**Buyer Beware -- Mandatory "Insurance" That Didn't Protect Us**…read more We recently filed an insurance claim for damage to our belongings stored at Moose Crossing, and the claim was denied because there was food present in our storage unit. As previously stated, reported to management and presented to the insurance investigator the food was brought into the unit from neighboring units. NO FOOD WAS STORED IN OUR UNIT! Management requires customers to carry insurance, but when we actually needed to use that coverage, our claim was denied based on the presence of food. After paying for mandatory insurance, it is extremely frustrating to discover that the coverage does not provide the protection we reasonably expected. What makes this even worse is management's response to my previous Yelp review. They publicly invited me to contact them to "resolve" the issue. I did exactly that. I responded to the email and received an out-of-office message. No follow-up. No resolution. So the friendly public response looks good on Yelp, but my actual attempt to communicate with management went nowhere. At this point, I would seriously reconsider storing anything valuable here. The combination of mandatory insurance, a denied claim, and management that does not follow through when contacted has completely changed my opinion of this facility.

They ended up running down to Bangor, PA to pickup the pull behind trailer to meet our reservation needs. Apparently, most UHaul rental places charge or do not do this. Anyways, on the day of our move, we picked up the pull behind UHaul trailer from Home Self-Storage. The lady and gentleman in the office went above and beyond to help us out with our rental and make our moving experience much smoother than anticipated. After I removed all my items and try to get that money back that same lady told me that was not true. I had everything out 12 days in to that months lease. Come to find out if I went a day over that half month I wouldn't even get my security deposit back. I always asked for a receipt because one time they didn't record that I made a payment and they tried to charge me twice for one month. The old lady was not nice at all and very forgetful she also misinformed me several times. So I had a horrible experience with this place and specifically that woman.

In the past I used another local storage facility that was close to the Pequest river and whenever it got flooded so did some of the units and the manager was hardly even around if you needed something. The fees here are reasonable and compared to others in the county it is by far better. Being a new business owner myself I needed a facility that I could access whenever I need it, being in the car & residential tinting business and there are cameras throughout. Surrounded by residential homes and corn fields it's a very safe location.

Yes, in the middle of the meeting with family sitting around a table and sobbing. I get it that this is a job but he made it fell so transactional with badly feigned sympathy at best. Mike Bollock and his staff have all been absolutely wonderful. With the most recent passing of my sister, we were also experiencing a weather event that caused a week long power outage that also affected the funeral home. You would not have even noticed. They had generators running and they did the absolute best anyone could ask for under such conditions. I am great full to have such a wonderful,kind and caring establishment in our area to assist us in some of the most difficult times of our lives.
