suggest that you look someplace else. This law fire took my money and drop me in my time of need because I owed little over 6 thousand dollars after Mr. Burham said he was not worried about the money. The two lawyer assigned to my case both left and the paralegal left as well right before I was dropped. read more
