From beginners all the way to pro fighters. The little dragons program is a prime example of the future of this gym. Kru Todd has already trained kids from children to teens and coached many to be some of the best talent in Canada. There is no pressure to fight. Many members are there simply for the amazing workout and fitness aspect of the gym. The gym is equipped with professional grade mats, punching bags, full sized boxing ring, and various equipment to push you to the next level of fitness. The Sensei of the club was attentive when he was trying to get my son to join, but after a few months he couldn't even remember his name. Literally--he wrote the kids names in markers on their gi's so that the instructors could remember them. The level of training we receive now at Budokan is far superior to anything I experienced previously. Not only is it less expensive, but it's clear that Sensei Ken cares about his students. He really makes them feel like they belong, they are more disciplined and the techniques are far more advanced. In addition, Sensei is the one who actually teaches the classes, in our last dojo the Sensei had young teenage students instructing while he would make appearances in the last five minutes. It's a pleasure to see an instructor teaching because he loves the art. I have been so happy with Budokan that my husband and I joined as well and now we go as a family.

The club started great but sadly, the management there is terrible. The management has no idea how…read moreto manage and sadly, they will manage it into the ground. They literally know nothing except "it's corporate policy." There is no membership loyalty there and they do nothing to maintain or try to help their existing members. They don't even try. Take that in. Don't even try! Even though I have been going there a couple years, my price increase this year is $263 plus tax! I was paying annually so I didn't have to worry about payment more that once/year. They have my money upfront to earn them interest for the year but It worked for me. Yet I get penalized for it. It was already expensive but they just priced themselves out of the market. I understand that everything in this world is more expensive, but wow! A gym membership is a luxury and they just don't understand that people won't be able to afford that kind of increase. They got many new members (greater than 100) after a gym in the area closed and they had a special to recruit them. If they can do that for them, why not for existing members? They managed to get that through "corporate." No customer retention period. Even the monthly payments are going up (according to their member experience supervisor) yet they claim that if you pay monthly or bi-weekly, your payments will stay the same. Say one thing, do another. Exactly what happened to me. Also, they aren't keeping up with little things there. The womens gym has had to tred mills broken for 3-4 months now claiming waiting for parts. One of the tred mills has buttons so hard to get to work everyone avoids it. They took 3 TV's out of the womens gym. Why? The pool is down for maintenace frequently. Black spots on the ceiling in the womens shower area...black mold? Just all the little things that are accumulating. Some of their class instrctors are amazing...I mean AMAZING! They go around the room and make sure you have good form so you don't injure yourself, are cheerful and interactive with the class, change up the class a bit each day so it doesn't get boring, move at a pace that isn't so fast members aren't at risk of injury from the shear speed they want us to move, show options and have fun with the people in the class. Others instructors get up infront of the room and just get a good workout themselves.They don't show what we should be doing, don't show different options (ie: easy, mid and harder) or correct if there are poor body mechanics or interact with the class. One of them claims there isn't enough room to move around the room but she claims corporate policy says they have to allow that many people in the class. Again, corporate policy and metrics following without forethought into actual member safety. So sad because it was a great place. Now they are just corporate machines that act without keeping in mind the customer experience counts for far more than they realize.

Carrie was so unbelievably rude! I went in to get a new card. I did not have a mask on because I…read morewas born with a heart condition and cannot wear a mask (Unless I want to collapse) Movati says everyone has to wear a mask. Clearly discrimination is ok at that gym. I asked Carrie to provide me with a mask. She said we don't have masks for our clients and refused to help me. Working out has kept me going and is great for my heart. Her tone of voice was belittling! I can't believe she works in customer service. When I came back in with a mask... she disappeared so she wouldn't have to deal with me. Carrie with short blonde hair needs to be retrained! And needs manners when dealing with people! She could have handled this situation much better! Perhaps a factory job would be a better fit... no customer service. Go into the gym with a mask... get onto a machine and take the mask off. Finish on the machine and put the mask on. After a cardio workout... your body needs oxygen. I canceled my membership after 7 years. This place is a disgrace. Plus staff who work at a gym shouldn't be overweight... that shows a bad message!
