Upon a recommendation by my friend, I brought my 16-year-old grandson in for his yearly photos & did he have a blast! They gave him a senior session w-& w/o his guitars & his dog. Chris, who I've just come to learn is the new studio owner, was his photographer. He had him laughing and smiling throughout so many of them. He also did some serious looking modeling type shots which he could use for his band's social media. Hands down, these are the best photos he's ever had and now his friends are interested in coming down. I did manage to narrow down our choices somewhat, but not by much, they were that good! I also i purchased an awesome slide show of all the images set to music and a composite that Chris designed of my favorites for myself. Everyone was so friendly & knowledgeable. They answered all his questions regarding the digitals that we purchased, as well (not only for his music career, but because his family couldn't make up their minds on which ones they loved the most!) The first thing he said when we walked out the door was, "That was sooo cool!!! We got to come back next year!" From setting up the appointment to checking in and checking out, to the ordering... Burns Photography is ridiculously expensive, in my opinion, and you get nothing for your money. I was charged a $50 sitting fee for 20 minutes of a photographer's time (the photographer was a nice person)...but that includes no photos, and the fee doesn't go towards the photo purchase. I feel I was charged an outrageous amount for pictures, and the whole time on the phone during the purchasing appointment I was being told all the things I could add for even more money. When I asked why they charged so much, I got an earful about all the phone calls they have to make and emails they have to send out to get kids in to take pictures. Are you kidding me??? Burns makes money at the end of all those phone calls and emails, so why would you give that as an explanation for why your prices are high? Burns has a lucrative contract with a lot of schools in the area - do you really need to rake parents of seniors over the coals? Burns photography looks like nothing but a money grab. The same photo package I can purchase for my freshman at $40 is now magically $150 because my kid is a senior. It's a real shame. read more

They are the default option for the park district sports photos. The park district should look for a different sponsor. They are not good. The photos are mediocre, nothing special and most importantly they cannot deliver on time. Their order form stated a link for proofs would be sent 48 hours after the event. Two weeks later still no link. I had to inquire twice and still had no link on week 3. Finally a link was sent but I was told my purchased digital image wouldn't be available until orders were released. I was told that would happen on Friday or Monday. It's now Wednesday and crickets. Again. It should be this difficult. It's been a month and football season is nearly over. Prepare to get "burned" if you use Burns Photography. Never again. read more

I am very unhappy with these people. We used them because they have the contract with the LW schools, and my son is a senior. After sitting for the photo shoot, we made an appointment to return to order photos. We showed up 5 minutes before our scheduled appointment, only to be told that they were "running late." The first person at the front went and got someone else who came and asked us to return 90 minutes later. No one called to tell us they were late. If they had, we could have saved the hassle of going over there for nothing. I am NOT happy that because someone else is late (they told us that the person before us was 25 minutes late and essentially took our spot), we are pushed out of our appointment. And then, because we are going out of town, we cannot go look at these photos for several weeks which means we will miss out on the so-called discount they give off the ridiculously overpriced photos if you order within a certain time after your photo session. When I asked the receptionist about that, she said she would talk to her manager to see if we could get the discount, but she wasn't sure, even though WE WERE THERE and ready to buy at the time they gave us, but they were unable to uphold their end of the bargain. I am completely disgusted by the way we have been treated here. read more

My son went here for his senior pictures and overall they were very professional and courteous and produced very good pictures. I was happy with my package. However... be prepared, they are very expensive. The cheapest package was $250.00 even with their sales and discounts. Personally, if I were to do it again I would get the yearbook photo taken only and go elsewhere for the senior pictures and save $100. In addition their marketing was very aggressive. Our high school gave out our telephone number and emails and immediately they started calling and emailing over the summer to get you to set up a photo sitting. They do good work but so expensive and packages ridiculously high! I am disappointed LWE high school has decided to use them this year for Senior photos! Why can't a person choose photo sizes they want without having to do a package? Also, beware 50.00 is the " sitting fee"! I was told they have to charge these prices because of all the phone calls and emails they need to send out. I preferred who East used in the past. Not everyone has $$$ they can afford to spend for senior photos. read more

I had a session here in the beginning of the summer because my high-school required that we use this company for our senior yearbook photos. They were very professional and nice and when I viewed the photos during our viewing session they looked very nice. So, my mother and I decided to purchase one of the photos despite the outrageous prices. I just now received my photos almost two months later and they look horrendous and nothing like they did during the viewing session! We also already paid for these photos and we are outraged!! I'm 17 and these photos made me look like I was 8 months pregnant. We also didn't ask for any touch ups and it looks like they did a lot of editing to this photo anyways. Thankfully, we didn't do the package that most people my age did where you had more than 9 total photos taken because now we saved so much money and will be going somewhere else for the rest of my senior photos. read more

My son just had his Senior HS photos done and they are phenomenal! I've never seen such dramatic effects. The artist who took the photos, Rickey, was truly an artist. He put my son at ease and captured unbelievable photos. Lisa, the manager is extremely helpful and willing to work with the client. They have various packages to choose from but will customize to accommodate. They make great suggestions on the framing and poses. It was tough to make choices because the photos were so good. I would definitely highly recommend Burns to anyone, everyone! read more

I have only had GREAT experiences at Burns photography. They are wonderful in getting the kids to "cooperate" and Mr Burns is always so fun and personable. And yes they are a bit expensive but the quality is also amazing and they have so many backgrounds to work with. read more

My daughter went for her senior pictures at Burns photography. When her photo's came in the cap and gown ones looked awful. Lauren agreed and told us she would get back to us. That she would talked to Mr Burns. Well its has been over a month and she never contacted me. So i called they left a note in her box and still nothing. So I called and left a nice long message saying thanks for getting back to me I wanted Karen to contact me because she is the manager. Well guess what Lauren called back and told me she just got the note. and she was in out of the office.over a month. Then she wanted to inconvenience us again and retake my daughters photo's. I told her well I wasn't good for you and now your not good for me. Then we got disconnected (funny) so I figured she hung up on me. So thats how Burns Photography does business!!! Great photos, horrible customer service. OUTRAGEOUS pricing! Senior photos you have to spend at least $250! Not a place that is flexible for single parents in the Lincoln-Way district. $$$$$ Not to mention they don't work with you for pricing they just keep saying "These are professional photos, we stride in the best picture taking experience". Meanwhile $625 for school $250 for parking pass $50 for yearbook $50 for cap and gown $150 for prom $200 for prom dress $1,200 for marching band then $500 for PICTURES? Again, for the upper class double income families of district 210 this place is reasonable, but there are no financial options for the single income house holds. Shame on you Burns. I don't care if your voted number one in the country! It's not about money, it should be about community but when you can call your prices how you want you should also work with people so they can afford their kids memories! read more

I took my son for senior pictures and they were nice enough but OMG when they handed me the prices! Shame on them for jacking those up for senior pictures and shame on Lincoln Way for allowing this. Really? 4 picture package for $325.00??? That is completely outrageous! The "Best Value" package is over $1000. Who can afford this? There is no way we will be buying any of these no matter how good they look. I am in shock, professional or not these prices are a sin. How come they don't charge those prices for the school pictures they do at the school during the school year or for the baseball pictures they just did for my younger son's team? Is it Because they are seniors and we are all sentimental and sad that our babies are leaving us? We call this a once in a lifetime picture experience and rape people to buy them. They came to my golf match and took pictures of the team and there were ZERO pictures of me. I am not happy with the work that this company does and I WOULD NOT recommend them to anyone. I will NEVER buy pictures from here again. There were pictures of all my other teammates and not ONE of me. I even saw him point the camera at me and the photos are not on the website. I think that is absolutely ridiculous and I hope this review helps you decide to find another photo place. read more

I ordered a photo from Burns Photography for senior pictures and was quite disappointed. First of all the price is very high, which I figure ok professional once in a lifetime, but the quality doesn't even come close to the price. I order a 16 x20" print in sepia and it was just horrible. No where close to what they showed me on the big screen in their viewing room. So they said they wanted to make me happy and re did the print, still not even close. Then the lip service started coming; they would say things like they like the one they printed was better, and that I'm the one that wanted black & white. Well, first of all it wasn't black & white and it was far from better. The third print was closer but again not what I was showed. They tried to make it my fault saying that I ordered a special print. Not true, I ordered from their offerings. The owner would not admit to the difference, he would just say that he prefers the one they printed. I'll never be back. I can do better myself and have shutterfly print them to my satisfaction for 1/10th of the cost, yes that's right One Tenth! Beware! read more

HUGE RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!A lot of the local schools use this photography studio so you have no choice but to have them take your child's photo. They try to charge you alot of money up front just for the option of choosing which photo they put in your son or daughter's yearbook. You choose the pictures on a computer screen and then if you're not happy with the final print you're out of luck. NO REFUNDS!!! They are ridiculously expensive for sub par work. Be prepared to pay between $250-500.00 for a basic package with awful retouching. You would get better photos at Kmart or Walmart for alot less money. I wouldn't mind paying alot of money for good photos but I have never liked any photos that they take. read more
