Butler Music I recently purchased a damaged Dean guitar from them but when I received the guitar it had additional damage that wasn't noted on their listing. There was a substantial crack in the neck which may have occured because they didn't loosen the strings for shipping. I called them and requested a 50% discount ($75) because I didn't want to deal with having to ship it back. They refused and the person became condescending and told me to have a "blessed day". When confronted and called by customers regarding complaints and exchanges, He then used this opportunity to try to upsell them into more expensive and better condition instruments. Bought a guitar from this store via Amazon. Guitar arrived damaged in three separate ways. Store told me they wouldn't be able to get me a replacement for several months although their inventory shows that they have another in stock. They also told me I should take my problem up with Fender. Fender did not like that response from Butler. This business is intentionally selling defective guitars that have been damaged in Butler music, to unsuspecting Amazon customers. I will be boxing everything in the UPS store and recording the entire process as I recommend to anyone else that falls victim to this scam. I purchased a fender Dave Murray signature Strat from butler music. It was listed as a B stock from fender but was in mint condition. I contacted butler to see if I could negotiate the price a bit. The manager Andy was nice and came down on the price which made this guitar a steal. When I got the guitar it was in perfect condition I couldn't find anything wrong with it just like they said. The action was too high which isn't uncommon when buying a new guitar. Here's where the problem began. I adjusted the truss rod multiple times and the neck would not stay straight. This is a fantastic guitar but unfortunately it will never play well if the truss rod doesn't work. I called and spoke to Andy (the manager) he apologized and said he would give me a refund and send me a return shipping label. I was a bit worried since I have never purchased anything from Butler Music but they didn't give me any hassle and refunded my money when they got the guitar back. Even though I had a bad experience with the guitar my overall experience with Andy was great and I would have no hesitation buying from them again. read more

The owner, Jeff, seems to be a pathological liar, saying anything to get you into the store. 1) "We're only 20 minutes from the Harrah's"....they were 45 minutes without traffic...there went 1.5 hours of my life I won't get back. 2) Owner: "We have 6 or 7 Godin's in stock, I'm looking at the wall now and see the A12, A6, Acousticaster..." The store staff couldn't find a single Godin in the store (including looking through the unboxed stock), two had never heard of Godin, and one said the A12 was in the computer but he had never seen it. 3) All, including the while on the phone with the owner whom I spoke with on Saturday, tried to direct me to a Seagull guitar as they told me how good they were. Each time I stopped them in their tracks when I asked, "What's the name on the headstock?" What a sham and shame since I was prepared to purchase the A12 if I liked it. read more

I am 61 year's young and the customer service I received from Amber and the rest of the staff was second to none! I was greeted as soon as I came in and was treated like family! Amber was very attentive and listed to what my needs were, I told here which models I wanted to look at and within a few minutes she hade them out front and she had tuned them and in stands. Absolutely a top 5 purchase experience. The staff were all very knowledgeable and very helpful, I'm not sure where the negative reviews were coming from I guess some people just can't be satisfied no matter what, I'm in sales and I treat my customers very well and that was the experience i received from Butler Music,! Sadly this Music store Is the most dishonest and amateurish I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. They sold me an Instrument described as "plays perfectly" when It arrived It was unplayable and completely broken. The seller knowing sold It that way and purposely misrepresented it. when I asked to return It they say sure but you have to pay return shipping even though It was their fault. recently we purchased a guitar from Butler Music (in Missouri) via amazon. It was not satisfactory and had several issues, it was also supposed to be BRAND NEW, we paid over $400.00 for it. When our money via the refund did not come we were concerned so we call amazon and they said to call the store (Butler Music) so our daughter did that, the told her they had it sitting in the back room for several days and just had not thought to get to it and send us our money, etc. We plan to contact the Missouri Attorney General's Office and we have spoke with our family attorney, and our bank. We also have read many reviews about Butler Music that say they are dishonest and that other customers have been scammed and ripped off on refunds and other financial matters, etc. We WILL NOT be a victim of any of these scams or rip offs, our attorney has assured us her and her firm will not allow this. We are hoping Butler Music will comply with the law and be honest enough to return our money as they are expected to.
