I had a written contract with Chad and his company Bushwackers Landscaping to put in new sod he did a good job putting it in but within six months a big portion of it died. The contract stated that if there was an issue within the first year Bushwackers would make it right. Well Chad has completely ignored his responsibility saying it is not his responsibility even though it is written in black and white and it is his contract that he provided. He lied and said his contract did not state there was. One year guarantee even after I provided him a copy of his contract. They really bad part is I paid him almost $5000 more than the next closest bid because he stated and put in writing. He had a one year guarantee. He even came up with a lame excuse that how could he be responsible for something he did not maintain. The problem with that was I offered to have him maintain was it, and he said he did not have the time or the people to maintain it. So I got with the company that professionally treats my yard every quarter and they put together a plan specifically for the type of grass. You should not believe a word Chad says, even when he puts it in writing !! read more

Bushwhackers had landscaped several homes in my neighborhood, and after interviewing several other landscapers, I decided to go with them because I liked how the other homes looked after they finished. While I was happy with the landscaping plan, the time for completion was vastly underestimated. I was told it would take a week to ten days to complete the work, which actually turned into just shy of a month. If you choose Bushwhackers, you will need to keep a close eye on the work. When I got home from work, they had started putting up the pergola, and there was a huge chunk missing from one of the beams. We had to go several rounds about that not being acceptable, and the fact that they felt that was ok should not have even been a discussion that needed to be had. I told them that I wanted the cookie cutter bushes the builder put in moved to the sides of the house when the front yard was redone. I got home just in time as they were about to pull off with all those bushes in the back of their truck. Luckily, I was in time to stop them and get them put the bushes where they were told to plant them. Once the work was finished, I was generally pleased with how it turned out. I also signed a two-year contract for them to care for the yard. They did a decent job keeping up with the yard care for those two years. When the contract was up, I decided to renew it again. After renewing the contract, in conversations with my neighbors, they mentioned that they were discontinuing Bushwhackers because they were unhappy with their service. Soon, I was the only homeowner in my neighborhood that was still using them. Shortly after renewing, circuits started tripping in the house and they could not be reset. We called in an electrician to find the problem. It turned out to be the water feature that Bushwhackers installed. Instead of properly wiring the water feature, they cobbled together a series of extension cords across the yard and buried them up to a power source. We ended up having the electrician wire it properly with a new control box, an unnecessary expense if they had done the job correctly. At this point, being their only customer in the area, they started to become less responsive. At one point, I asked if someone could come out to discuss several issues in the yard and was told I did not give them "enough notice". So, I had a vacation coming up and I asked them nineteen days in advance for a day and either morning or afternoon window to come out. I was told that they could not do that, but someone will be out between Monday and Wednesday. I guess I was supposed to sit around for three days and wait on them to show up. It was at this point I decided I was done and would not renew once my maintenance contract was up. When it was close to the contract ending, I received an email from them stating that I was the only person in the area, and the drive was too far for them to continue, which I was perfectly ok with since I didn't plan to renew anyway, but I expected them to fulfill their contract. At this point they started skipping several of my prepaid weekly services. When I would call to find out why I was being skipped, they would not answer the phone or return messages or emails. This speaks volumes of their professionalism. When I tried to get in contact and sent messages about refunding the money I was owed due to them skipping my weekly service, I have been met with silence. I guess that fulfilling their end of a contract means little to them. My advise if you decide to use them is to make sure you are able to be there the entire time frame to watch them and make sue the work is done correctly and to your satisfaction, and do not use them for your yard maintenance. If you do decide that you want them to maintain your property, do not sign a contract with them since it appears they mean nothing, and pay them monthly in case they decide to ghost you as well. read more

We had a 9:00AM appointment for Bushwackers to come to our house this morning to look at our yard and give us a bid on some work. We even got a call yesterday reminding us they were coming, but this morning no call, and no show. Unless there was a critical emergency this is totally unacceptable! If I here something later (an excuse) I can believe I will update my review. But, for now, they seem to be too good for our business. read more
