This gigantic mural is very well done and mainly Features children and sloths. The artist did a great job on ten illustrations and who doesn't love sloths? This mural consists of a lot of them. Overall a great and fun mural to the Frankfort ave area of Lousiville Kentucky. It is easily my favorite in this area that I'm hoping adds more public art pieces soon to keep up with other popular neighborhoods in the city.

Stopped by the Squire Boone Statue while driving through town and it's one of those spots that's…read moremore about the history than the experience itself. The statue honors Squire Boone, who played a big role in establishing early settlements in Shelby County back in the late 1700s, including one of the first permanent stations in the area. The statue itself is solid and well done, and it's cool seeing a piece of local history recognized like that. It's also in a noticeable spot, so you'll probably pass it without even trying if you're heading through Shelbyville. That said, there's not a whole lot to do there beyond stopping, looking, and maybe reading up on the history. It's a quick visit more of a "pull over for a few minutes" type of place than a destination. Overall, I'd give it 3 stars. It's meaningful and worth seeing once, especially if you appreciate Kentucky history, but it's pretty limited in terms of what you can actually do while you're there.

Instead, it is his brother who visited in 1780 when Boone visited and painted his name on a rock as part of scouting and claiming the area. Back then, it was Squire Boone's Station and was the first large settlement in present-day Shelby County and counted Capt. Robert Tyler among its residents. It is right outside the brown hotel and is accompanied by many other sculptures in public art displays it well well. It's in a really nice area and is a wonderful addition of one of the derby's most famous horses.
