I love Cisco. We went through it before and I follow the town on insta. They create artwork and do things on their own. I admire their perseverance. So when I saw the general store open we had to stop. I love the snacks, antiques and odds and ends available to purchase. I had to have an ice cream and bought a coozie for him and a flap book for my boss's birthday. Such a fun stop. And they take credit cards so that was awesome! The decor outside is cute. A dinosaur, dinosaur heads, a robot and a robot dog. Photo ops galore. read more

This little store kind of in the middle of nowhere in Utah is a fun one to look around in. It has a wide variety of items for sale, from little snacks, souvenirs, clothing, etc. The gal working was friendly and we enjoyed talking with her for a few minutes. It sounds like she takes great pride in her store. It closes down in the winter. read more

April, 2024. I really wanted to love this place -- but, alas, the surrounding "almost ghost town" and eclectic decorations and products in the store and yard were eerie enough to make me uncomfortable. As background, Buzzards Belly welcomes RVs for overnight stays through the Harvest Hosts Program, which we greatly appreciated. The parking area was recently graveled and was flat. However, it's in an area of abandoned buildings that have become somewhat of a tourist attraction and had cars pulling into and out of the parking lot every few minutes. When we first arrived, the store was already closed and recognizing that we were many, many miles from other towns, we wondered if we would be safe parking there overnight. We were relieved when another RV joined us for the night in the parking lot. The good news was that we were indeed safe and actually saw a wonderful sunset and pitch black night skies to enjoy. In the morning, we waited for the store to open so we could patronize it for their hospitality. The store had an eclectic selection of items, but we ultimately purchased a beautiful hand-woven? basket ($30) and a refrigerator magnet. Prices were slightly higher than the stores that we generally frequent but, that said, I'd definitely pay more for any necessity I might need in the middle of no where. The shop also appears to be frequented by persons who raft from Cisco to Moab. Finally, the shopkeeper seems rather frazzled and distracted by computer glitches of the previous day and wasn't particularly friendly (not unfriendly) to either me or my husband on this day. (Others have reported a better experience). To top things off, she wouldn't let my husband use the rest room, claiming that it hadn't been cleaned the previous day and was a mess. We do have a self-contained RV but he needed the restroom while browsing in the store. read more

Great overnight stay. Nice lady at store. Very welcoming and VERY eclectic! Loved it!!

A little bit of everything. Somewhere between a gift shop, a convenience store, an antique shop and a museum. The definition of eclectic. If you're headed into the middle of nowhere and you forgot something that you need, it's probably there, or something that will do is probably there. You can't miss the place because it's the first thing you will have seen in a while if you're traveling along the route that it's on. You want to support a small business? A local one? Then you've got to stop here. You'll probably see something you love that you didn't even know you wanted or needed. read more

Very eclectic & nest general store adjacent to the "ghost town". Staff were very nice & chatted with my wife & i as we browsed the store. I purchased a shirt & some "draft chocolate milk" I've never seen. Was pretty good actually. Sat outside & ate a packed lunch before continuing our scenic drive for the afternoon. Worth a stop if you are finishing or beginning the scene of route to or from Moab or even if you are driving by on i70 it's a short 7-10 min drive read more

Turning onto the scenic 128 to Moab and saw an intriguing sign -"Buzzards Belly General Store - 3 miles". Looked it up and decided to hop off I-70 at the Cisco exit on the way back from Arches. Absolutely a delightful surprise! 'Eclectic' should have this store's pic beside it in the dictionary. Toys, jewelry, clothes, and pure fun! Jean the owner was a joy to talk to and after picking up some T-shirts, license plates, and snacks, and taking pics with the Dino heads outside, we thought we were ready to leave. However, figured out after that it was a famous sight from 'Thelma and Louise', so on the way to Canyonlands the next day, and decided to stop back by to buy some more T's and a toy crane and license plate lamp and take some fun pics. The prairie dogs were putting on a show as well. It is an EASY few mile 5-10 minute detour off of 70, no backtracking just come out on the other side, and any time we head this way we will be stopping in again. No kidding. We were partial to the Thelma and Louise props, but there are also Dino's, Gorillas, Aliens, and Buzzards to pose with. Kitschy, cute and clever. read more

You have to drive the Scenic Drive 128 from Moab to Cisco. That in itself is worth the trip. It's a funky and fun general store within a ghost town setting. The owner purchased the property and now is there to share the history of Cisco and other great local folklore. Head out and grab some great moments. read more

If you're in Moab or passing by on I-70, this is a stop you have to make, if for no other reason than to say you've been there. Great little store for snacks and eclectic odds and ends. Cute t-shirts and excellent cookies. The lady running the store was a joy to talk to, and can tell you anything you need to know about the area. We drove from Moab out to I-70 to Cisco then back to Moab down the river road. A perfect way to spend 3 hours. read more

Warning: the cookies are ADDICTING and the staff is so nice you will want to spend your day there! We were low on fuel ( R-E-a-l-l-Y low) and desperate for gas . There was no gas station for 23 miles and our tank showed that we had 2 miles to go when we chugged into Cisco. I asked the friendly lady at the Buzzard's Belly if she knew where we could buy gas. She proceeded to tell us we were in luck because the day before someone left a 2-1/2 gallon can of gas there. She let use that gas to get us to Thomason's Creek 23 miles away so we were able to get gas then return the gas can. She was soooo nice!!! Lifesaver for sure! And the cookies are to die for! read more

Old time store-quite unique. Owner and Teenager working there were very helpful. Little off the beaten path but worth it !

This store is off the beaten path, but it is totally worth the visit! Look for the signs on UT128. They have very unique antiques, some snacks and a very friendly owner. Give them a chance to revive an older building with an awesome store! read more
