I had repeatedly told other doctors that I constantly had fluid in my ears, but no one ever seemed to investigate it thoroughly. After receiving proper care, about 90% of the phlegm and congestion I had been experiencing in my throat has cleared up. I believe I may also have had an infected Eustachian tube that had gone untreated. The doctor who treated me was exceptionally kind, considerate, and down-to-earth. In fact, she was so approachable and caring that I initially thought she might be a nurse. She listened carefully, took my concerns seriously, and provided outstanding care. When I told her that what she does is like being a brain surgeon, she laughed and said, "I'm not a brain surgeon." What I meant was that her work requires an incredible amount of training, skill, precision, and attention to detail. The expertise she demonstrated made a real difference in my life. We live in a difficult and often stressful world, and I think it's important to recognize people who truly make a difference. I want to thank the doctor and everyone involved in my care. I am feeling so much better, and I am deeply grateful for the professionalism, compassion, and dedication I experienced. Thank you.

The first time we met with Dr. Shea, he could see how terrified she was and did not want to make her fear worse. He informed us that the object was not hurting anything in its current spot and told us to make an appt. for a later date to see if she was calmer or if it came out on its own. Fast forward to today... my daughter still panicking and in tears awaiting the appointment. He did not pressure her at all, but was very reassuring and sweet. He showed her where it was on a special camera and asked her to let him try and he would stop anytime she wanted. I could see she was reluctant but finally agreed. He was very skilled and gentle and got it out with no issue. It's a huge relief in our home, and I think this positive experience will encourage her to trust medical professionals in the future. I had a surgical procedure on October 16th involving a middle ear injection to address eustachian tube dysfunction. This procedure had been scheduled months in advance. A day before my the surgery date, Dr. Marlowe's office contacted me and required a $450 out-of-pocket payment for the injection, stating they would work with my insurance afterward to assist with reimbursement. I paid this amount. On the morning of surgery, I arrived at the surgery center at 6:00 a.m. and was informed that I would also need to pay a $1,200 surgery center fee because it had not been submitted to my insurance for pre-authorization. The office had several months to obtain authorization but had not done so - to my expense. I was told that if I did not pay the $1,200 that morning, the procedure would need to be rescheduled. After waiting months with intermittent hearing in one ear, I felt I had no choice but to pay. It has now been four months, and I have not been reimbursed for either charge due to repeated billing errors. My insurance company has issued multiple denials based on incorrect coding, missing documentation, and failure to submit required retro-authorization forms. Each time I follow up, they tell me "it's resolved on their end." It's "resolved" because I paid it! Unless I consistently pursue updates myself, no action is taken. I carry excellent insurance coverage, and reimbursement should not be difficult. The issue is not coverage -- it is the repeated failure to properly submit documentation and carelessness of the office because they are not out the $1,650, I am.

Zero Stars I made an appointment with Dr. Marlowe for FESS…read moreendoscopic sinus surgery. I've had chronic sinusitis for years. I have radiology reports back at least ten years stating "grossly deviated septum with spur" and was told I may have skull base tumors. I simply wanted the procedure to clear my sinuses. I brought CT scans, MRI, even my laptop with dicom medical imaging reader. He was rude, had his medical assistant open up the images in another room and didnt go over them with me, despite me bringing my laptop and disc player into the exam room. Despite knowing I need a FESS, despite my insurance already approving the procedure, he came back into the room and told me I was fine and didnt need the FESS. I was very surprised because I went to the appointment with the intend on scheduling surgery. I said, "what about my deviated septum, can you fix it" and he looked surprised and LIED to me (his facial movements and eyes let me know he was lying) and says, "its not that bad". I also brought along my medication list. He saw I already take 40mg of Protonix for GERD, and yet the only thing he did do was write me a second Rx for Protonix, that I didnt need. This was a waste of my time, waste of $45 copay, waste of health insurance payout. Do not beLIEve the 5 star reviews as he pays people to write them. Worthless. This guy Marlowe is worthless. Find another ENT. EDIT: to add the CT Scan from 2021 he said "looked fine" has this Radiology report: "septal deviation, convex, airway obstruction 50 - 75% and septal spur". A simple google search: "A convex septal deviation with 50-75% airway obstruction and a septal spur indicates a significant deviation of the nasal septum, likely causing noticeable breathing difficulties and potentially other issues like sinus infections. The deviation, especially when combined with a septal spur, can create a significant narrowing of the nasal passages, leading to impaired airflow." This doctor, Dr. Marlowe is a loser who is afraid to do ENT surgery. AVOID HIM. EDIT #2. When I showed Marlowe the Afrin/Lidocaine nasal spray that ENT Associates of Manatee gave me a few years ago, he looked stupid and asked me why they would give something like that to me. IDIOT. She was very upset that I had disturbed her sleep, as she had to perform surgery the next day, and she totally dismissed me, although she was the on call doctor! I was unable to speak to her on the phone, nor get a follow up visit for 3 weeks! Meanwhile, the issue was not improving. I finally went to an ER and paid for some alternative treatments, all at my expense. I was finally able to see her today, and she stated the problem was my nostrils were small, and I probably had an allergy. I did not have the "allergy" before she performed an unnecessary procedure! She also said that she is very busy seeing really sick patients, like those with cancer, implying that I wasn't worth her time, when she caused the issue from which I was suffering! I did see another doctor in the practice, since I couldn't get in to see Dr. Nall, and she was wonderful. I would highly recommend her, Dr. Rachel Kelley.

All this stemming from ONE panic attack that led to the inappropriate prescribing of these POISONS; not once did any of these lessen my symptoms, but rather worsened them and presented new ones which led to more drugs and new false diagnoses. And the worst, an attempted OD that left me hospitalized. But first: I was only on levothyroxine for years, and after ONE panic attack he had me STOP it for 4 days, then restart it at 50%, a drastic reduction after being stable for decades. He then gave me Xanax, mirtazapine, busparone all within 2 weeks and didn't stop there. He did not once appear to monitor the effectiveness and potential paradoxical effects, which we now know was the case: the drugs worsened the symptoms they were designed to treat. Both my husband and I both left his " practice" due to the aforementioned incompetence and unjustified arrogance of his refusal to refer me to an endocrinologist once another physician ( granted, a former anesthesiologist turned wellness MD) ordered blood labs that showed a high level of thyroid antibodies leading to a Dx of Hashimotos. (Aside: Kahane also declined my request for a referral to a dermatologist to remove my husband's skin tags, claiming he could do it... we were horrified when he proceeded to numb him with lidocaine and cut the 30+ of them with a scalpel, which by the way my husband felt, rather than cauterize them as we had anticipated. He said he would call me after reviewing my scan from a radiology location. He did call me that same day, at 5:15 on a Friday, on a holiday weekend! His staff were friendly and efficient, that resulted in less than a five minute wait to be called into the exam room. I highly recommend Island ENT and Wellness Spa and audiology.
