Shocking quality pedicure and unfortunately the worst I've ever received. Cannot recommend. the good: salon was nice and busy and staff were friendly. The bad: Staff doing pedicure seemed rushed and left bubbles and missed bits of nail while also painting over the cuticles. Politely pointed out to staff that a few nails weren't looking great and they painted a few more layers on top. Left after staff said nails were dry. The ugly: upon arrriving home, nails appeared chunky and uneven. Nail polish had not dried properly and had started slide off one toe. read more

Beyond shocking quality - went in for a new set and left with my hands painted. Two ladies chatted the whole time; one sprayed my nails while the other half-heartedly tried wiping my fingers with acetone (which didn't work). When I returned the next day to show the man that the paint was all over my fingers and wouldn't come off, I asked if I could be compensated or talk to the manager. The guy said the manager isn't here as he lives in another country. They refused to help me and could only offer a voucher (which just gives them more business). Seems like a lot of these reviews are from a long time ago, so I'll give a more recent experience. I went in this morning to get my nails done, and I've been here a few times before. I'm always happy with my nails, but I find that is much of a muchness with SNS nails. Don't get me wrong, my nails look great! But most places I've been to before have done just as well. What really stood out what their customer service. I have three young kids and took the baby in with me as it was my only opportunity before family photos on the weekend. My son was niggly, and I had all my fingers wrapped in tin foil. So the lovely lady doing my nails opened my baby a snack for me, and gave it to him. Another staff member was chatting to him to keep him calm. When it was obvious he needed to leave, they used two staff to finish my nails as quickly as possible. All with a smile and a friendly chat. I never felt like I wasn't welcome, even with a fussy baby. It makes a big difference to mothers to do a small self care for themselves, and I'm glad I went to Burnside Nails. Saturday, 25 Feb 2023 - very disappointing indeed. My pedicure was very underwhelming. The technician chatted the whole time with her colleague seated next to her. She only scrubbed the base of one foot, the other only got a lick. She cut my big toe nails crooked and did not use the cuticle clippers at all. I spoke to a lady strolling around the shop supervising that I was not pleased. She said, "perhaps she didn't want to cut your skin". What?? That's what cuticle scissors do, they remove the dead skin from around the cuticle and nail! I repeated my concern at the pay counter, showed my dry skin and it was totally ignored and the full price debited from my card. I will not be returning. Disappointing experience. I was a walk in and it wasn't overly busy so I was seated right away and asked for a shellac pedicure to replace the current one I had. I was asked what I wanted in terms of trimming & shaping and directed as such which was ignored as none of it took place. I reminded them what I was after and was made to feel as if I were an inconvenience, yet I still wasn't getting what I asked and I did ask a few more times until I felt too uncomfortable to ask again. I mentioned at the front counter when I paid that I wasn't too pleased as to me it was a messy job, but that was also ignored. The 4 week old pedicure I came in with was nicer than what I left with which is such a shame when you're paying to have a nice treat! read more

I've had gel mani's and pedi's at Burnside Nails & Spa on a few occasions now and have always had a good experience. They're usually pretty easy to get into (the last time I went I called up only half an hour before to get in), the pricing is pretty good and my gel nails have generally lasted me a good 3-4 weeks on my hands and longer on my toes. I had one instance where a nail came off after only a few days and they would have fixed this for me if I'd been able to get in, but unfortunately I didn't have time to get in there. Other than that, no problems in around 6-7 visits and they remain my go-to for nail appointments in my lunch break. read more

Disgusting! Extremely unprofessional service! I am taking the time to write a detailed review because the quality of service provided by this store is horrible. To begin with, their telephone manners are terrible (experienced this on 2 different occasions) and the staff was not able to take down my details properly when i wanted to book in for a manicure. Upon arrival they prepped me for a pedicure, when i had initially booked time for a manicure! after this confusion was sorted, my manicure began, and let me tell you, it was a nightmare from hell. While prepping my cuticles before application of nail polish, the girl who was doing it injured my ring finger. It started stinging from the pain and the skin on the spot was severely injured. Throughout the manicure, it hurt so much, but I kept quiet as I did not want to make a scene at the store. She did not even seem to care, given that she clearly saw what her carelessness had done to my finger. she did not apply my nailpolish in a professional manner, and it was a job half done. I was prepared to endure all this, but throughout the WHOLE time she was applying nail polish and prepping my nails, the other more experienced staff, and the owner himself was hovering around (rather popping their heads so close to my nails) to check if the girl who was doing my nails was doing a good job or not. I felt very uncomfortable, and disgusted by this. I am not a test subject where things are practiced on! I pay full price for a good manicure and this behaviour was unacceptable on so many levels. It took more than 2 weeks for my ring finger to heal from her careless unprofessional mistake. I was extremely annoyed, and livid regarding this experience. This shop is not suitable on any level to be located within the Burnside area, and the reputed Burnside shopping complex. DO NOT VISIT THIS STORE. SAVE YOUR TIME/MONEY AND SANITY. read more
