I had my surgery on a Friday and went to see Dr. Bennett on Monday for my first check up. Then went back 3 weeks later and again another 3 weeks later, all at no additional out of pocket cost to me. My recovery included some physical therapy with Mia, in the Bennett Orthopedics office in Venice, which I might add is very knowledgeable, friendly and an absolute pleasure. I also did exercises that you can find on Dr. Bennett's website, and then basic things such as ice and elevation. I would also like to mention Henry who works in the front office. He was always so very helpful, I had some questions concerning my insurance and he looked into it for me, without hesitation. Henry is pleasant, courteous, and makes you feel at ease. I have now started a 15 day workout challenge, with intense weight training, doing exercises such as mountain climbers, burpees, jumping jacks, plus weight training. Prior to this knee surgery I have not been this active in 6-7 years. During those 6-7 years I had cortisone shots, multiple times, the knee drained a few times a year, prednisone and other medications to help with the swelling and pain, all to no avail. THIS WAS THE BEST DECISION I MADE WITH THE HELP OF DR. BENNETT AND HIS VAST KNOWLEDGE AND CUTTING EDGE TECHNOLOGY!!!!!

I was then fortunate enough to have Dr. Denise Baker be in charge of my care. I have never met a kinder Physician in my time on this planet. She is competent and very thorough. The surgical results exceeded my expectations. Dr. Baker gave me all the time I needed for wound care education and questions. Seriously, she spent more time with me than all my Dr. appts' over the past few years combined... another rarity! I had the test done on a Thursday and they received them two days later on a Saturday, yet didn't give me the results for almost two weeks! When they finally did, they gave them via email without any further direction. I emailed back with questions and they emailed a second time stating that I had two procedures scheduled for this Friday (??) but didn't say what to do to prepare, where to go, or when. I called the office for clarity and was told it was a mistake! The office manager got on the phone and was very dismissive and still offered no apology or direction. Unfortunately, this puts my health at risk, so despite actually feeling like the Dr may be good, I have to go elsewhere. A doctor who can't manage his office staff is disappointing. A staff who treats patients with utter disregard is unacceptable. I would avoid this practice at all cost. FYI, there were several similar reviews to mine that have obviously been taken down. Hiding incompetency instead of hiring better staff?? The office manager, Lindsay the reception, and Farrah who sent the inaccurate emails are clearly inept at their jobs. I hope this dr takes note.

I have been dealing with a chronic issue that continues to worsen, and she always takes me seriously and does not brush me off, which I genuinely appreciate. I have been in her office in tears, ready to give up and she can always reassure me and bring me back to earth. She never hesitates to make a referral to a specialist, which means a lot. I have been to some primaries who try to know everything and they tend to have you going in circles for a while. I also appreciate that if I mention wanting a specific test done, she doesn't get upset and is more than willing to help me get it done. This was the result. - Waited 3 days and my prescription was not called into the Pharmacy when they said it was. Gave them the benefit of the doubt, even though the pharmacy insist they never got it. - Ask them to prescribe an alternative medication. Said they would get back to us, after waiting 3 days, called their office and they said they call my cell phone and got no answer (no message was left). They explained the alternative and asked if we want them to go ahead and call it into the Pharmacy. We said yes. Kept checking with the pharmacy, nothing after 3 days. Pharmacy said they had gotten nothing. Called the office, they were now on vacation for a week, so had to wait a week. Called them as soon as they got back. They said they were waiting for our OK to call it into the Pharmacy, which we had already provided on the previous call. Person was uppity and defensive when told that, said it was not her that we talked to. Then we asked them to prescribe something else as the prescription was $1k. They offered to send to an alternative mail order pharmacy instead and we told them to go ahead and do that. A week later no mail with the prescription from the new alternative pharmacy. Called the pharmacy, they did not have it. We called the office, and guess what, they claimed they were still wait for us to OK it. - Finally, I have follow-up appointment. They called me the week prior to change the time to 15 minutes later. When I got the confirmation, not only has the time changed, but now I have a different Dr., which they never mentioned, and I have never heard of him. OK, will live with it. I had to reschedule (which turned out to be a blessing). I called the number on the website and I had previously used to schedule my original appointment. Was told the Dr I had the original appointment with, and this new Dr, they could not rescheduled the appointment via the number I was calling and was given another number. Confused, I went to the web site, only to see my original Dr is listed at the number I had called and the "new" Dr is no where to be found. So, I called back explained the confusion and asked what was the location of this number? Indeed, it is the office I visited in Sarasoto. I explained what had happened and said I had an appointment at the Sarasota office. I was told, in a "are you stupid, we already told you" tone that the original Dr had actually moved to another office and was not working from this Satasota office any more. Really, at what point did you say that? Perhaps, "sorry your Dr is now practicing from a different location" would have help the 1st time I called. Total attitude. Oh and btw, why would you change me to a Dr. who is in Osprey apparently, without even telling me, when I have been seen in the Sarasota office? I am glad I cancelled the appointment, as I had no idea they moved it to Osprey, and was never asked if that was convenient for me, which it is not. When I told her it would have been clearer if she had said that in the first place, she hung up on me without asking if they could do anything to help. - Completely incompetent and rude office staff.
