Lord protect this woman with everything. One week until my wedding, 3 session alterations from Bianca's bridal later and my wedding dress was still not sitting on my body correctly. How it all started... My mother found Evelyn from her raving reviews here on Yelp to have my fathers pants hemmed. My father, in his 70s and not one to warm up to many people right away absolutely loved Evelyn. She made my father feel very special and comfortable. Fast forward a few weeks I pick up my wedding dress from Bianca's Bridal in Modesto and leave feeling very disappointed with the dress after 3 different try ons and alterations. After pointing out my concerns to the seamstress at Bianca's Bridal I was told to just wear dress tape. I was not feeling heard. Sunday, the week before my wedding day, 6 days before, I am panicking over my dress fitting on me. My mother gave me the number for Evelyn but suggested I call on Monday as its Sunday and she is not open. I called anyway and she answered! Calmly (not) I describe my situation and ask if I could bring my dress in tomorrow (Monday) she asked "well when is your wedding?"...."this Saturday", I replied... "Girl, get in here now!" she replied. I was in tears at her eagerness to help me. Within the hour we were at her home (my mother and I) and once I had the dress on and pointed out my concern she pins the back of my dress and says "this is too big on you, I need to take it in about 4 inches" My eyes got huge but I was not worried as I had all the confidence in the world she would fix my beautiful wedding dress. "Ill have your dress ready Friday at 11am". The day before the wedding. There was a point where my Fiance (now husband) was worried for me after my experience with Bianca's Bridal and even suggested I buy a back up dress just incase. Fast forward, I was able to pick my dress up on Thursday morning and it fit PERFECTLY. I truly mean it when I say Evelyn is a true savior for brides everywhere. She easily could have turned me away, said come Monday or just straight not answered my call on her day off. Evelyn altered my bridesmaid dress. When I called to make an appointment she responded very quickly and I was able to see her the following week. She also accommodated me by allowing me to bring my two kids. I wasn't going to bring my kids but my husband had to work last minute and I was so happy that she let me bring my kids. I met Evelyn at the Joann Fabric store when I was shopping for quilting materials for my son's 1st grade teacher. I was completely lost at that store but Evelyn came over to me and immediately started to help me. She was so sweet. She help gather the fabric that best matched a pattern I liked.
