This is like walking into a relaxing day spa. The decor is modern, white and calming. The staff welcomed me and asked if I wanted a water whilst I was waiting. Still or sparkling. I also also chose my nail colour, paparazzi pink. When ready I walked over to the long mani table. I had the signature treatment. It included a soak, nail filing, hand scrub, massage, and nail polish. It cost $65 for 45 min, which is pretty reasonable if you want the works. They also do pedis and have a podiatrist to manage any others ailments you may have. How many nail spas have that? I'd love to come back for a pedi.

The bad: Staff doing pedicure seemed rushed and left bubbles and missed bits of nail while also painting over the cuticles. Politely pointed out to staff that a few nails weren't looking great and they painted a few more layers on top. Left after staff said nails were dry. The ugly: upon arrriving home, nails appeared chunky and uneven. Nail polish had not dried properly and had started slide off one toe.

So my first experience in a nail salon was certainly an interesting one. I'll fess up first - having a voucher to this place was the only thing that got me through the door in the first place. So I'm not an expert. First thought upon walking into Allure Nails & Beauty - "should I not be able to breathe properly in here?" Second though upon sitting down at the chair - "really, why is there no ventilation in here?" Third thought - as my nails were being filed, polished and shellac painted - "I could get used to this!" Final thought walking out with less than shiny nails with a few imperfections and kind of looking like I had a go myself at a few - "I don't think I would pay full price for this service." At the end of the day though these guys do $20 shellac nails ($5 to remove), the staff are friendly and for a "first time user" it wasn't a bad induction to the world of nail treatments.

They are all extremely nice and make you feel comfortable and trusting. Bikini waxes (and triple X's) are always awkward. You get a bit nervous getting your parts out for someone else! But Linda and her employees are extremely nice. They are as gentle as they can be and chat away with you ensuring that you are happy. They use a range of waxes, so the right one can be used on the right body part and you can have the best result. It is not extremely cheap as it is a small boutique shop, not a chain. But the service is very personal and I definitely think it is worth spending the extra money. They shop also offers tans and manicures. I have never had either here, but I think that the quality would be great like everything else they offer.
