Funky and super friendly general store at 197 East Cisco RD, Cisco, UT 84515; worth stopping on the way to or from Colorado just off I70 in Cisco UT. Thelma and Louise was partially filmed in this town that was a victim of being bypassed by I70.

A little bit of everything. Somewhere between a gift shop, a convenience store, an antique shop and a museum. The definition of eclectic. If you're headed into the middle of nowhere and you forgot something that you need, it's probably there, or something that will do is probably there. You can't miss the place because it's the first thing you will have seen in a while if you're traveling along the route that it's on. You want to support a small business? A local one? Then you've got to stop here. You'll probably see something you love that you didn't even know you wanted or needed.

The lamp we had to have! Thanks Jean!

Turning onto the scenic 128 to Moab and saw an intriguing sign -"Buzzards Belly General Store - 3 miles". Looked it up and decided to hop off I-70 at the Cisco exit on the way back from Arches. Absolutely a delightful surprise! 'Eclectic' should have this store's pic beside it in the dictionary. Toys, jewelry, clothes, and pure fun! Jean the owner was a joy to talk to and after picking up some T-shirts, license plates, and snacks, and taking pics with the Dino heads outside, we thought we were ready to leave. However, figured out after that it was a famous sight from 'Thelma and Louise', so on the way to Canyonlands the next day, and decided to stop back by to buy some more T's and a toy crane and license plate lamp and take some fun pics. The prairie dogs were putting on a show as well. It is an EASY few mile 5-10 minute detour off of 70, no backtracking just come out on the other side, and any time we head this way we will be stopping in again. No kidding. We were partial to the Thelma and Louise props, but there are also Dino's, Gorillas, Aliens, and Buzzards to pose with. Kitschy, cute and clever.

If you're in Moab or passing by on I-70, this is a stop you have to make, if for no other reason than to say you've been there. Great little store for snacks and eclectic odds and ends. Cute t-shirts and excellent cookies. The lady running the store was a joy to talk to, and can tell you anything you need to know about the area. We drove from Moab out to I-70 to Cisco then back to Moab down the river road. A perfect way to spend 3 hours.

Our Dinner...COLD baked potato, they show loaded, but all the loaded items cost more to add. COLD steak. The shrimp were not even close to normal size. extremely tiny.(my dinner) My wife's was cold as well. so cold that soft butter would not even melt. The steaks had absolutely no flavor. It's like they were just taken out of the fridge and plopped down on a flat griddle with no seasoning at all. not like the picture. Yes, we told them and they did not even offer to re cook our dinner, warm it up or give us a discount of any kind. I only ate some of it because I was SO hungry. My dinner came out and 10 minutes later, my wife's dinner came out. Honestly, the salad bar was the best part, although it was not very fresh either, but better than the main course. SO SAD how some restaurants want local support but have no idea that the food and service are horrible. Just being completely honest. Cattlemen's...need to step up your game!

Once we're seated, we waited 10 mins for someone to take our drink order (a soda and a beer), 10 mins to get our drinks, then she couldn't take our food order, waited 10 mins to order our food... and we were the only table in the joint. LITERALLY. I ordered a 10 oz ribeye medium rare and it came well done (maybe med well? See pic) and a quarter inch thick... 10oz size questionable. Also notice how all of my sides were eaten but the steak is still on the plate... yeah she didn't check to see how our food was until we flagged her down like sailors in distress. The waitress informed me that they cut all their ribeyes that thin and if I got another ribeye, it would be 1/4 inch thick also, so I didn't order another. My friend's filet was blue rare (raw but seared on edges) but ordered medium rare and the waitress didn't offer to cook it more but instead blamed it on having a new cook. Took Kirsten 10 mins to get me a menu. When Kirsten finally found the time to come by our table to have me order a replacement, my friend finished her dinner already. I got the cowboy chili with cornbread. The chili was lukewarm if I am being generous- they could've just microwaved it like wtf how do you serve lukewarm/room temp chili if you have a microwave??? The cornbread was dry and crumbled into a million pieces. The service was the worst and least attentive I've had in maybe ten years probably my entire life. It was almost like we were in a comedy skit except it wasn't funny. I will never ever ever go back. Texas Roadhouse is way better which is just sad. I did notice an employee eating a big beautiful steak while she closed out her shift, I asked what cut and she said a ribeye. So I guess they cut the 1-1.5 inch thick cuts for employee steaks and customers get ribeyes a 1/4 inch thin cooked into shoe leather. Pro tip: go to Strayhorn. Rumor is cattleman's doesn't even use local beef anymore, they just cosplay ranch life so you get to eat a low quality steak with the comforting smell of cow poo.

I loved knowing where we were in line at any time - very efficient. We were seated in 6 minutes and our server greeted us shortly after. We ordered regular coffee, the Cinnamon Roll (it's huge) and the Waffle meal which included eggs and bacon and we added fruit. The coffees came right away followed by the cinnamon roll. We had a few minutes to enjoy that when our breakfast arrived. Everything tasted great! The cinnamon roll did not have frosting on it but that was okay because there was a lot of cinnamon sugar in its layers. The waffles are not real Belgian but they were fresh, light, and fluffy. The bacon is super thick - very tasty. The restaurant decor looks fairly recent and the vibe is casual and laid back. Come as you are and enjoy a great breakfast!

I would not go there for a full breakfast. Maybe just coffee and a snack for me.
