Me and my friend and fellow yelper Jeremy J last Saturday was checking out new places and public art in the Shelby park and Nulu neighborhoods and this piece was on our radar. Literally right next to this mural is another mural of the legendary Albert Einstein. Which is pretty cool. This whole neighborhood block is chock full of public art and murals. So if you are a fan I highly recommend this neighborhood.

I've always felt like it *should* look like something when you get further away, materialize into a clearer picture, but I never see it. No matter...it is still lovely and bright and inviting. The colors are pretty and the promise of an emerging blooming bouquet on the wall catches your attention and draws you in. Worth visiting along with the other street art on this strip of Logan!

The mural is part of a citywide art intuitive called alley gallery where local artist paint murals on exterior doors throughout the city of Lousiville. This mural features jockeys riding race horses in what appears to be a tightly ran horse race. There are a few alley gallery renderings Similar to This. But in a city known for the Kentucky derby and a rich horse racing history it makes sense. Overall it's always fun to discover murals that are part of the alley gallery initiative. Such a cool and fun way to spread public art and giving local artist a chance to shine.

This one is on a door blocked by a garbage can so you do the best you can to get back there and take a picture as best you can and to see it but it's a pretty cool looking one and of course focuses on our horses and how we're known for horse racing.

Me and my friend and fellow yelper Jeremy J was making a day trip in the Shelby park and Nulu neighborhoods to try some places and check out public art and this piece is in a hot spot. The giant crow mural is right across the street and there was at least 7-10 other cool Murals within a 1 to 2 min walk from this location. So a great hot spot for people who enjoy and appreciate public art.

Actually located inside the park so you will have to be visiting to find this piece of public art. Cleverly plays off wall art murals in surrounding large cities in Kentucky that all seems to have a giant colorful painting that says "greetings from". So kinda a cool homage to that. The piece includes shots from popular attractions at the very same park toy are visiting. Overall cool and fun piece that I'm sure makes for fun photo ops and cover photos for scrap books and memory files.

I was not able to identify the artist or a particular theme of this mural series but it's always nice to splash some artistic life into mundane things such as parking garages. So that's nice to see Overall solid and hidden mural in downtown Lousiville. Right outside the entrance is about 3 other murals in eye sight on doors and entrances that are apart or the awesome Lousiville alley gallery program. So worth checking those out of you stumble across this mural.

Very brightly colored and unique Shelby park collage mural located just off the popular bar strip…read moreon Shelby street located next to a large parking lot near the church. I stumbled upon the begging process of this mural a month or so ago and was curious on how it would look when finished. Upon returning the other day this now has a very vibrant pink background that makes it stick out for sure. Mural was done in honor of one of the artist grandpas so I assume the randomness of some of the designs maybe hold down sort of sentimental purpose. So that is really cool. Overall cool and unique piece that is going to draw some attention and probably become a popular photo op especially for the nearby bar hoppers.

Gallopalooza horses is a series of brightly decorated derby horse sculptures spread throughout the…read morecity of Louisville to honor the cities rich tradition of horse racing. They were mainly purchased by businesses for charity causes in the early 2000's. Thai particular gallopalooza is Calle small you need is one of two gallopalooza horses that sits on the campus or sacred heart model academy campus. This particular gallopalooza sits on top a bourbon barrel which another homage to our cities history and is located right across from the Ursuline nuns home and sports fields at the entrance of wang appears to be one of the school houses on campus. Overall this is yet another wonderful painted sculpture and very well done. I enjoy discovering these horses throughout our city of Louisville and am trying to make a conscience effort to take more time to check them out and appreciate them as I come across them.
