Visited the restaurant after the Preikestolen hiking. The dishes could be hotter (temperature-wise - I like my warm dish to be really warm), but they all tasted great and come in a very generous portion. We also enjoyed the dessert (we had some sort of flan). Tea and coffee are free, which is a great plus! A perfect place to satisfy your hunger after hiking!

Great food, shopping and amazing scenery!

So you want to stay somewhere close to Preikestolen? This wonderful hotel named Preikestolen…read moreFjellstue is the answer. It is the perfect starting and ending point for your hike up to Pulpit Rock. The main building is the hotel lodge where every room has a private bath. Another smaller building is the hostel where the rooms have shared bathrooms. The rooms were alright. Definitely, not fancy. Although, WiFi was included...the signal was not very good inside our room. Had to go down to the lounge area or lobby area in order to use it. Bed wasn't the best, but I still slept well. Breakfast was included with our accommodation, and the food was pretty good. We also tried their restaurant for dinner. Their were only a few entree choices, but all were very good. The Norwegian Meatball entree was my favorite. Would I stay here again? Yup! We've already crossed Preikestolen off our bucket list, but I recommend staying at this lodge when you are in this part of Norway.

I stayed one night here in a 2-bedroom hostel by myself for one of my hikes to Preikestolen. The…read morerooms were clean when I visited, and the staff was nice and spoke great English. Check-in and check-out was a breeze, they give you a key tied to a wooden knob/plank with your room number. The location is great as you are right by Pulpit Rock, but there are a variety of activities you can do on-site. One of the best things here was the free breakfast. I stayed there the entire time, people watching and trying out all the unique foods from the area. I also had lunch here as well, which was reasonably priced considering the price of food everywhere else in Norway.

The hotel is within walking distance of most major city-center activities and is outside the bus terminal area, so there are plenty of bus routes/taxis available, too. I had a room facing the lake, so a nice view, but it did get a bit noisy on Friday/Saturday night with nightlife noise. The rooms seem recently updated; the bed was comfy with a nice table and seating area. The bathroom is bigger than your typical "European" style bathroom, which was a welcome change! Front desk employees were professional and friendly. Room service is available from the nice restaurant downstairs, Fire Lake. Breakfast is additional cost, but it is a huge spread and worth it in my opinion. All in all, certainly would stay here again if I am ever back in the area!

The rooms are notably larger than the general hotel room size. It has lots of liquid amenities that have a refreshing scent that I enjoyed. The in house coffee machine was convenient. The fridge was helpful. There is breakfast, though I slept through it, as usual. The VIEW! It has a commanding pond view with a water feature. Love the swans. The city and mountains are a beautiful backdrop. Location. Steps from a supermarket above the bus/train station. To the left is the city centre.
