I saw this place on insta and wanted to go try. Cute place with only outdoor seating. The portions are large. Look forward to going back to try lunch.

So good I was excited for my next visit before I even ordered! One glance at the menu and my eyes lit up with the endless breakfast possibilities. Do I go cinnamon roll? Breakfast burritos, and if so, which one? Or do I go breakfast sandwich? I do love a good biscuit afterall. I had originally come across Busy Bee's on Yelp and was drawn in by their massive cinnamon roll, so that was a must. Perfect for sharing too, since it is so big. For my main breakfast though, I got the Biscuit Sandwich, which was massive. It was loaded up with bacon and the scrambled egg spilling over the side. Made me full for many hours, but was so worth it. Came here on a Saturday morning and the place was poppin'. Time for hot breakfast items to come out was about 20 minutes after ordering. Luckily that did not include the cinnamon roll, which we got right away. I had planned on only taking a bite or two and saving the rest to share with others later, but it was so good I ended up taking about 5 bites before saving the rest. Can't wait to come back here and try some of the breakfast burritos. They have some very unique options you don't typically see, so excited to see if they taste as good as they sound!

We came to try the biscuit sandwich but ended up getting the biscuits and gravy burrito instead which my friend said was good and would get it again. I got the biscuits and gravy bowl which was just ok. The biscuit was very dry and on the sweet side. The gravy had tons of sausage, almost too much. The omelet on top was a little dry as well. We tried the blueberry muffin also dry and the cinnamon rolls were meh.

Came across this place and knew I had to try their cinnamon roll. You order inside of the restaurant and pick up your order through their pick up window. There is no indoor seating, but there is some outdoor seating available. You can order to go or dine in. We tried one of their burritos with green salsa on the side. Their salsa was delicious! I ordered their In Da Club sandwich, but ended up getting their BLTA. It was still very delicious. Their cinnamon roll is delicious! They warmed it up, so we ate it while we waited for our food. There is parking available, but it's kind of small as their are other businesses.

The breakfast sandwiches here are not to be missed!! They make all of their bread from scratch here and it is so fantastic, pillowy and soft. The outside patio seating area can get a bit windy. Be aware there is no bathroom here and you will have to walk to a nearby grocery store if you need to use the bathroom.

What's in the photo??? Just my favorite sandwich of the year.

Ya'll! If it is ANYWHERE near Thanksgiving when you're reading this I need to to follow my words closely. Go to Busy Bees. Order the Thanksgiving sando. Sub toasted herby bread. Trust me... the crunch factor. Thank me & them. FYI- unlike others, you can get this sando anytime they're open!!! Don't get mad at me that you missed out. Look, I can't go in this place without coming out with a cinnamon roll. Best in town. That Benedict burrito? Heaven! The biscuit is a dream & I kinda hate biscuits But 'round my all time favorite holiday/ all time favorite sando season, if you're not getting the Thanksgiving Sandwich, (with toasted herb bread) you're not living correctly during this, the most sacred of all food seasons.

I love the breakfast items at Busy Bee! The biscuits are amazing, and the bowls are top-notch. I usually avoid the potatoes at most places, but the ones they make are well-seasoned and delicious. So good!

    Side of Bacon

Great food! My only issue - $6 for TWO TINY A$$ PIECES of bacon. Not thick cut, nothing special about it. Six whole dollars. Seriously? Lol. For $4.50 I can get 10 slices at Safeway!! (And it would be thick cut at least!!!) The food is good, but this overpriced & dainty side of bacon makes me wonder where else in the menu we are less obviously getting ripped off. Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

    Biscuits & Gravy Burrito

We know there is no shortage of amazing breakfast burritos in Santa Cruz, but make Busy Bee's Biscuits & Gravy Burrito a priority. It is like nothing we have had before and it has created a whole new craving. It was perfect for my girlfriend and me to cut in half and share. You might come for the burritos, but you will stay for the cinnamon rolls. Yes, it is a heavy duty meal, but no lie, these are the best cinnamon rolls we have had in California, and my girlfriend basically makes it her mission to seek out great ones. Most importantly, they are actually good people. We only interacted with them for a few minutes, but the care and consideration in their customer service felt like we time traveled to a better time. The manager or owner checked on us, brought out our food, and even brought extra salsas. They did not know we were celebrating our 5th anniversary, but we left feeling like they had already made our day extra special!

We have mixed feelings about this place. I'd rate them 3.5 Yelps if I could. If you are craving a good sandwich in the 41st Ave area Wed-Sun 8am-2 pm, this can be a good option. They do have a nice, pet friendly outdoor patio setup. All their sandwiches are made to order. What we have had here is good, but probably not the best we've had around town... * Reuben -- Good thick cuts of pastrami, loads of sauerkraut sandwiches in toasted rye. Tasty, and great rye bread. * Tuna Melt -- Meh. Canned tuna, some melty cheese in the middle. Toasted herb bread is nice but a bit dry. Not particularly memorable. (I like my tuna melt with house made tuna, nicely buttered grilled sourdough... extra points for grilled cheese crust.) No guest restrooms, which could be a bit of an issue if you need to wash your hands before handling your sandwiches. Service is friendly enough.

We had a guest list of 150, and Angela and her team executed this very high quantity of food without sacrificing any quality or taste. We had the roast chicken, tri-tip, potatoes, asparagus, mixed greens salad, and rustic bread loaves. For our appetizers, we went simple and just did the cheese & charcuterie plus shrimp cocktail. I am so glad we went simple and "bare bones", because everything was well prepared, well presented, and delicious. And we still had a lot of leftovers!! Angela was also great to work with - very responsive and well communicative throughout the process. And her staff on site was fantastic - they did bussing and made sure everyone was satisfied with their meals. They also made sure that me and my groom had a chance to eat - which I have heard a lot of couples say they never get to eat the food at their wedding (I was determined to - it's the most expensive meal you'll ever have!!). The price was less than what other caterers charge, but with all the service and additional fees it still comes out to a pretty penny. But I'd do it again, because honestly there were no complaints from guests. And it's worth spending money for good food, good service, and happy guests. I'd recommend Angela blessing for any wedding or special event - glad I found her on Yelp!

I booked very early on with her and had many questions and follow ups. She always responded promptly with love, compassion, and a clear passion for her work. In addition, when Alicia joined on our team, she integrated seamlessly when working alongside Molly. We were so impressed by Molly's cooking (and overall hospitality and gratitude) when we enjoyed her tasting. We lowered our expectations when we assumed that food made in bulk for a wedding wouldn't be as good. I am so so pleased to say the food was just as incredible when it served over 110 guests. It greatly exceeded our expectations. Molly cooks with love. You can feel it when you're enjoying your meal. We got so many compliments from our guests who came up to us raving about how delicious everything was. In addition, Wylder Space did more than just cook! While the food eventually arrived, the experience leading up to and during the event was fraught with unnecessary stress. Initial communication was great, but it trailed off as we got closer to the date. Despite their "quick response" phone number, my calls and texts went completely ignored. To make matters worse, the voicemail changed from a personal greeting to a generic one 72 hours before my event, leaving me terrified that we had been scammed. We increased our headcount from 65 to 75 a week prior. After being told this was fine, I was sent an incorrect invoice that ignored the new guest count and asked for a second $300 deposit I had already paid. It took multiple follow-up emails just to get a confirmation on the final numbers. On the day of, the staff arrived promptly and set up on time. However, only 30 minutes into service--with only 30 of our 75 guests fed--they completely ran out of cilantro, onions, and grilled peppers. When I followed up the next day, they claimed they prepared for "70 guests." Even if that were true, it wasn't the 75 we paid for, and it certainly doesn't explain running out of basic toppings after 30 people. I'm incredibly glad we didn't use them for our wedding last year as originally planned. It's disappointing when the service doesn't match the reputation. 2 stars for due prompt service and the guests that got all the food really enjoyed the steak & shrimp.
