I went in April (around 18:00), and not only was the ride up quite peaceful and enjoyable, but once atop the mountain, the views were spectacular and the tourists were not overwhelming in the slightest. No pushing or shoving for the perfect photo spot. The views are amazing. Photos don't really do it justice, you have to go for yourself. Pack smart! There's significantly more wind up there! And goats.

The par 5 are long and greens are small. Bill Clinton said it was one of the hardest courses he had played according to local legend. A really nice beautiful walk through the splendid Norwegian nature. Vies of woods ponds lakes and fjords. Surrounded by majestic mountains even a few snow covered peaks. Lots of elevation changes with some dramatic holes! The course looks like it belongs in the mountain in which it is built but looks like it has been there for hundreds of years not the 15 or so it's been there. Has all the practice facilities and very friendly staff (and accommodating) as well as friendly locals. Even in a chilly rainy walking day this course was spectacular!!

The cable car is a must do for the view and the hiking at the top, Do be aware that some of the…read morehikes that are far from the cable car are not well marked particularly the Vidden trail, and there are a lot of social trails, so bring your All Trails or Kamoot app to make sure you do not get lost. The Vidden trail is very rocky, be sure to have sturdy boots.

The Ulriken cable car (aka Gondola) is a great way to get a view from the top of a mountain. It is…read morea modern cable car and very fast and efficient and safe. It is a little bit of a hassle to get to if you don't have a car and are staying in Bergen, but there is an express bus or you can take the light rail closeby and walk to the entrance. We took the light rail there and express bus back (bus was definitely more efficient and door to door from central Bergen). There is some food at the top, but not a big restaurant. All and all if you like mountain views and/or hiking, this is worth a trip. We saw many take the gondola up one-way and then hike down.
